Area Arrests And Accidents 11/10/22

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

11/7/22

Dotty M. Eppenger, age 35, of Taylorville was arrested for domestic battery.

 

11/8/22

 

Ashlyn N. Hrabak, age 25, of Taylorville was arrested on two counts of retail theft.

 

Brandon A. Durbin, age 31, of Taylorville was arrested on two counts of retail theft.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to the following accidents:

 

October 27th, 2022 1:55 PM  Megan Johnson of Guilford, Connecticut was heading east on Lake Shore Drive and turned right on Sweeney Dr.  Johnson lost control of their motorcycle and crashed.  Johnson was taken to the hospital by ambulance. 

 

October 28th, 2022 8:07 AM  Kendy C. Mayes of Taylorville was attempting to turn south on Cheney Street from Springfield Road.  At the time Cheney Street was closed due to construction.  Mayes attempted to merge from the turn lane back to the right lane and struck Jessica E. Avery of Kincaid. No injuries were reported. 

 

November 3rd, 2022 11:13 AM Heather N. Niemerg of Springfield was traveling west on East Park Street and stopped at the light at the intersection of North Walnut Street when Paul Chamness of Taylorville failed to reduce speed to avoid striking Niemerg.  Niemerg then pulled off of East Park Street and attempted to make contact with the driver of Chamness.  According to police, Chamness said he did not have insurance and had to leave. and failed to provide any personal contact info.  The driver was eventually located and issued citations. 

 

November 3rd, 2022 11:28 AM Shawntay McConnell of Taylorville was traveling south on Madison St. Walter Harker of Taylorville was traveling west on Franklin St. Harker did not stop at the stop sign on Franklin St. and entered the intersection. McConnell slowed at the stop sign on Madison St. and began entering the intersection. McConnell said she was having an eye contact issue as she was driving. McConnell said she did not see Harker until after Harker was struck. Harker was in the intersection when McConnell struck Harker. Harker was ejected from the tri-cycle and he landed on the ground. Harker received a head injury and was bleeding from the head. Harker was transported to Springfield Memorial Hospital by Dunn's Ambulance. McConnell was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Harker will be issued a ciatation for disobeying stop sign when he is able to leave the hospital.
