On Monday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following accident to Regional Radio News:

 

90-year-old Audrey J. Deckert of Stonington was driving eastbound on Springfield Road Wednesday followed by 33-year-old Lindsey Knecht of Assumption, who was followed by 49-year-old Robert J. Dunn of Taylorville. Deckert stopped due to heavy traffic, and Knecht was able to stop to avoid an accident. Dunn failed to reduce his speed and rear-ended Knecht. The impact to Knecht into Deckert’s vehicle. No one was hurt. Dunn was cited for failing to reduce speed.

35-year-old Ryan J. Durbin of Pana was arrested Sunday for Domestic Battery and Resisting a Peace Officer.


A complainant reported the theft of miscellanous items from a tool shed on Saturday. The items were found nearby. The case is under investigation.


A complainant reported that between 1:30 and 2:30 a.m. Sunday, an unknown vehicle traveled through his yard and struck the side of his house. There was minor damage to the home and yard. The case is under investigation.

35-year-old Robert J. Christer of Pana was backing from a parking spot at 309 S. Poplar Tuesday when he struck a parked car owned by Tiffeny C. Smith and Kacee J. Bradshaw of Tower Hill. No one was injured.

18-year-old Gabe A. Verardi of Taylorville was driving westbound on Route 104 Saturday behind 37-year-old Erin R. Ellinger of Taylorville. Ellinger stopped to turn left onto Broaddus Road, but Verardi had issues with his brakes and was not able to stop. Verardi swerved to avoid contact but hit Ellinger’s car on the driver’s side. A complainant reported a customer’s vehicle was damage while parked in the 600 block of W 2nd St. The damage occured sometime between 1 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Monday. The case is under investigation.

A complainant reported a hit and run that occurred on Chestnut St. just south of 5th St. Sometime between 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday, an unknown vehicle struck the complainant’s car causing major damage to the driver’s side to the car. The case is under investigation.

The Taylorville Police Department filed an addendum to the following accident:

 

It was originially reported that 29-year-old Nathan K. Peck of Taylorville was exiting Hillcrest Trailer Court onto E. Main Cross St. on August 29 when an unknown vehicle struck his vehicle. The unknown vehicle continued eastbound on E. Main Cross and did not stop. Peck continued from the scene of impact until he stopped at the intersection of E. Park and McAdam, where he contacted Taylorville Police. Peck described the car as a white vehicle of unknown make or model. The Taylorville Police have identified 25-year-old Stephanie J. Ashlock as the driver of the unknown vehicle. She said she was driving south on Hillcrest Trailer Court when Peck came around a curve from the west and struck her vehicle in the intersection. Ashlock said her and Peck talked at the scene and decided not to call the police, and Peck apologized numerous times for hitting her vehicle. Peck left and drove north from the accident scene and left Hillcrest Trailer Court, while Ashlock drove to her residence and parked her vehicle.

 

50-year-old Cathy L. Cooper of Pana was driving westbound on E. Park St. Wednesday following behind 77-year-old Norma J. Cearlock of Taylorville. Cearlock was stopped at the light at Cherokee St. when Cooper failed to reduce her speed and rear-ended Cearlock. Both refused medical treatment.

 

38-year-old Shawn E. Carey of Mt. Auburn was exiting Larry’s Service Center parking lot attempted to turn left onto Springfield Rd. westbound Thursday. 17-year-old Quinton M. Neville had turned left on Springfield Rd. from Sportsman Rd. and was traveling eastbound when Carey struck Neville in the rear passenger side. No one was injured.

Pana Police is investigating a burglary report on Caboose Lane in Pana, where unknown subject(s) forced entry into a garage and removed several items. The incident occurred sometimes between the evening of September 13 and the morning of September 15.


Pana Police are investigating a burglary/theft report of a Craftsman table saw and a tile saw missing from a garage in the 1000 block of E. 2nd St. The lock had been broken and items had been moved in the garage. The case is under investigation.

51-year-old John O. West, Jr. of Springfield, Missouri was driving westbound on First Street when his trailer caught a tree branch, damaging a state of Illinois owned tree and the truck’s trailer. A New Wave Communications cable line was also damaged during the crash.


17-year-old Zachary R. Young of Pana was southbound on Elizabeth Street Friday when he failed to stop for the t-intersection with Magnolia. The vehicle struck the ditch on the south side of the intersection.


29-year-old Allison R. Owens of Tower Hill was traveling northbound on Poplar St. Saturday following behind 56-year-old Peter B. Baginski of Tower Hill. Owens rear-ended Baginski when he came to a stop to avoid an animal in the roadway.

On Monday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:


23-year-old Robert C. Beard of Morrisonville was driving northbound on County Road 5 Wednesday when a deer ran in the roadway, causing him to swerve. He left the road and struck a utility pole, causing it to break. After the pole broke, the wire that was attached to the pole fell across the vehicle parked in the roadway, causing damage to the right side of the vehicle.


53-year-old Kimberlee K. Wilson of Nokomis was driving southbound on County Highway 6 Friday when a deer ran into the roadway. She could not avoid striking the deer.


22-year-old Zachary R. Wilham of Williamsville was pulling out of a campsite at South Fork Dirt Riders Friday when he misjudged the amount of turnspace. He struck the camper next to his as he was turning left out of the campsite. The camper struck is owned by by Jeffrey A. Edgar of Bethalto.

46-year-old Douglas M. Schierer of Kincaid was driving westbound on Illinois Route 104 Monday when a deer ran into the road. Schierer could not avoid the deer and struck it. He declined medical attention and was able to drive away from the scene.

 

27-year-old Justin M. Ostermeier of Nokomis was backing northeast from a parking space at McDonald’s Tuesday. 61-year-old Susan M. Reber was driving south in the parking lot and Ostermeier backed into her. No one was injured.

