Local Area Arrests And Crashes For 06/19/2026

The following area arrests and vehicle crashes were reported to Hart Media Group by the Taylorville on 06/19/2026.

 

TPD ARRESTS:

 

On 06/09/26:


Nathaniel D. Johnson, age 24, of Taylorville, was arrested for Domestic Battery.


On 06/12/26:


A Juvenile Female, age 14, of Taylorville, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.


Rodney K. Smith, age 46, of Morrisonville Illinois, was arrested for DUI.


On 6/13/26:


Caydin D. Gaddis, age 20, of Taylorville, was arrested for Aggravated Domestic Battery and Criminal Damage to Property. 


On 6/14/26:


Alissa L. Sherwood, age 50, of Taylorville, was arrested for DUI.


On 6/16/26:


Michael K. McClain, age 28, of Taylorville, was arrested for Driving While License Revoked.


Jerry L. Burton, age 54, of Taylorville, was arrested for Obstruction of Justice.


Boston Donovan, age 19, of Taylorville, was arrested for Residential Burglary

 

CRASH REPORTS:

 

On 05/18/2026, at approximately 4:18 PM, Robert L. Hefley was traveling south on North Cheney Street, approaching West Elm Street. Heffley slowed to make a right turn onto West Elm Street, when Aron C. Strunk failed to reduce speed and rear ended Hefley. No injuries or othercollisions were reported with this incident and neither vehicle required towing.

 

On 06/02/20206 at approximately 7:06 AM, a Taylorville Police Officer Josh Niles responded to a 2 vehicle collison that occured on Illinois Route 29 near Burnett Boulevard inTaylorville. Officer NIles reports that when arriving on scene tht Chance A. Vires was parked on the side of the road with their hazards lights active. and Sean W. Baker was pulled into the grass just east ot the crash scene, Officer Niles reports that Vires explaind to him that Baker attempted to merge into his lane. When baker merged, Baker's rear bumper struck the front bumper of Vires' vehicle. Officer Niles confirmed that this is what happend with Baker, and Baker did confirm that is what happened. The collision caused Baker to veer off the road and drive into the grass. Both drivers were okay with no injuries and neither vehicle required a tow.

 

On 06/06/2026 Taylorville Police Officer Josh Niles responded to a vehicle collision at the intersection of North Cherokee Street and East Esther Street in Taylorville. Addison A. Beswarick  was driving on Esther Street and attempted to cross Cherokee. Beswarick failed to clear the intersection before attempting to cross Cherokee Street, resulting in the front end of her vehicle to collide with the back end of Jonathan R. Wamsley. Wamsley was riding a motorcycle while Beswarick was driving a Mazda sedan. Officer Niles reports that upon his arrival, Wamsley was resting in a nearby yard as a result of the collision, and Beswarick was in a nearby driveway. Both drivers were able to drive away from the scene, Beswarick was issued a citation for failing to yield to the right of way, and both drivers refused medical treatment. No injuries were reported.
