Local Area Arrests And Crashes For 06/29/2026

The following area arrests and vehicle accidents were reported to Hart Media Group by the Taylorville Police Department on 06/30/2026.

 

TPD ARRESTS:

 

On 6/21/26:

 

Rodney D. Sizemore, age 28, of Taylorville, was arrested on a Warrant.

 

Dustin R.A. Cline, age 37, of Taylorville, was arrested for Aiding and Abeting a Fugative.

 

On 6/22/26:

 

Joshua L. Lynch, age 44, of Taylorville, was arrested for Retail Theft.

 

On 6/24/26:

 

Jacob C. Krouse, age 41, of Taylorville, was arrested for Criminal Trespass, Resisting Arrest and Obstruction of Justice.

 

On 6/25/26:

 

Gauge A. Schoof, age 20, of Taylorville, was arrested on a Warrant.

 

On 6/26/26:

 

Chance A. Krouse, age 19, of Taylorville, was arrested for Possession of Cannabis/Alcohol under age 21.

 

Cole A. Ackerman, age 18, of Taylorville, was arrested for Possession of Cannabis/Alcohol under age 21.

 

A Juvenile Male, age 17, of Taylorville, was arrested for Possession of Cannabis/Alcohol under age 21.


LOCAL AREA VEHICLE ACCIDENTS:

 

On June 11th, 2026, at approximately 09:22 AM:

 

Kerri L Austwick was traveling south on North Webster Street, approaching the intersection of West Spresser Street and West Park Street. Austwick disregarded the traffic control device governing their direction of travel, additionally failing to yield the right-of-way to other vehicles entering the intersection. Austwick entered the intersection, executing a left turn onto West Park Street, causing the front drivers side to collide with the front drivers side of Luke D. Belskamper, who was attempting to drive straight ahead traveling west onto West Spresser Street within the intersection. No injuries were reported in connection with this incident and Belskamper’s vehicle was towed from the scene due to damage.

 

On June 11th, 2026 at approximately 12:56 PM:

 

Dillon M. Washburn was attempting to reverse from a parking space in the lot located at 121 West Vine Street and collided with a second vehicle in the lot. No injuries were reported and both vehicles remained in operation.

 

On June 11th, 2026, at approximately 03:59 PM:

 

Julia A. Keown was traveling south on South Madison Street, approaching the intersection at West Market Street. Brett S. Durbin was traveling west on West Market Street, approaching the intersection at South Madison Street. Durbin’s path was not controlled by any traffic signs or devices and Durbin was not required to stop at the intersection. Keown did not properly stop at the intersection’s stop sign, failing to wait until the intersection was clear before proceeding causing Keown’s drivers side panel to get hit by Durbin’s front end. Unit 1 entered into the intersection and collided with Unit 2. Both Keown and the front-seat passenger, Tyra C. Flatts, sustained injuries and were transported by Dunn’s Ambulance. The vehicles were both towed from the scene by Kertow’s Salvage.

 

On June 16th, 2026 at approximately 7:29 PM:

 

Sherwood then left the roadway on the right side, striking a vehicle that was parked in the driveway of 1226 W. Rich St. Sherwood then continued through the ditch on the right side of the road, striking a street sign and becoming disabled in the ditch. Sherwood admitted to consuming 2 alcoholic beverages prior to driving and was transported to TMH by Dunn's ambulance. She was later arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
 
On June 24th, 2026 at approximately 5:40 AM:

 

Jacob C. Krouse was traveling west on West Main Cross and struck Michael I Schroyer. Schroyer was traveling south on Washington Street after completing a stop. Both vehicles viewpoints were obstructed by vehicles parked near the north east corner of West Main Cross. Schroyer’s vehicle was towed from the scene due to sustained damage.
