Area Arrests For 06/24/26

The following arrests were reported to Hart Media Group by the Christian County Sheriff's Office on 06/24/2026.

 

On 6-18-26:

 

Kenneth Kuhn, 47, of Pana was arrested by the Pana Police Department for Possession of Methamphetamine.

 

On 6-21-26:

 

Dustin Cline, 37, of Springfield was arrested by the Taylorville Police Department for Concealing or Aiding Fugitive.

 

Karissa Walker, 29, of Edinburg was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for Domestic Battery.

 

On 6-22-26:

 

Patrick Landers, 25, of Kincaid was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for Interference of Reporting Domestic Violence, Aggravated Battery and Domestic Battery.

 

Zachary Miller, 24, of Pana was arrested by the Pana Police Department for Threatening Public Official.

 

Erica Zahradka, 46, was arrested by the Taylorville Police Department for Meth Delivery.

On 06/09/26:


Nathaniel D. Johnson, age 24, of Taylorville, was arrested for Domestic Battery.


On 06/12/26:


A Juvenile Female, age 14, of Taylorville, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.


Rodney K. Smith, age 46, of Morrisonville Illinois, was arrested for DUI.


On 6/13/26:


Caydin D. Gaddis, age 20, of Taylorville, was arrested for Aggravated Domestic Battery and Criminal Damage to Property. 


On 6/14/26:


Alissa L. Sherwood, age 50, of Taylorville, was arrested for DUI.


On 6/16/26:


Michael K. McClain, age 28, of Taylorville, was arrested for Driving While License Revoked.


Jerry L. Burton, age 54, of Taylorville, was arrested for Obstruction of Justice.


Boston Donovan, age 19, of Taylorville, was arrested for Residential Burglary

 

CRASH REPORTS:

 

On 05/18/2026, at approximately 4:18 PM, Robert L. Hefley was traveling south on North Cheney Street, approaching West Elm Street. Heffley slowed to make a right turn onto West Elm Street, when Aron C. Strunk failed to reduce speed and rear ended Hefley. No injuries or othercollisions were reported with this incident and neither vehicle required towing.

 

On 06/02/20206 at approximately 7:06 AM, a Taylorville Police Officer Josh Niles responded to a 2 vehicle collison that occured on Illinois Route 29 near Burnett Boulevard inTaylorville. Officer NIles reports that when arriving on scene tht Chance A. Vires was parked on the side of the road with their hazards lights active. and Sean W. Baker was pulled into the grass just east ot the crash scene, Officer Niles reports that Vires explaind to him that Baker attempted to merge into his lane. When baker merged, Baker's rear bumper struck the front bumper of Vires' vehicle. Officer Niles confirmed that this is what happend with Baker, and Baker did confirm that is what happened. The collision caused Baker to veer off the road and drive into the grass. Both drivers were okay with no injuries and neither vehicle required a tow.

 

On 06/06/2026 Taylorville Police Officer Josh Niles responded to a vehicle collision at the intersection of North Cherokee Street and East Esther Street in Taylorville. Addison A. Beswarick  was driving on Esther Street and attempted to cross Cherokee. Beswarick failed to clear the intersection before attempting to cross Cherokee Street, resulting in the front end of her vehicle to collide with the back end of Jonathan R. Wamsley. Wamsley was riding a motorcycle while Beswarick was driving a Mazda sedan. Officer Niles reports that upon his arrival, Wamsley was resting in a nearby yard as a result of the collision, and Beswarick was in a nearby driveway. Both drivers were able to drive away from the scene, Beswarick was issued a citation for failing to yield to the right of way, and both drivers refused medical treatment. No injuries were reported.

LOCAL MOTOR VEHICLE INCIDENTS:

 

On 05/29/2026 at approximately 6:30 AM: Dale L. Meissbach was traveling northbound on IL Route 48. Meanwhile Bradley D. Falter was driving eastbound on Lincoln Trail. Where IL Route 48 and Lincoln Trail Meet, there is a 4 way stoplight intersection. At this intersection, Meissbach approached a green traffic light, while Falter, who also was driving a semi truck, disobeyed the red traffic light, and proceeded into the intersection causing Meissbach to crash into the passenger side of Falter's semi cab. Meissbach was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital via Dunn's Ambulance. 

 

On 05/29/2026 at approximately 7:10AM: Michele J. Clarke had a red light and Daniel J. Britton had a green light. Clarke disobeyed the red traffic signal and proceeded into the itnersection, causing Britton to strike the rear passenger door of Clarke's vehicle. Both vehicle's airbags were deployed, rendering both vehicles disabled. Both parties refused medical care. 

 

On 06/04/2026 at approximately 4 AM: A vehicle belonging to an employee of GSI-Taylorville was parked in the GSI parking lot, When the employee returned to their vehilce, they noticed damage to both the drivers side fender and bumper. There were no witnesses and there aren't any exterior cameras that could have caught the incident. 

 

 

 

Crash Reports For The Month Of May

The following motor vehicle incidents were reported to Hart Media Group on 06/02/2026

 

This list is for the month of May.

