The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests and accidents to Regional Radio News on Friday:

33 year old Ryan Stolz of Decatur was in an accident on August 29th at 10:50 at night. Stolz was northbound on county road 1900 east. As he approached the intersection of 2975 north the driver failed to stop at the intersection and entered the north ditch. Stolz then made a half circle through a bean field and drove back out towards the roadway. Stolz came to a rest in the ditch facing north. Stolz recieved front end damage to his vehicle, and it was towed from the scene.

28 year old Ryan West of Nokomis and 61 year old Majeshwar Prabu of Taylorville were in an accident on Ausgust 30th at 5:02 in the afternoon. West and Prabu were traveling southbound on route 48. West stated that on scene he fell asleep and rear ended Prabu. Prabu’s vehicle was driveable, but West had to be towed from the scene. West was issued a citation on the scene, and no injuries were reported.

28 year old John Sexton of Lake City, and 56 year old Daniel Winter of Decatur were in an accident on August 30th at 3:33 in the afternoon. Sexton and Winter were travedling northbound on Route 48. Sexton rear ended Winter, and both units were able to drive away from the scene. Sexton was issued a citation.

41 year old Nicolas Dooley of Pana was arrested on Friday on a charge of ciminal trespass to land.

36 year old Lawrence Houseman Jr. of Pana was in an accident on August 25th at 9:28 at night. Houseman was traveling northbound on Illinois US Highway 51. Houseman state that a black truck pulled out of the intersection of 778 North crossing over the highway heading east. Houseman swerved out of the way and slid into the median, losing control. Houseman was transported to Pana Community Hospital for injuries. Houseman’s car was towed from the scene by Rose City Towing.

54 year old John Gardner of Taylorville and 65 year old Lloyd Nichols of Moweaqua were in an accident on August 24th at 3:10 in the afternoon. Gardner was traveling east on County 10, and Nichols was traveling north on route 48. Gardner stopped at the stop sign and did not see Nichols. Gardner pulled into the highway hitting Nichol’s vehicle.

24 year old Brett Bryson of Taylorville was arrested on Sunday on a charge of domestic battery.

19 year old Sierra Willis of Pana was arrested on Friday on a charge of Possession of methamphetamine.

25 year old Justin McKay of Taylorville was arrested on Friday on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, and driving on a revoked license.

50 year old Jessie Lacy of Taylorville was arrested on Friday on a charge of aggravated battery in a public place.

35 year old Jacob Banning of Pana was arrested on Friday on a charge of domestic battery causing bodily harm.

40 year old Cleat Davis of Taylorville was arrested on Saturday on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.

16 year old Brantley Riley of Pana was in an accident on August 22nd. Riley was traveling northbound on 2700 E road. Riley traveled off the roadway to the right and struck a utility pole. Riley was injured and taken to Pana hospital by a Pana ambulance. Riley’s vehicle was towed by Rose city. Riley was issued one citation.

20 year old Madeline Peck of Taylorville was arrested on Friday on a charge of failure to appear, or answer question.

41 year old Jennifer Bates of Decatur was arrested on Thursday on a charge of failure to appear, or answer question.

33 year old Ray Thomas of Springfield was arrested on Thursday on a charge of unlawful use of a weapon, criminal damage to property, and reckless discharge of a firearm.

45 year old Brian Richers of Fort Madison was in an accident on August 21st at 5:15 in the morning. Richers was traveling south bound in the right lane. A deer entered the roadway from the east. Richers hit the deer in the roadway according to the accident report.

62 year old Larry Odell of Chatham, and 36 year old Philip Schneider of Taylorville were in an accident on August 21st at 9:44 in the morning. According to the Sheriff’s report, Odell was north bound on county road 1. Schneider was also heading northbound on county 1. Schneider was also towing a corn head on a head mover. Odell was trying to pass Schneider, but there was oncoming traffic, and Odell struck the rear of Schneiders corn head. Both Schneider’s vehicle, and the corn head recieved major damage in the collision. Neither driver of the vehicle was injured.

41 year old Danielle Coady-Johnson of Taylorville was arrested on Wednesday on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

On August 12th there was an accident on West Spresser Street in Taylorville at approximately 3:00 in the morning. Unit 2 and Unit 3 were both parked facing south in the parking lot behind the Y-Zoe’s bar on 1610 West Spresser Street. Unit 1 drove into the parking lot and struck the rear end of both vehicles. Unit 2 received damage on the driver’s side rear bumper. Unit 3 received damage to the rear bumper and the rear passenger side tail light. Unit 1 drove out of the parking lot and left the scene of the accident without being identified. The only information about unit 1 is that it may have been a white van.

17 year old Bradly Morrissey of Taylorville, and 47 year old Kelly Hall of Taylorville were in an accident on August 17th at 7:44 in the morning. According to the accident report, Morrissey was stopped at the intersection of Taft Street and Springfield Road. Hall was driving west on Springfield road. Morrissey turned left onto Springfield and struck Hall. No vehicles were towed from the scene and there were no passengers involved.

