The following motor vehicle crashes were reported to Hart Media Group by the Christian County Sheriff's Office on 06/30/2026.

Trent Rodman, 47, of Moweaqua was traveling northbound on US HWY 51 when a deer entered the roadway and was struck by the vehicle.

Trevor Alstat, 32, of Raymond was driving east on IL RT 48 and struck a deer in the roadway.

Lory Gibson, 55 of Morrisonville (Unit 1) and Mathew Marcus, 33, of Taylorville (Unit 2) were traveling east on 500 North Road in Morrisonville when Unit 2 approached the intersection of 500 North 200 East RD and proceeded to make a left turn. Unit 1 failed to reduce speed and passed Unit 2 on the left side causing a collision at the intersection.

Bruce Brockelsby, 70, of Edinburg (Unit 1) was traveling westbound on 2100 North Road near the intersection of State Route 29 in Edinburg. The driver of Unit 1 entered the intersection, crossing the northbound lane of State Route 29 and continuing into the southbound lane, where Unit 1 struck the rear driver’s side of Roger Prior Jr., 53 of Riverton (Unit 2) vehicle. Following the impact, the driver of Unit 2 brought the vehicle to a complete stop on the shoulder of State Route 29 near 2100 North Road.

Kerry Nelson, 65, of Kincaid was traveling north near 1372 N 500 East Road when the vehicle drove onto loose gravel on the right shoulder of the roadway causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle continued into a ditch on the right side of the roadway causing the driver to be thrown a short distance.

Joshua Cisco, 47, of Mt. Auburn was driving south on 1400 East Road at 2964 North when it struck a tree that had fallen in the roadway.

Keith Pierson, 34, of Taylorville (Unit 1) was traveling west on 900 North Road approaching a 4-way intersection with 00 East Road. Jason Wolverton, 49, of Morrisonville (Unit 2) was traveling south on 00 East Road approaching the same intersection. Unit 1 entered into the intersection attempting to cross over 00 East Road. Due to the intersection being uncontrolled, unit 1 failed to yield right-of-way to unit 2 causing unit 2 to strike the rear of Unit 1.

Dixie Vincent, 91, of Mt. Auburn (Unit 1) was turning left onto East Main St. from Walnut St. in Mt. Auburn and Darrell Ball, 66, of Decatur (Unit 2) was traveling east on East Main St. nearing Walnut St. Unit 1 was required to yield to Unit 2 because of a stop sign; Unit 1 made a left hand turn into the front of Unit 2.

Richard Gudausky, 63, of Witt was traveling eastbound on 520 North Road and stated a deer entered the roadway and was struck by the vehicle.

Lauren Waller, 22, of Decatur was traveling southbound on 2300 East Road near 1450 North when the driver stated a deer entered the roadway and was struck by the vehicle.

Makenna Allsop, 20, of Pana was traveling west on IL RT 16 when a deer entered the roadway. The vehicle was unable to avoid the deer and struck the deer in the roadway.

Denise Carey, 66, of Mt. Auburn was traveling southbound on 1400 East Road near 2724 North when a deer entered the roadway. The vehicle was unable to avoid a collision with the deer and struck the deer.

Corey Reed, 21, of Taylorville was traveling south on 2000 East Road in May Township when a deer entered the roadway causing the vehicle to collide with the deer.

Richard Stewart, 74, of Hillsboro (Unit 1) was traveling north and did not maintain his lane and struck Unit 2 (John Kirsch, 58, of Taylorville). Both units came to a stop on the shoulder.

Eric Valle, 63, of Kincaid was traveling south on 600 East Road and came to the intersection with State Route 104 in Kincaid. After stopping, the vehicle proceeded to turn east onto State Route 104 and drove over a slick substance that had been spilled on the roadway causing Unit 1 to lose control.

Rebecca Beyers, 57, of Pana was traveling north on 2000 East Road and struck a deer in the roadway.

John Scott, 81, of Pana was traveling south on 1950 East Road and was met by a vehicle traveling north. The driver over steered to the right causing him to leave the roadway and become stuck in a ditch on the west side of 1950 North Road.

Rohn Burke, 66, of Palmer of traveling southwest on IL Route 48 and attempted to make a left hand turn onto Mound Street in Palmer. while attempting to make the left hand turn, the vehicle exited the roadway to the right and entered into a grassy area. The vehicle overturned causing the driver and passenger to be thrown from the vehicle.
