Cara M. Montgomery, age 47, of Taylorville was arrested on a Warrant, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, and Obstruction of Justice.

11/23/22

Charles R. Warren, age 30, of Taylorville was arrested on a Warrant.

Kaylene S. Reber, age 33, of Taylorville was arrested for Retail Theft.

11/28/22

A Juvenile Female, age 17, of Mt. Auburn Illinois was arrested for Retail Theft.

Crashes

11-21-22 Donald Kloever was traveling westbound on 250 North Road when he failed to yield to make a right hand turn on 2600 East Road. Kloever went off the roadway to the northwest, struck a tree and came to a stop. The vehicle was towed from the scene and Kloever was taken to hospital.

11-11-22 Georgia Ward, age 47, of Kincaid was arrested on a warrant by CCSO for domestic battery.

11-22-22 Jeremy Stark, age 42, of Pana was arrested by Pana PD on a warrant for aggravated battery.

11-22-22 Brandon Stone, age 30, of Pana was arrested by Pana PD on a failure to appear for driving on a suspended license.

11-22-22 Dylan Cline, age 23, of Assumption was arrested by CCSO for domestic battery.

11-24-22 Austin Mayes, age 25, of Taylorville was arrested by Edinburg PD for domestic battery, criminal damage to property, and resisting/obstructing an officer.

11-25-22 Nicholas Rudolph, age 71, of Machesney Park was arrested by Illinois State Police for possession and intent to deliver cannabis.

Crashes

11-19-22 Amanda Fiaoni was traveling north on County 1 in Greenwood township when she struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

11-21-22 Richard Leathers was traveling south on IL 48 in Taylorville when he struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries. No tow.

11-22-22 Joshua Becker and Max Mosley were involved in a traffic crash in Rosamond township. Becker was traveling north on 2000 East Road and proceeded through the intersection with 350 North Road. Mosley was traveling east on 350 North Road. Becker had a stop at 350 North Road and failed to yield to Mosley. As a result Mosley collided into Becker. No injuries. Mosley’s vehicle was towed from the scene.

11-24-22 William Mizeur was traveling southeast on IL Route 29 in Locust township when he struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

11-26-22 Erin Creamer was turning west on 900 North Road from IL Route 29 when she missed the turn. Creamer was found facing north at the bottom of a deep ditch. No injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

11-16-22 Glen Ryerson, age 68 was arrested by Stonington PD for criminal  trespassing.

Crashes

11-17-22 Ashley Poleon and Brandon Watkins were involved in a traffic crash in Bear Creek township. Poleon was traveling southwest on IL Route 48 at approximately 650 N. Watkins was northeast on IL Route 48 at approximately 650 N. Poleon struck a deer, and the deer then struck Watkins. Both vehicles were driven away from the accident. No injuries.

11-17-22 Tiffany McCarty was traveling northbound on US Route 51, approximately 180 feet north of Township Road 1750 N, when a deer entered the highway. McCarty was unable to avoid striking the animal. McCarty received major, front end and passenger side damage. Impact from McCarty striking the deer caused the animal to strike the end of the east side guardrail, causing damage. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

11-11-22 Michelle Dixon, age 29, of Springfield was arrested by CCSO on a FTA warrant for possession of meth.

11-11-22 Benjamin Miller was traveling eastbound on 1900 North Road in Prairieton township when the vehicle met a deer in the roadway. Miller maneuvered missing the deer but missed the T-intersection at 2225 East Road. Miller passed through the intersection hitting the ditch embankment. No injuries. No tow.

11-12-22 Emily Artis was traveling northbound on 1250 East Road in Johnson township when he struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

11-13-22 Desiree Pullen was traveling southeast on IL Route 29 when she struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

11-14-22 Michael Altevogt was traveling east on IL Route 104 in South Fork township when he struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Dotty M. Eppenger, age 35, of Taylorville was arrested for domestic battery.

11/8/22

Ashlyn N. Hrabak, age 25, of Taylorville was arrested on two counts of retail theft.

Brandon A. Durbin, age 31, of Taylorville was arrested on two counts of retail theft.

The Taylorville Police Department responded to the following accidents:

October 27th, 2022 1:55 PM  Megan Johnson of Guilford, Connecticut was heading east on Lake Shore Drive and turned right on Sweeney Dr.  Johnson lost control of their motorcycle and crashed.  Johnson was taken to the hospital by ambulance. 

October 28th, 2022 8:07 AM  Kendy C. Mayes of Taylorville was attempting to turn south on Cheney Street from Springfield Road.  At the time Cheney Street was closed due to construction.  Mayes attempted to merge from the turn lane back to the right lane and struck Jessica E. Avery of Kincaid. No injuries were reported. 

