17CF093 - Troy L. Cota - Domestic Battery with a Prior - Pre-trial. He is incarcerated Sangamon County. Pre-trial rescheduled for November 2 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF057 - Gabriel I. Crews - Forgery - Pre-trial. Also a civil citation and two traffic charges. Jury trial and pre-trial are continued. Trial now scheduled for February, and next pre-trial scheduled for February 12 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF165 - Joseph L. Ishmael - Residential Burglary and Theft Between $10,000 and $100,000 - Pre-trial. Also 17CF142, Aggravated Domestic Battery, Domestic Battery with a Prior, and Criminal Trespassing to Residence with Person Present.

 

17CF014 - Robert L. King - Fraud - Pre-trial. Both sides still negotiating, they are looking at a significant amount of restitution. Defense counsel asks to continue pre-trial and jury trial. Jury trial scheduled for February, pre-trial scheduled for February 5 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF225 - Timothy S. Kinsella - Possession of a Controlled Substance - First Appearance with Counsel. Preliminary hearing is requested and scheduled for November 16 at 10 a.m. Bond date scheduled for tomorrow is proceeded on today. Defense testifies on his own behalf. Defense asks for recognizance bond. Motion is denied without prejudice. State is willing to give defendant a furlough to get treatment if he can find a bed.

 

17CF100 - Quinton L. Morrissey - First Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery - Pre-trial. Defense counsel has hired an investigator that is interviewing witnesses. Defense counsel is also looking to hire a forensic pathologist to look at the autopsy report. Counsel asks for further pre-trial in December, pre-trial set for December 11 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF181 - Anita L. Parsons - Theft Between $500 and $10,000 - Preliminary Hearing. Deanna Hardin with State Police sworn to testify. Probable cause is found. Jury trial scheduled for February, pre-trial scheduled for February 12 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF018 - Kevin M. Rensman - Aggravated Battery and Violating a Protection Order - Plea. Also a traffic charge. State needs more time for paperwork, plea scheduled for October 24 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF199 - Cody R. Schumacher - Manufacturing / Delivery of a Controlled Substance Between 50 and 200 Grams - First Appearance with Counsel. Preliminary hearing scheduled for December 14 at 10 a.m.

Defense requests trial by jury in February. That is scheduled and pre-trial is scheduled for February 5 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF145 - Dustin A. Castle -Bad Checks Charge - First Appearance with Counsel. Preliminary hearing scheduled for December 11 at 10 a.m.

 

16CF004- Fred L. Delahunt -Possession of Meth Less Than 5 Grams - Petition to Revoke / Pre-trial. First appearance with counsel scheduled for November 17 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF042 - Blake A. Griffin - Failure to Appear in Court - Appearance. Defendant tells court he was in hospital for two weeks. State says they would be ok with releasing defendant into home confinement. Bond set at $10,000, but is a recognizance bond. Next court date scheduled for December 6 at 9 a.m.

 

17CF225 - Timothy S. Kinsella - Possession of a Controlled Substance - First Appearance. Charge was read. Probable cause was given. State requests bond at $5,000 and it is granted. Public defender is appointed, first appearance with counsel scheduled for October 23 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF166 - Audrie L. Leach - Theft Between $10,000 and $100,000 - First Appearance with Counsel. Preliminary hearing scheduled for December 11 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF197 - Shirley D. Ostermeier - Possession of Meth Less Than 5 Grams - First Appearance. Charge read to defendant. Defense requests public defender and is appointed. First appearance with counsel scheduled for November 28 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF146 - Tyrone A. Powyszynski - Criminal Damage to Government Property Less Than $500 - First Appearance with Counsel. He is close to hiring an attorney. First appearance scheduled for December 12 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF097 - Julie E. Woods - Theft of Motor Fuel Less Than $150 - First Appearance. Defendant asks for time to talk with state. Next appearance scheduled for December 1 at 10 a.m.

16CF010 - Joshua M. Sams - Retail Theft Less Than $300 - Status Hearing. Next court date scheduled for Thursday November 2 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF123 - Dylan L. Carroll - Aggravated Battery - Pre-trial. Also 16CF204, Criminal Damage to Government Property Less Than $500, and multiple traffic charges. State has made an offer to resolve all matters to defendant. Next court date scheduled for January 4 at 10 a.m.