 

5-1-26


Shelby Ashcroft-Suckow, 20, of Rosamond, was driving east on 350 North RD near 1400 East RD when the vehicle struck a deer in the road and came to a stop on the side of the road.

Mary Stickel, 31, of Kincaid, was trying to back out of a parking spot and turned into a parked car sitting to their right.

 

Andrew Brooks, 22, of Lighthouse Point, FL, was facing east and parked on the north side of the roadway on 800 East RD and was pulling a fiber optic construction box trailer. Brooks was working on the side of the roadway and was parked partially in the roadway. Brooks stated he was out of the vehicle and had cones around the trailer when Edward Miller, 76, of Owaneco, was traveling westbound on 800 North RD and attempted to pass around Brooks' vehicle. Miller was pulling a livestock trailer when his trailer tire hit the door of the trailer being pulled by Brooks.

Rita Kissel, 60, of Rochester, was traveling westbound on 2975 North RD near the intersection of 1735 East RD when the vehicle struck a deer in the roadway.

Alicia Daily, 44, of Blue Mound, was traveling southbound on S. Main Street near North Street in Stonington, while Kyle Lee, 20, of Collinsville was traveling northbound on the same roadway. Daily attempted to make a left turn into the Casey’s General Store parking lot, entering the driving lane of Lee, resulting in a collision in the roadway.

Steven Tischkau, 55, of Farmersville, was traveling west on IL RT 104 when a deer entered the roadway, and the vehicle collided with the deer.

Zachary DeLong, 34, of Morrisonville, was traveling north on IL RT 29 when a deer entered the roadway. The vehicle struck the deer and sustained damage to its front portion of the vehicle.

Ethan Cumberworth, 18, of Riverton, was driving South on IL RT 48 when it left the north side of the roadway. Cumberworth corrected and spun around in the road before leaving the road on the south side and coming to a stop in the ditch.

 

Samantha Churchill, 19, of South Jacksonville, was traveling southbound on IL RT 48 near 1025 North RD when she swerved to avoid a deer that had entered the roadway. The vehicle veered into the northbound lane and subsequently came to a complete stop after colliding with an embankment on the east side of the road.

David Schulze, 38, of Salem, was traveling southbound on 1250 East RD at Wantland DR when a deer entered the roadway and was struck by the vehicle.

Lawrence Impastato, 79, of Taylorville, was traveling northbound on 1250 East RD and 700 North when a deer entered the roadway and was struck by the vehicle.

Ashley Key, 26, of Kincaid, was attempting to back from the roadway into a residential drive and navigated the turn too quickly and struck the rear passenger’s side of another vehicle.

 

Aidan Feld, 21, of Chatham, was traveling North on 1250 East RD when a deer entered the roadway and struck the front passenger side of the vehicle.

Christiana Zipprich, 35, of Litchfield, was traveling southwest on IL RT 48 and was passing another vehicle also traveling southwest. An unknown vehicle traveling northeast came into view of Zipprich. Zipprich then attempted to change lanes back into the southwest lane of traffic. The driver then lost control of the vehicle and went into a skid. The vehicle exited the road on the north side and hit the ditch. The vehicle then rolled multiple times and crashed into a power pole guide wire. The vehicle came to rest on 100 East RD in the east ditch on its roof. The driver was able to exit the vehicle. The power pole that was supported by the guide wire snapped 10-15 feet in the air and caused wires to cross both lanes of traffic on IL RT 48. Brian Lynch, 67, of Taylorville, was traveling northeast after the crash happened on the dark highway and ran into the wires, resulting in damage to the front end of the vehicle.

48-year-old Jeffery Moreland of Pana was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for Driving While License Revoked/Suspended and Possession of Methamphetamine.

 

64-year-old Richard Peat of Kincaid was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for Disorderly Conduct.


On 5/26/26

 

30-year-old Sierra M. Durbin of Taylorville, was arrested for Assault, Aggravated Assault and Disorderly Conduct.

 

On 5/27/26

 

31-year-old Briar D. Samson of Taylorville, was arrested for Fleeing and Eluding.

 

On 5/29/26

 

24-year-old Taylor J. Durbin of Taylorville, was arrested for Battery.

 

On 5/30/26

 

29-year old Shane D. Cole of Pana Illinois, was arrested on a Warrant.

20-year-old Kaylee M. Scanland of Springfield Illinois, was arrested for Possession of Stolen Property.

18-year-old Ryanna N. Edenfield of Thomosboro Illinois, was arrested for Possession of Nicotine under age 21.

 

44-year-old Robert D. Burke of Taylorville, was arrested for Burglary and Criminal Damage Property.

 

39-year-old Carl L. Gray of Taylorville, was arrested for Possession of Stolen Property and Possession of Methamphetamine.


ACCIDENTS:

 

On 05/22/2026, Jeanie M. Rathgeber of Taylorville was traveling northwest on Springfield Road approaching the Taylorville High School when Gregory M. Mizera attempted to turn northwest onto Springfield Road from the circle drive in front of the high school. Mizera failed to yield to Rathgeber and pulled into traffic, causing Mizera to strike the passenger side of Rathgeber. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles drove from the scene of the crash.
