On Thursday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrest to Regional Radio News:

 

38-year-old Tiffani A. Bailey of Taylorville was arrested Thursday for Resisting a Peace Officer.

 

On Thursday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrest to Regional Radio News:


49-year-old Shannon A. Sweigart of Shelbyville was arrested Wednesday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $5,000.


On Thursday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following accident to Regional Radio News:


47-year-old Jimmy R. Crisp of Pawnee was driving westbound on 1400 N. Rd. approaching 300 E. Rd. Monday. He says he slowed down and looked for oncoming traffic, saw one vehicle approaching but he had plenty of time to go through the interesection. Crisp proceeded and then was hit by the vehicle driven by 40-year-old George A. Guinn IV of Nokomis. Guinn’s vehicle stopped on impact while Crisp’s vehicle continued in a west/southwest direction before striking the ditch embankment and coming to rest. Guinn was traveling in front of the vehicle that Crisp saw. Guinn was transported to St. John’s Hospital with injuries.

43-year-old Amie J. Kee of Taylorville was arrested Tuesday for Driving Without a Driver’s License.

 

On Wednesday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrest to Regional Radio News:


43-year-old Henry A. Willis of Springfield was arrested Tuesday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $2,500.

Area Arrests/Accidents 3/27/18

On Tuesday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:

 

18-year-old Ryan M. Knight of Taylorville had turned onto Route 48 northbound on March 13 when an unknown vehicle that was following him rear-ended his vehicle. The unknown vehicle fled from the scene.

 

40-year-old Charles W. Samson of Palmer was driving eastbound on Route 48 Wednesday following behind 47-year-old Jeff L. Hefner of Taylorville. When officers arrived, they found Samson’s vehicle in the ditch on the northeast side of the intersection with Cherokee St. and Hefner’s vehicle on the side of the road with major rear-end damage. Hefner was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital for his injuries. Samson was cited for the accident.

 

A 16-year-old was driving eastbound on Park St. Saturday behind 39-year-old Nicholas D. Cochran of Taylorville. Cochran slowed for traffic near the intersection on Park and Long and the 16-year-old could not stop in time. The 16-year-old rear-ended Cochran. The 16-year-old was cited for the accident.

 

The vehicle of Donna A. Moreland of Taylorville was parked outside her residence on W. Main Cross St. Sunday when she came out to her car and discovered that her vehicle had been hit by an unknown vehicle. She says the accident happened sometime between 9 p.m. Saturday and 2:45 p.m. Sunday. Her vehicle was legally parked and the case is under investigation.

 

On Tuesday, the Pana Police Department reported the following accident to Regional Radio News:


17-year-old Brailey M. Coulter of Tower Hill was driving southbound on Poplar St. Monday when she failed to stop at a stoplight at the intersection with First St. Coulter then struck the passenger side of 61-year-old Genece McElroy’s vehicle, causing damage to both units. Coulter was cited for disobeying a traffic control device.

 

On Tuesday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News:


23-year-old April N. Garcia of Taylorville was arrested Sunday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $1,500.


24-year-old Kelsey R. Roth-Elston of Kincaid was arrested Sunday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $5,000.


36-year-old Jason T. Batchelor of Mt. Auburn was arrested Monday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $250,000.


On Tuesday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:


23-year-old Blake A. Dunhum of Charleston was driving southbound on Route 51 on March 18. At the intersection with Route 16, Dunhum did not stop at the stop sign on the north side of the intersection. He went through the intersection and off the roadway on the south side, hit an embankment, and the vehicle went on its side. The vehicle traveled a short distance on its sside until it came to rest overturned facing eastbound. Dunhum had minor injuries and his passenger had injuries to her hand. The passenger was taken to Good Shepherd Hospital via Pana Ambulance.


32-year-old Aaron L. Peel of Kincaid was driving eastbound on 1800 N. Rd. Saturday when Peel says a deer ran into the roadway. He swerved to miss the deer and ran off the roadway. The vehicle ended up in the south ditch after striking several trees.


18-year-old William T. Morrissey of Kincaid was driving northbound on Route 51 Sunday when he hit a deer approximately ¼ of a mile north of 00 N Rd. Morrissey came to a stop in the northbound lane. His vehicle was towed from the scene.


21-year-old Kyle A. Miller of Pana was driving on County Road 4 Monday one mile east of Stonington when he ran off of the road and into the ditch. After traveling in the ditch, his vehicle came to rest overturned in the ditch. Miller had left the scene when a sheriff’s deputy had arrived. Miller was cited for failure to report an accident to a police authority.

On Monday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News:

 

26-year-old Jebediah E. Hogge of Taylorville was arrested Saturday for Driving With No Valid Driver’s License.

 

27-year-old Madeline I. Wilhour and 26-year-old Shelby D. Cook, both of Taylorville, were arrested Sunday for Criminal Damage to Property.

 

35-year-old Theodore M. Fleming, Jr. of Taylorville was arrested Sunday on an active warrant.

