On Wednesday the Christian County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News.  

 

73 year old Benjamin P. Fribley of Assumption was arrested on Sunday for contempt of court.

 

40 year old Mark A. Hendrick of Morrisonville was arrested on Tuesday for possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material.  

 

66 year old Gary E. Thompson of Assumption was arrested on Tuesday for stalking.

16CF064 - Merritt, Eric J. - Pre-Trial - Defendant asked for furlough order so defendant could attend a drug rehab program. Direct Furlough order granted with GPS Monitor ordered to be worn while out on furlough. Pre-Trial moved to June 2nd.

16CF047 - Farley, Christopher R. - Appearance with Counsel - Defendant requested prelim hearing. Prelim hearing set for June 16th.

 

16CF083 - Richards, Kyle K. - First Appearance - Public defender appointed. Next court date May 19th.

 

16CF059 - Loflin, Michael P. - Prelim Hearing/Bond Reduction - Defendant waived prelim hearing. Bond reduced to $25,000 with special conditions. Jury Trial set for June 20th. Pretrial June 2nd.

 

16CF107 - Eveland, John W. - First Appearance - State argued for detainment giving details on case, and stating prior criminal record. Bond set at $7500 with special terms and conditions. Defendant appointed a public defender. Emergency order of protection filed. Next court date May 3rd.

 

It was origionally posted that Brian C. McCoy, case number 10CF209 had appeared in court this date. Further information proves that that was incorrect, and has since been retracted from our story.

16CF070 - Noe, Robert J. - First Appearance - Filed financial affidavid to request public defender. Public defender appointed. Next court date May 23rd.

 

16CF002 - Price, Gregory L. - Pre-Trial - Defendant filed motion for bond reduction. Case continued until April 21st for pre-trial and motion on bond reduction.

 

15CF188 - Smith, Harley L. - Pre-Trial - Defendant pleaded guilty as charged. Placed on 2 years probation. $25 per month probation fee.

 

15CF123 - Thompson, Gary M. Jr - Pre-Trial - Negotiated guilty plea. Count 1 dismissed. Defendant sentenced to 18 months probation.

16CF077 - Best, Kylie R. - Prelim Hearing - Defendant waived prelim hearing rights. Motion to reduce bond as well as pretrial set for April 21st.

16CF059 - Lofflin, Michael P. - Prelim Hearing - Defendant filed motion for bond reduction. Prelim hearing continued until April 18th so state has a chance to review new material presented for bond reduction.

These are the results of the following court cases on Friday, April 8th at the Christian County Courthouse.

 

16CF93 - McKay, Justin M. - Motion to reduce bail. - State stated how state agreed to reduce bond to 10k. Defendant testified stating how he believes he can come up with $500. Defendant argued that if released he could re-gain employment, and that due to lack of previous felony record he’s not a flight risk. Bond reduced to $7500. Matter set for prelim hearing on April 21st.

 

14CF164 - Carnahan, Amanda R. - Petition to revoke being filed - Stated how defendant failed probation conditions. Defendant requested public defender. Public defender appointed. Defendant asked to be released to have time to get matters in order to attend rehab. Request was denied.

 

16CF97 - Harris, Audra L. - First appearance - Prelim hearing set for May 12th.


16CF96 - Waddington, Luke W. - First appearance - Prelim hearing set for May 19th.

2016CF000075 - Cowell, Douglas W - Motion for bond reduction - Douglas Cowell testified. Said if released he would be employed by father, would live with parents, and that he has children to support. Cited former mental health issues. Agreed to home confinement and a GPS monitor with drug testing and regular taking of medication. State opposed motion to reduce bond. Argued that Cowell presents a threat to the protected party, and that that is the reason for bond. Court denied defendents motion for bond reduction stating willingness or inability to confine to court orders.

 

2015CF000140 - Hoffman, Amanda G - Set date for pre-trial - Pretrial set for May 10th

 

2016CF000059 - Loflin, Michael P - Prelim Hearing - date set for April 14th. Defending party requested a reduction of bail. Mother testified. Stated that she believes her son is innocent and that she would post his bond, however her son would not stay with her. Michael Lofflin testified. Said if he was released he would be willing to be placed on electronic home confinement and that he would stay with his grandmother. Court denied defendents request for reduction of bail.

 

2016CF000093 - McKay, Justin M - First appearance - Prelim hearing set for April 21st. Requested hearing for bond reduction. Date set for April 8th.

 

2016CF000092 - Patnode, Danielle E - Completed detox. Granted deferral. New date set for May 12th

 

2016CF000042 - Stivers, Robert A - Documents tendered in court. Motion to annoint a private investigator. Motion granted with limit set at $3000. Motion for prelim hearing transcript. Motion for bond reduction. Mr Stivers testified. Stated he wanted bond reduction so he can be with his brother for open heart surgury. State opposed motion, stating that he is charged with aggrivated battery of a child that resulted in the death of a child, hence bond was set appropriately. Court denied request for bond reduction.


2016CF000080 - Natasha Lee - Bond Reduction - Defendant testified. Stated she has no prior criminal record. Said she has friends who could post $500 on a $5000 bond. State wouldn’t agree to $5000 bond. Would agree to a furlough to defendant to an inpaitent treatment facility. Court reduced bond to $15000 and approved furlough upon acceptance to admission of program. Probation ordered to assist defendant in inpatient treatment program. Matter remains set for prelim hearing.