35-year-old Tracy L. Heinz of Springfield was driving on Park Street turning onto Webster Street Friday when she rear-ended 56-year-old Maxine Y. Mattison of Chatham. No one was hurt.

 

18-year-old Lexus A. Spencer of Taylorville was driving on E. Lakeshore Drive Saturday when a deer ran into the roadway. She swerved to avoid the deer, lost control of the vehicle and struck a large tree on the east side of the road way. She drove the car from the scene to a parking lot east of Lake Taylorville Dam wheree the car was found the next morning. Spencer was not hurt.

 

46-year-old Michelle L. Ostermeier of Taylorville was driving southbound behind two vehicles on N. Cheney Street Saturday when the unknown first vehicle slowed to turn left onto W. Elm Street. 21-year-old Merisha K. Mollet of Taylorville was between the unknown vehicle and Ostermeier. Mollet slowed but Ostermeier did not slow down in time and rear-ended Mollet. No one was injured.

During two seperate incidents seven hours apart at the same residence, both Meghan R. Kessinger, 24, of Herrick and Steven D. Kilcrease, 47, of Herrick were arrested for disordely conduct following responses to a disturbance of the peace at a residence located on Bolt Ave. in Herrick.

While assisting an ambulance at a medical call on Bolt Ave. in Herrick, deputies observed Steven D. Kilcrease, 47, of Herrick in possession of a weapon in violation of his parole. He was arrested for possession of a weapon by a felon and resisting arrest.

On Thursday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News:

 

34-year-old Ashley N. Bain of Kincaid was arrested Thursday for Driving While License Suspended.

 

42-year-old Melissa G. Owens of Taylorville was arrested Wednesday on a Macon County warrant.

 

On Thursday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News:


59-year-old Victor D. Kennedy of Springfield was arrested Wednesday for DUI - Alcohol.


37-year-old Nicole R. Oller of Riverton was arrested Wednesday for Driving While License Suspended or Revoked.


42-year-old Melissa G. Owens of Taylorville was arrested Wednesday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $5,000.


23-year-old Rachel E. Barker of Moweaqua was arrested Thursday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $2,000.

On Wednesday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrest to Regional Radio News:

 

19-year-old Alysha N. Newlin of Taylorville was arrested Tuesday for Driving While License Suspended.

 

On Wednesday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following accident to Regional Radio News:

 

The Taylorville Police Department had an amendment to the following accident report:


34-year-old Mark A. Schaefer of Taylorville was driving on North Street Thursday when he saw 21-year-old Dalton K. Perry of Pana speaking with Schaefer’s wife in her minivan. As Schaefer was backing up, he did not realize that Perry had moved and he hit Perry. Perry fell to the ground and watched as Schaefer drove away around the corner. Schaefer returned a few minutes later as EMS arrived. Perry was transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital via a personal car. Schaefer was arrested for Failure to Give Aid and given a citation for Improper Backing.

 

On Wednesday, the Pana Police Department reported the following arrest to Regional Radio News:


31-year-old Casey D. Denton of Pana was arrested Tuesday for Obstructing and Assaulting a Peace Officer.


On Wednesday, the Pana Police Department reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:


40-year-old Bradley E. Rowley was helping 67-year-old Linda N. Miller navigate through parked vehicles at Kitchell Park Monday when Rowley became wedged between Miller’s vehicle and a city-owned water faucet. Rowley received minor injuries and was treated at Pana Community Hospital.


76-year-old Roger L. Lewis of Tavares, Florida was driving his motorcycle southbound on Hickory Street Monday when he lost control of his motorcycle, running off the roadway and striking a parked car owned by Brian Hrabak of Pana. Lewis was transported by ambulance to Pana Community Hospital and then airlifted to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

29-year-old Jennifer L. Cathey of Assumption was arrested Tuesday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $4,000.


On Wednesday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following accident to Regional Radio News:


67-year-old Bonny K. Buesking of Mt. Auburn was driving southbound on Township Road 1730 E Tuesday when she lost control of her vehicle, slid across the roadway and ended up in a corn field on the east side of the roadway. She was not hurt.

29-year-old Stephanie Reber of Taylorville was arrested Saturday for Criminal Trespassing.

 

20-year-old Shiloh K. Thomas of Taylorville was arrested Monday for Criminal Trespassing to Land and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

 

On Tuesday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News:


31-year-old Pamela J. Rozplochowski of Palmer was arrested Friday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. No bond has been set.


20-year-old Patrick M. Carr of Taylorville was arrested Friday on a Bond Forfeiture warant. Bond is set at $2,500.


36-year-old Vanessa C. Wensman of Pana was arrested Saturday for Domestic Battery.


On Tuesday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:


30-year-old Erica D. Berner of Assumption was driving southbound on Highway 51 Wednesday when a deer ran into the roadway. She could not avoid striking the deer. She was not hurt.


23-year-old Taylor D. Bowman of Assumption was driving westbound on County Highway 6 Thursday when he missed the right turn at 2300 East Road. He drove straight through the curve, crossed over 2300 East Road and hit a utility pole. He spun 180 degrees and came to rest in the ditch facing east. Bowman was gone upon arrival.


24-year-old Ciara L. Puckett of Taylorville was driving northbound on County Road 650 East Sunday. As she approached the curve at 1575 north, Puckett skid off the roadway, entered the north ditch and struck a tree. She was not hurt.


64-year-old Floyd O. Short of Taylorville was driving northbound on 700 East Road Sunday when at approximately 1550 North Road, a deer ran into the roadway. He could not avoid striking the deer. Short was not hurt.