November 3rd, 2022 11:13 AM Heather N. Niemerg of Springfield was traveling west on East Park Street and stopped at the light at the intersection of North Walnut Street when Paul Chamness of Taylorville failed to reduce speed to avoid striking Niemerg.  Niemerg then pulled off of East Park Street and attempted to make contact with the driver of Chamness.  According to police, Chamness said he did not have insurance and had to leave. and failed to provide any personal contact info.  The driver was eventually located and issued citations. 

November 3rd, 2022 11:28 AM Shawntay McConnell of Taylorville was traveling south on Madison St. Walter Harker of Taylorville was traveling west on Franklin St. Harker did not stop at the stop sign on Franklin St. and entered the intersection. McConnell slowed at the stop sign on Madison St. and began entering the intersection. McConnell said she was having an eye contact issue as she was driving. McConnell said she did not see Harker until after Harker was struck. Harker was in the intersection when McConnell struck Harker. Harker was ejected from the tri-cycle and he landed on the ground. Harker received a head injury and was bleeding from the head. Harker was transported to Springfield Memorial Hospital by Dunn's Ambulance. McConnell was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Harker will be issued a ciatation for disobeying stop sign when he is able to leave the hospital.

11-7-22 Frank Sedlock, age 36, of Taylorville was arrested by CCSO on a FTA warrant for criminal damage to property.

11-7-22 Mariah Gilbert, age 24, of Illiopolis was arrested by CCSO on a FTA warrant for driving suspended.

11-6-22 Joseph Beeson, age 37, of Taylorville was arrested by CCSO for possession of meth.

11-2-22 Vincent Mills was involved in a traffic crash in Taylorville township. Mills was traveling East on 1625 North Road at about 875 East where the road curves to the South when he missed the curve and traveled off the road, through the ditch and into the plowed field. Mills came to rest in the plowed field. The vehicle was towed from the scene. No injuries.

11-4-22 Arsiga Martinez and Lacy Stigers were involved in a traffic crash in Pana township. Stigers was westbound on 100 N RD. Martinez was eastbound on 100 N RD. Stigers stated that Martinez was on her side of the roadway. Stigers stated that she was in the ditch trying to avoid Martinez. Martinez struck the driver’s side mirror of Stigers. Both mirrors were damaged in the accident. Martinez stated that he was in his lane when the accident happened. No tow. No injuries.

Dennis W. Coghlan, age 33, of Taylorville was arrested on a Warrant.

Brandie L. Jordan, age 45, of Taylorville was arrested for Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer.

11/05/22

Tyler Stevens, age 24, of Springfield Illinois was arrested for DUI.

11/06/22

Martina I. Lyles, age 28 of Assumption Illinois was arrested for Battery.

10-31-22 Keffery Cothern, age 35, of Pana was arrested by CCSO on a warrant for domestic battery.

10-31-22 Wyatt Batty, age 23, of Stonington was arrested by CCSO on a FTA warrant for criminal trespassing.

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

Taylorville Police responded to the following motor vehicle accidents

September 23rd: 11:23 PM  Jenna Poelker of Stonington emerged from a parking space near the northeastern side of the Christian County Courthouse striking a seperate vehicle which was legally parked on the opposite side of the roadway.  Poelker was placed under arrest for DUI, subsequent to Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. No injuries were reported. 

October 6th, 2022.  Todd Vinard of Griggsville and Andrew Semelka of Decatur were both at the Mach 1 Convenience Store at Route 104/Route 29 Unit 2 pulled out on the north side of the parking lot onto Route 104 heading east at the light towards Route 29.   Vinard pulled out behind Semelka and stated that their foot slipped off of the brake causing the vehicle to roll into Semelka's at the intersection. 

October 6th, 2022 Savannah Ralston of Taylorville stated she was stopped at a red light on Springfield Road facing southbound.  Matthew Beck of Springfield apparently never hit the brakes slamming into the back of Ralston's car.  Beck was transported via ambulance to St. John's Hospital in Springfield.  Beck was also issued multiple citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured vehicle, driving while license suspended, and DUI. 

October 7th, 2022  Kirk F. Woods of Pana was traveling directly behind Kristopher L. Willings of Edinburg when both vehicles had to stop at the beginning of a work zone on Route 29.  Woods failed to reduce speed crashing into the back of Willings.  Woods was transported to TMH for evaluation and cited for failure to reduce speed.   

October 26th, 2022 A minor from Taylorville was completing a left turn northbound onto North Sportsman Street from Western Avenue, when Autumn Owens of Riverton entered the intersection. Both vehicles collided. Owens was issued a citation for failure to yield at an intersection. 

October 26th, 2022 Dennis Smith of Taylorville was heading north on Cheney Street.  Nicholas B. Paul of Taylorville was heading west on Market Street.  Paul did not see the stop sign because it was obstructed by a tree.  Paul struck the passenger side of Smith.  Smith was transported to TMH.  Paul was issued a citation for disobeying a traffic control device.