 

On Monday, the Pana Police Department reported the following accident to Regional Radio News:


61-year-old Danny L. Jones of Pana was exiting the parking lot at Walmart when he did not see the vehicle driven by 30-year-old Raymond M. Emerson of Ohlman, IL. Jones struck the driver’s side of Emerson’s vehicle, causing minor damage to both units.

34-year-old Chad M. Gaydos of Nilwood, IL was arrested Friday for Possession of a Controlled Substance.


27-year-old Brandon J. Emery of Taylorville was arrested Friday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $2,000.


36-year-old Patrick T. McCaughn of Taylorville was arrested Friday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond iss set at $10,000.


On Monday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:


35-year-old Jared R. Kirkendoll of Herrick was illegally driving a Polaris UTV westbound on 900 N. Rd. on March 16. 29-year-old Michael N. Daigh of Taylorville was behind Kirkendoll. Kirkendoll was turning right into a field, but did not have working brake lights, and Daigh did not see Kirkendoll slowing down because it was dark. Daigh rear-ended Kirkendoll. Kirkendoll was cited for the accident.


23-year-old Shawn P. Long of Windsor was driving eastbound on County Road 10 on March 18 when he says he fell asleep at the wheel and ran off the roadway. He left the roadway just past 1150 E. Rd., and traveled in the bottom of the ditch, hit the enbankment, became airborn and traveled over the stop sign, landed once and bounced into the air again before finally become to rest after travelling off the roadway for more than 500 ft. Long and his passenger were transported to St. John’s Hospital via Morrisonville Ambulance. Once he was released from the hospital, Long was arrested for Aggravated DUI.


17-year-old Paden E. Wicks of Edinburg was leaving his driverway on Thursday when an unknown vehicle ran Wicks off the roadway, causing him to strike a utility pole. He was not hurt.


37-year-old Bruce A. Hiler of Assumption was driving eastbound in the 900 block of E. Leafland St. Sunday when he drove off of the southside of the roadway and went into the yard of a residence on the road. He hit a set of cable and phone boxes before coming to rest when he hit a tree. Hiler was taken to Decatur Memorial Hospital via Assumption Ambulance.

20-year-old Nic A. Reber of Kincaid was arrested Thursday for Possession of Cannabis Between 10-30 Grams.

 

23-year-old Patrick W. Miller of Taylorville was arrested Friday for Violating an Order of Protection.

29-year-old Danielle R. Moffitt of Owaneco was arrested Thursday for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.


17-year-old Ethan A. Durbin of Pana was arrested Thursday for Illegal Possession / Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor.


On Friday, the Pana Police Department reported the following accident to Regional Radio News:


67-year-old Barbara L. Jones of Pana was backing from a driveway in the 100 block of W. 7th St. Thursday when she backed into 68-year-old Jackie J. Kay of Pana, who was eastbound on 7th St.

43-year-old Earl C. Yoakum of Taylorville was arrested Thursday for Driving on Suspended / Revoked License.

47-year-old James M. Welge, Jr. of Taylorville was arrested Wednesday on a Christian County Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $200.

 

20-year-old Christian M. Barrows of Taylorville was arrested Wednesday for Battery.

 

On Thursday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following accident to Regional Radio News:

 

85-year-old Donald D. Allen of Tovey was driving eastbound on W. Spresser St. when he turned into the fairgrounds to turn around to head westbound. While attempting to turn, Allen struck a utility pole on the fairgrounds, causing damage to the driver side mirror. After striking the guard rail, Allen backed and while attempting to hit the brake, he hit the gas pedal and crashed backwards into a ditch. Allen’s vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

 

On Thursday, the Pana Police Department reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:


78-year-old James F. McLeod of Assumption was northbound on Elder Alley Wednesday morning when he failed to yield for the vehicle of 101-year-old Jeffrey D. Litton of Pana. McLeod hit the passenger side of Litton’s vehicle. Both vehicles had minor damage.


An unknown vehicle struck the parked vehicle of 38-year-old Danny L. Gates of Pana sometime between 4 and 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Kitchell Ave. The case is under investigation.

37-year-old Josh B. Keathley of Taylorville was arrested Wednesday for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Obstructing Justice / Destroying Evidence.

 

28-year-old Kelsey J.A. White of Taylorville was arrested Thursday for Possession of Methamphetamine and Fleeing / Attempting to Elude Officers.

64-year-old Gerald Olive of Taylorville was arrested Sunday for Criminal Trespassing.

 

On Tuesday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following accident to Regional Radio News:

 

69-year-old Richard I. Johnson of Taylorville was traveling west on Market St. Saturday when he came to the stop sign at the intersection with Cherokee St. 67-year-old Geroge F. Vuicich of Taylorville was traveling north on Cherokee approaching the same intersection. Johnson did not see Vuicich approaching and proceeded through the intersection. Vuicich hit Johnson, causing damage to both vehicles. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