57 year old Carl Castle of Taylorville was in an accident on August 19th at 1:39 in the morning. Castle was traveling westbound in the 400 block of West Franklin Street. Castle crossed into another lane of traffic and hit an unoccupied vehicle. Castle left the scene and was located at the intersection of West Franklin and Shumway. Castle had damage to the left front fender, driver side door, left front tire, and undercarriage. The unoccupied vehicle sustained damage in the front. Castle was arrested for driving while under the influence, and was towed by Taylorville towing.

72 year old Princess Dilley of Tovey was arrested on Monday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

40 year old Derrick Nance of Tovey was in an accident on August 15th at 11 in the morning. According to the accident report, Nance was northbound on Township Road 300 East. A deer ran into the path of his vehicle, and Nance swerved to miss the deer, and struck a ditch. There were no injuries to report, and no passengers.

56 year old Evelyn Cloe of Tower Hill, and 48 year old Angela Dunn of Carlinville were in an accident August 16th at 5:51 in the afternoon. Cloe was traveling north on county highway 1 when she stopped at the stop sign on Illinois Route 48, and proceeded across the intersection. Dunn was traveling southwest on Illinois route 48, and the two vehicles made contact at the intersection. Cloe received passenger side rear damage, and Dunn received front end passenger side damage. Both vehicles were able to drive away from the scene and all occupants were unharmed.

27 year old Christopher Eberhart of Cameron was in an accident on August 18th at 11:45 in the morning. Eberhart was traveling westbound on Illinois Route 16. Eberhart stated that he began to feel the front of his vehicle to shave, and his car veered to the left. According to the report, Eberhart exited the roadway on the left side, and entered the the south drainage ditch. No injuries were reported, but Eberhart received front end damage on his vehicle.

59 year old Stephen Peel of Edinburg was in an accident on August 18th at 5:37 in the afternoon. Peel was traveling east on Franklin Street when he ran off the road into a yard. Peel hit a phone box, then crossed Sheridan Street. Then, Peel hit a stop sign and went down into a ditch embankment and back onto the roadway. Peel’s vehicle had major front end damage.

20 year old Logan Beck of Tower Hill was arrested on Saturday on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, and possession of cannabis.

22 year old Molly Holthaus of Pana, 31 year old Gregory Presnell of Nokomis, and 29 year old Tiffany Freier of Shelbyville were in an accident on August 11th at 10:38 in the morning. All units were traveling westbound on the 1200 block of East Park Street. A squad car with its lights on was traveling eastbound, and everyone began to pull over. According to the accident report, Holthaus said that everyone had stopped, and she had struck the rear end of Presnell causing damage. That then caused Presnell to strike the drivers side of Freier. According to the accident report Freier said that she was pulling back into traffic when she was hit. Presnell’s son was struck by some glass and sent to TMH by ambulance. Holthaus received a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

18 year old Carson Heberling of Taylorville, and 21 year old Eric Logue of Ohlman were in an accident on August 11th at 1:54 in the afternoon. According to the police report, Logue was stopped at a red light traveling northwest on Springfield road. Heberling failed to reduce speed, and struck the rear of Logue. There were no reports on an injury on the scene, and both units were able to drive away. Heberling was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News.

48-year-old Michael L. Kibler of Gays, was arrested on July 22nd at 12:01 in the morning, for possession of a fireram by a felon, after Deputies were called to a rural Gays residence on a complaint of Kibler shooting a firearm and threatening persons with it at the residence.  Kibler was arrested without incident and housed in the Shelby County Detention Center awaiting his first appearance in court.

51-year-old Bobby G. Beck of Herrick, was arrested by Shelby County Deputies on July 26th at 12:30 in the afternoon, for driving under the influence while operating a vehicle on County Road Zero North and South Austin Street in Herrick.  He was taken to the Shelby County Detention Center and posted bond.

37-year-old Melinda E. Roman of Bloomington, was arrested by Shelby County Deputies on August 2nd at 2 in the afternoon, in the village of Moweaqua.  She was charged with driving under the influence while she was operating her vehicle in the 800 block of North Putnam Street in Moweaqua.  She was taken to the Shelby County Detention Center where she later posted bond.

And, 33-year-old Jonathan L. Schrodt of Keensburg, was arrested on August 8th at 2:30 in the morning in rural Holland Township near Mode (MOHD).  Deputies say he was out of gas, and on further investigation was found to be in possession of meth, and also possessing a firearm without a FOID card.  He was taken to the Shelby County Detention Center.