16CF092 - Danielle E. Patnode - Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Syringe / Needle / etc. - Petition to Revoke / Pre-trial. Also 16CM083 - Retail Theft Less Than $300. She is currently getting drug treatment. A court date will be set at a later date once she is released.

 

16CF228 - Antonio L. Thompson - Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Meth Less Than 5 Grams - Pre-trial. Also three traffic charges. State has made an offer to defendant. Next pre-trial scheduled for November 13 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF111 - Justin M. Bright - Domestic Battery With a Prior and Aggravated Battery in a Public Place - Pre-trial. ALso 17CF109 - Criminal Trespassing to Residence with Person Present and 2 counts of Battery, 17CF008 - Possession of Meth Less Than 5 Grams, and multiple traffic charges. They are seeking drug court, but no parties know the status of that. Next pre-trial scheduled for October 26 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF033 - Damin L. Barrett - Possession of Meth Less Than 5 Grams and Felony Possession of a Firearm - Pre-trial. Negotiated plea has been reached. Defense counsel and defendant have agreed on the years, but not on the money to be forfeited. Plea continued to October 17 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF080 - John E. Thomas III - Possession of Meth Less Than 5 Grams and Forgery - Pre-trial. Also multiple traffic charges. Next pre-trial scheduled for January 5 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF120 - Shayne E. O’Dell - Domestic Battery with a Prior - Pre-trial. Also two traffic charges. Both sides believe a negotiated plea will be reached. Negotiated plea scheduled for October 19 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF124 - Marissa P. Shoraga - Obstructing Justice - First Appearance with Counsel. Also two traffic charges. Preliminary hearing is waived, so is formal arraignment. Defense pleads not guilty, and asks for pre-trial only as defense is anticipating an offer from the state. Next court date scheduled for November 20 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF130 - Gerald L. Olive - Aggravated Battery and Aggravated Battery of a Child / Disabled Person - Pre-trial. Also a civil violation. Status hearing scheduled for November 3 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF190 - Markes N. Rodgers - Attempted Murder and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm - Preliminary Hearing. Defendant waives preliminary hearing on both charges. Formal arraignment is waived, defendant pleads not guilty, asks for trial by jury. Jury trial scheduled for January 29. Pre-trial scheduled for November 21 at 10 a.m.

17CF201 - Brandy L. Miles - Burglary - Preliminary Hearing. Preliminary Hearing is waived, formal arraignment is waived, defendant pleads not guilty and requests pre-trial only at this time. Pre-trial scheduled for December 18 at 10 a.m.

17CF214 - Gerardo R. Casco - Forgery - Motion to Reduce Bail. Motion to reduce bail is withdrawn. Preliminary hearing scheduled for November 3 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF210 - Patrick M. Copelin - Residential Burglary - Motion to Reduce Bail. Defendant testifies on his own behalf. Defense counsel requested $20,000 bond. Court reduces bond to $35,000. Preliminary hearing scheduled for October 31 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF212 - Jeremy T. Emery - Possession of Meth Less Than 5 Grams and Resisting a Peace Officer - Motion to Reduce Bail. Defendant testifies on his own behalf. Motion for bond reduction is denied based on criminal record and bond remains at $25,000. Preliminary hearing scheduled for November 2 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF202 - Drakeem L. Manning - Burglary - Preliminary Hearing. Also 17CM151 - Resisting a Peace Officer - First Appearance. Preliminary hearing is waived in 17CF202. Defendant pleads not guilty, requests trial by jury. Pre-trial only scheduled at this time. Pre-trial scheduled for December 14 at 10 a.m. Charge in 17CM151 was read to defendant. Public defender in this case as well. Formal arraignment is waived in this case, pre-trial in this case also to be held on December 14.

16CF042 - Robert A. Stivers - Aggravated Battery of a Child Less Than 13 and 2 Counts of Murder. - Pre-trial. Also 15CF204 - Driving Recklessly / Suspicion of DUI, 15CF165 - Failure to Report an Accident with Injury and Driving Recklessly / Suspicion of DUI, and two traffic charges. Original assistant public defender has declined because it would be too much of a time commitment. New assistant public defender for this case has agreed to serve on defense for this case. Motion to preserve evidence is granted. State has gotten all opinions to defense counsel. Motions hearing set for November 16 at 11 a.m.
