Christian County Court Cases 04/27/2023

The following court cases were heard on April 27th, 2023:

 

Christopher Boelling: Defendant present with Public Defender Herkert and State's Prosecuter DePaepe present. Negotiated plea presented and approved by the Court, whereby Defendant pleads guilty to the charge of burglary. By agreement, Defendant sentenced to two years probabation, 120 days in jail with 47 days served. Jail sentence stayed until 5-1-23 at 12 p.m. Defendant ordered to pay the fine and assessments set forth in the financial sentencing order. Pay or appear hearing scheduled for 6-28-23 at 9 a.m. Defendant need not appear if paid in full.

 

Billy Brown: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 6-22-23 at 10 a.m. By agreement, bond reduced to $5,000 in person.

Christian County Court Cases 04/25/2023

The following court cases were heard on April 25th, 2023:

 

Paul Allen Jr.: Defendant present with Public Defender Grigsby and State's Prosecutor DePaepe present. Negotiated plea presented and approved by the Court, whereby Defendant pleads guilty to the charge of aggravated battery (Count 1). Count II dismissed per plea. Judgment of conviction entered. By agreement, Defendant sentenced to 2 years probation, 68 days in jail with credit for 34 days served and is ordered to pay the fine and assessments as set forth in the FSO. Bond to apply.

 

George Bailey: Defendant present in person with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. In person pretrial hearing scheduled for 6-19-23 at 11 a.m.

Defendant present with counsel and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 9-19-23 at 1:15 p.m.

Defendant present with counsel and State's Attorney present. By agreement, final pretrial hearing scheduled for 9-19-23 at 1:15 p.m. Jury trial scheduled for 10-2-123 at 8:30 a.m. Both hearings are in person. Parties ordered to file pretrial motions at least 30 days before the jury trial to be heard at the final pretrial hearing. Trial in abstentia admonition given.

Debbie Horn: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. Over objection of State, motion for furlough granted conditional on the execution of a HIPAA order and order for treatment. Pretrial hearing set for 6-2-23 at 10 a.m.

 

Alonzo Hoyer: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing scheduled for 5-15-23 at 10 a.m. State did answer discovery and made plea offer. Defendant has sentencing hearing in Effingham County 5-10-23.

 

Steve Kampwerth: Defendant present remotely pro se and SP Havera present. Defendant is in counseling and will get status report to his probation officer. Status hearing 5-22-23 at 10 a.m.

 

David Moma: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing continued to 5-26-23 at 10 a.m.

 

Gilbert Neal: Defendant fails to appear. Warrant to issue. Geographic limits of the warrant are Christian County and surrounding counties. Bond set at $5,000.

 

Alyssa Richardson: Defendant present with counsel and State's Attorney present. By agreement, pretrial hearing scheduled for 6-23-23 at 10 a.m. in person.

 

Justin Sherman: Defendant present with Public Defender and SP Havera present. Negotiated plea presented and approved by the Court, whereby Defendant pleads guilty to the charge of aggravated battery. Judgment of conviction entered. By agreement, Defendant sentenced to 2 years in IDOC followed by one year of MSR with 43 days credit time served. Defendant assessed fine, restitution and assesments as set forth in the FSO. Bond and incidentals in all pending matters transferred to the cases he is pleading guilty in and any pending bonds to apply which will pay all matters in full.

 

Matthew Tarrant: Defendant present counsel and State's Attorney present. Defendant knowingly and voluntarily waives arraignment, pleads not guilty, and demands trial by jury. Pretrial hearing scheduled for 6-24-23 at 10 a.m. in all pending matters.

 

William Thomas: Defedant present in custody with PD Senger and SP Havera present. Case called for hearing on furlough motion. Motion argued and granted over objection of State conditioned on a HIPAA waiver and furlough order with specific information on treatment. Defendant ordered not released for furlough until all conditions satisfied. Status hearing set for 6-13-23 at 10 a.m. 

 

Damon Trumpy: Defendant present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. By agreement, in person sentencing hearing scheduled for 5-19-23 at 1:15 p.m. Defendant admonished re-sentencing in absence.

Christian County Court Cases 04/21/2023

The following court cases were heard on April 21st, 2023:

 

Kyle Adkins: Defendatn present with Public Defender and State's Attorney present. State's motion to dismiss is granted.

 

Matthew Beck: Defendant present with counsel and SP DePaepe present. Negotiated
plea presented and approved by the Court, whereby Defendant pleads guilty to the charge of possession of methamphetamine (Count I). Remaining counts dismissed pursuant to negotiated plea. By agreement, Defendant sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of corrections followed by one year of mandatory supervised release, to be served at the rate of 50%, with credit for 271 days served. Defendants assessed the fine and assessments set forth in the financial sentencing order. Bond in any cases order to be applied in any remaining balance to be sent to collections. Sentence to run concurrent to the sentence imposed in 21-CF-219. See written orders.

By agreement, Defendant sentenced to 2 years in the Illinois Department of corrections followed by up to one year of mandatory supervised release, to be served at the rate of 50%, with credit for 0 days served. Defendants assessed the fine and assessments set forth in the financial sentencing order. Bond in any cases order to be applied in any remaining balance to be sent to collections. Negotiated plea presented and approved by the court, whereby Defendant pleads guilty to the charge of unlawful possession of weapon by felon (Count III). Remaining counts dismissed. Judgment of conviction entered. By agreement, Defendant sentenced to 3 years IDOC plus 1 year MSR with CTS of 172 days. Defendant assessed a $20,000 fine plus assessments. Bond to apply. Any remaining balance sent to collections.