ON WEDNESDAY, THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ACCIDENT:

On Monday, Brittany Spencer, 22, of Taylorville, Crystal Robbins, 47, of Taylorville and Zachary Cook, 18, of Taylorville were involved in an accident. Cook and Robbins stopped in traffic on Rt. 29 at Pershing Road heading east. Spencer did not reduce speed to avoid an accident and struck Robbins in the rear end which caused Robbins to Strike Cook in the rear end. Spencer's 2004 Pontiac was towed from the scene. Spencer had two passengers who refused medical treatment. Robbins refused medical treatment but drove herself to the hospital to be examined. Cook also refused medical treatment. Cook was able to drive away from the scene.

Jessica Ford of Illiopolis was in an accident on July 29th at approximately 9:19 at night. Ford was traveling Northbound on 1300 East road. She drove off the road and into a ditch at 2250 North. Ford traveled through the ditch and her car became overturned and came to a rest on its top on the east side of 1300 East Road. Ford refused medical treatment on the scene, and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Ford’s vehicle was towed from the scene.

44 year old Michael Dodson of Pana was arrested on Friday on a charge of domestic battery.

30 year old Bradley Stimac of Edinburg was arrested on Thursday on a charge of domestic battery causing bodily harm.

32 year old Michael Pitman of Girard was arrested on Thursday on a charge of possesion of a controlled substance, and possession of methamphetamine.

39 year old Douglas Cowell of Taylorville was arrested on Thursday on a charge of violating an order of protection.

26 year old Garret Ess of Taylorville, 20 year old Lindsey Hill of Kincaid, and 19 year old Lauren Suiter of Taylorville were in an accident on July 31st at 5:03 in the afternoon. Hill and Suiter were stopped in traffic at the intersection of Springfield Road and Taft street facing east. Ess was approaching from behind both units. According to a witness, Ess hit the brakes, but just before impact. Ess was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Ess and Hill’s vehicles were towed from the scene. All drivers refused medical attention at the scene.

16 year old Rylee Miller of Taylorville, and 45 year old Denise Burke of Taylorville were in an accident on August 2nd at 11:57 in the morning. According to the accident report,Miller thought that Burke was in a turn lane, not a regular lane causing an accident between the two vehicles. Miller was cited for failure to yield turning left. Burke was sent to Taylorville Memorial Hospital in a personal vehicle. Burke’s vehicle was also towed from the scene. There were no passengers involved in the accident.

34 year old Michael Alberts of Taylorville was arrested on Wednesday on a charge of domestic battery causing bodily harm.

27 year old Steven Durbin of Taylorville was arrested on Wednesday on a charge of battery

27 year old Gary Hayes of Springfield was arrested on Wednesday on a charge of failing to notify an accident.

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests and accidents to Regional Radio News on Thursday:

74 year old Thomas McLaughlin of Taylorville and 21 year old Harlie Rice of Taylorville were in an accident at approximately 7:40 in the morning on July 26th. According to the Sheriff’s report, Rice was traveling east on Park Street and was passing by Casey’s. McLaughlin was attempting to pull out of Casey’s and did not see Rice, and the two cars collided. Both vehicles were able to drive away from the scene. McLaughlin had three passengers in his car, Carole McLaughlin, 68, Christine Peck, 38, and Marlene Peck, 2. Rice had one passenger in his car, Michael Blake, 30.

67 year old Stephanie Streitmatter of Princeville and 36 year old Jodi Hendricks of Taylorville were in an accident on August 1st at approximately 5:53 in the afternoon. Hendricks was heading southwest on Main Cross Street at the intersection of Park Street. Streitmatter was heading west on Park Street at the intersection of Main Cross. According to the accident report, Streitmatter said that she could not see the traffic light while approaching the intersection because the sun was in her eyes. Hendricks proceeded through the intersection with a green light, and struck Streitmatter’s vehicle near the back passenger tire. Streitmatter was issued a citation for disobeying a traffic control device. Hendricks was towed from the scene. Streitmatter had 4 passengers, Dennis Streitmatter, 48, Kenedi Streitmatter, 17, Keenan Streitmatter, 19, and Tasha Streitmatter, 17. Both drivers refused medical attention.

54 year old June Cooper of Taylorville was arrested on Wednesday on a Christian County Warrant.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests and accidents to Regional Radio News on Wednesday:

23 year old Jack Fulk of Stonington was in an accident on July 31st at approximately 11:05 at night. According to the Sheriff’s report, Fulk said that he was traveling west bound on 2300 East and 1200 North, and he failed to negotiate the curve. Fulk’s vehicle rolled over, and he was transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital in an Assumption Ambulance.

57 year old Mandy Goss of Springfield was in a car accident on July 30th at approximately 6:46 in the evening. According to the Sheriff’s report, a vehicle was parked in Access 1 parking lot at Sangchrist Lake. Herman pulled into the parking lot, and struck the parked vehicle multiple times before leaving the scene. According to the driver of the parked car, they believe that Lori Herman was the driver of the vehicle who struck their car.

63 year old Christene Smith of Owaneco was arrested on Tuesday on a charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

46 year old Shawn Harshani of Pana was arrested on Wednesday on a charge of failing to appear or answer question.
