5/8/25
Donald Johnson, 49, of Taylorville was arrested by the Taylorville Police Department for Possession of Methamphetamine and Driving Revoked License.
Shady Abdallah, 38, of Decatur was arrested by the Taylorville Police Department for Possession of Methamphetamine, Meth Delivery, Obstructing Officer and Possession of Stolen Vehicle.

Benton Beard, 19, of Taylorville was arrested by the Taylorville Police Department for Aggravated Battery.
Damien Eskew, 19, of Mechanicsburg was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for Possession of Stolen Firearm, Theft and Firearm Without Valid FOID.
5/5/25 at 4:51 p.m.
Sherry Millburg, 58, of Morrisonville was traveling Southwest on IL RT 48 and 2nd Street in Palmer and admitted to falling asleep while driving. The vehicle crossed the centerline and left the roadway to the South. The vehicle struck a Palmer population and speed limit then continued on and struck the ditch embankment.
5/9/25 at 8:00 a.m.
Unit 2 was parked and unoccupied along the Northside of East Division Street and the Southside of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Unit 1 was driving West and attempted to park on the Northside of Division Street in front of Unit 2. The passenger rear of Unit 1 hit the front driver side of Unit 2; Unit 1 left the scene. Witnesses saw and heard the crash but did not know the driver of Unit 1.
5/9/25 at 8:00 a.m.
Unit 1 (Clare Carter, 17, of Edinburg) and Unit 2 (Justin Boston, 20, of Edinburg)
Unit 1 was driving North on Troxill Road and Unit 2 was driving South on Troxill Road. Driver of Unit 1 stated that she looked down while driving. Unit 2 tried to get out of the way of Unit 1 but Unit 1 hit Unit 2 in the roadway.
5/10/25 at 1:57 p.m.
Unit 1 (Martha Zimmerman, 87, of Harvel) and Unit 2 (Gerald Maltby, 81, of Taylorville)
Unit 1 was traveling South on 100 East Road and Unit 2 was traveling Southwest on IL RT 48. Unit 1 was attempting to cross IL RT 48, failing to yield the right of way, when she hit Unit 2 on the rear passenger side of his SUV.

Laura A. Wayman, age 18, of Taylorville, was arrested for Theft.
The Taylorville Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4/18/25: 11:47 PM A vehicle owned by Arne H. Overhaug was parked at 1608 West Spresser facing north. A vehicle was leaving the parking lot and struck Overhaug's car on the front driver corner, pushing the car left. The unknown vehicle then headed west on Spresser Street fleeing the scene. Unit 2 had white paint transfer from that vehicle.
4/20/25 8:46 PM. Kacie Root of Taylorville was traveling northbound on Taylorville Blvd. Root stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Taylorville Blvd and West Elm Street, then continued northbound on Taylorville Blvd. An unknown vehicle was traveling westbound on West Elm Street failing to stop at the stop sign, striking Root's rear passenger side. The unknown vehicle continued westbound on West Elm Street and has not been identified.
4/21/25 11:03 PM. Erica R. Kettelkamp of Taylorville was traveling westbound on Route 48 and struck a deer. The car received heavy damage.
4/22/25 11:28 AM. On April 22nd, a two vehicle accident occurred in the parking lot of 621 North Ridge Avenue in Taylorville around 11:28 AM. The driver, Alicia Gilbert of Taylorville admitted they backed up and collied with a parked vehicle. No injuries to report.
4/24/25 4:30 PM Samuel A. Hughes of Taylorville and Heather M. Haines of Medon, Tennessee were both traveling northbound on N. Webster Street. Hughes was traveling behind Haines. Haines stopped at the red traffic control device and Hughes struck the back of Haines vehicle.
4/25/25 2:35 PM Gary W. Davis of Decatur was traveling southwest on Route 48. Michael Durbin of Taylorville was traveling north on Cherokee Street. Durbin failed to yield to Davis and the two vehicles hit.
4/29/25 12:00 AM A report from Virgil Hall of Taylorville came in of a hit and run between April 28th and May 1st resulting in minor damage to their vehicle.
5/1/25 2:22 PM A minor was traveling north on Cheney Street. Rebecca A. Suter attempted to turn into Arby's and struck the minor.
5/1/25 5:26 PM. Kaitlyn M. Wright of Taylorville was traveling northbound and entered the turn lane to turn west on John's Street. Witnesses stated they waved Wright to turn, but didn't see Ashley N. Pratt of Taylorville approaching on Webster Street. Wright continued to turn and Pratt struck the back side of Wright. This caused Wright to strike Kerri Rahar of Taylorville who was stopped at the stop sign on Johns Street waiting to turn. No injuries were reported.
5/3/25 4:50 PM. Raymond Isabella of Taylorville was in the southbound turn lane at Park Street and Main Street. Lane Gideon of Taylorville was traveling west on Park Street near the same intersection. A semi truck was also traveling east at the same intersection. The semitruck partially went into the oncoming turn lane. This caused Isabella to turn into the west bound turn lane striking Gideon.
5/8/25 10:20 AM. Sue Riess of Taylorville was leaving the YMCA parking lot and disregarded the stop sign turning in front of Isaiah M. Walker of Taylorville who couldn't stop in time and struck their vehicle. Riess was issued a citation for disobeying the stop sign.
