Area Arrests/Accidents 7/31/17

On Monday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News:

 

31-year-old Travis W. Foor of Taylorville was arrested Friday for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

 

20-year-old Shiloh K. Thomas of Taylorville was arrested Friday for Domestic Battery.

 

63-year-old Donnie Bodovich of Tovey was arrested Friday on a valid Christian County Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $3,000.

 

22-year-old Chloe L. Windell of Taylorville and 22-year-old Jeri M. Woodson of Bulpitt were arrested Saturday for Criminal Damage to Property.

 

24-year-old Christopher J. Johnson of Taylorville was arrested Sunday on a valid Christian County Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $5,000.

 

On Monday, the Pana Police Department reported the following arrests and incidents to Regional Radio News:


46-year-old Starla D. Hostetler of Pana was arrested July 22nd for Battery.


Pana Police received a report that on July 28th, a check had been altered to a larger amount and then cashed. The case is under investigation.


Pana Police and the Christian County Coroner’s Office are investigating the death of a 24-year-old male Friday. More information will be released pending autopsy results.


A complainant reported the theft of approximate $300 worth of tools from his garage in the 900 block of East 3rd Street sometime between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:30 p.m. Saturday. The case is under investigation.

 

On Monday, the Pana Police Department reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:


31-year-old Casey D. Denton of Pana was driving northbound on Poplar Street approaching Second Street. 29-year-old Audra M. Koons of Pana was traveling northbound on Poplar, stopped at a red light at second street. Denton failed to stop and rear-ended Koons. No one was injured.


25-year-old Dillon L. Ginger of Pana and 28-year-old Ashlin A. Brown of Pana were both westbound on West 2nd Street Sunday. An unknown third vehicle slowed and unexpected made a left turn. Brown was forced to stop quickly in response, and Ginger was unable to stop and rear-ended Brown. No one was injured.

35-year-old Lorna A. Smith of Taylorville was arrested Friday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $10,000.


40-year-old Jason W. Smith of Taylorville was arrested Friday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $250.


41-year-old David A. Handlin of Kincaid was arrested Sunday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $500.


On Monday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:


45-year-old Ronald L. Williams of Stonington was backing out at Willie’s Co-op on July 19th and backed into a post. He was not injured.


64-year-old Dennis L. Wolfe of Nokomis was driving southbound on Old U.S. Route 51 south of Assumption approaching the intersection with U.S. Route 51 Friday. Wolfe attempted to make a right turn but failed, driving into the median and hitting a “Do Not Enter” sign. He was not injured.


18-year-old Logan L. Jones of Taylorville was driving southbound on Webster Street Friday behind 20-year-old Trever E. King of Taylorville. Both were approaching the intersection with Spresser Street. King slowed down and stopped at the intersection. Jones slowed down but did not stop in time, rear-ending King. Jones and King were not injured. A passenger riding with King was transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.


37-year-old David B. Klee of Oconee was driving northbound on 100 East Road in Shelby County Friday. As he entered Christian County at 00 North Road at 2200 East Road, Klee missed the intersection and struck a utility pole on the north side of the intersection. Klee was transported to Pana Community Hospital via ambulance with head and arm injuries.


26-year-old Jordan M. Sheedy of Morrisonville was driving westbound on 700 North Road in Pana Township Saturday. 77-year-old Eugene T. Hoisington was driving southbound on 2400 East Road. At the intersection, Sheedy was going to turn left onto 2400 East Road, but was blinded by sunlight and could not see Hoisington approaching. Hoisington hit Sheedy and no one was injured.

75-year-old Gerald E. Crosby of Pana was backing up from a private drive on Kitchell Avenue just south of 7th Street when he struck a parked car owned by Tracy L. Cessna of Pana. No one was hurt.

On Wednesday, the Pana Police Department reported the following incident to Regional Radio News:

 

A complainant reported criminal damage that occurred to her 2006 Ford Freestyle sometime between July 23rd and July 25th. An unknown person(s) used a sharp object to cut two tires. The vehicle was parked in the yard when the damage occurred. The tires are valued at $125 each.

 

On Wednesday, the Pana Police Department reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:

 

57-year-old Adem Ademi of Taylorville was turning left from Elder Alley onto First Street Monday when he failed to yield to 54-year-old Colleen K. Hinton of Tower Hill, who was westbound on First Street. Ademi struck Hinton, causing minor damage to both vehicles.

 

87-year-old William B. Gates of Pana was driving westbound on First Street Tuesday when he struck a parked car owned by Randy L. Smith of Tower Hill. There was minor damage to both cars.

17-year-old Zachary J. Bax of Rochester was driving eastbound on East Park Street Saturday and did not see traffic stopped for a car turning left at Pershing. He rear-ended the car of 27-year-old Tia L. King of Springfield. No one was injured.

 

64-year-old Alan R. Kon of Springfield was driving northbound on Pawnee Street Saturday. He crossed through the intersection with Market Street and did not see the vehicle of 33-year-old Charles C. Foraker driving westbound on Market Street. Foraker struck Kon on the passenger side. No one was injured.

 

22-year-old Amanda L. Stewart of Taylorville was driving westbound on Illinois Route 104 Monday and did not see the car of 53-year-old Alice T. Adams turning into Hickory Estates. Stewart hit Adams, and the momentum took Adams vehicle into the lawn of Hickory Estates. Both refused medical treatment.

32-year-old Jason L. Lawyer of Taylorville was arrested Sunday for Driving While License Suspended and a valid Sanamon County warrant.

26-year-old Zachary A. Marquess of Taylorville was driving northbound on County Road 1600 East Road on July 15th. Just north of 1510, he lost control of the vehicle and entered the east ditch and overturned.

 

 

29-year-old Douglas D. Everett of Taylorville was driving eastbound on 2050 North Road on Thursday when he ran off the roadway, struck an embankment and went airborne, coming to rest on the driver’s side. When deputies arrived, Everett was conscious and breathing. He was taken to St. John’s Hospital for his injuries.

 

 

52-year-old Kathleen M. Walter of Morrisonville was driving eastbound on SE Fourth Street in Morrisonville on Saturday when she rear-ended the vehicle of 54-year-old Michael A. Montgomery of Morrisonville between Route 48 and Vandeveer Street. Both refused medical treatment and were able to drive away from the scene.

 

 

49-year-old Michael S. Champley of Taylorville was driving northbound on Township Road 1600 East Sunday when a deer ran into the road at approximately 1450 North, just south of the bridge. He hit the deer, but was not injured.

38-year-old Russell E. Durbin of Taylorville was driving northbound on Route 29 on July 13 when he ran off the roadway on the opposite side of the road. He went through a cornfield, exited through a ditch with a culvert, then went across Burnett Drive, through the grassy area, and into the Aldi’s parking lot. Durbin had left the scene but was later located. He was arrested for improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, no valid driver’s license, failure to give aid or information, and DUI.

 

71-year-old Connie F. Ahlberg of Taylorville was driving northbound on Bidwell Street Sunday and had stopped at the intersection with Cherokee. 26-year-old Kevin W. Eson of Taylorville was driving eastbound on Cherokee Street and had stopped at the intersection with Bidwell. Eson proceeded through the intersection and was struck by Ahlberg, who had also started to proceed. Eson’s vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

 

67-year-old Joseph A. Walker of Sullivan was driving northbound in the KFC parking lot Monday and 25-year-old Zachariah P. Korando of Decatur was driving eastbound in the parking lot. Walker hit Korando in the parking lot. Walker’s car had to be towed from the scene.

65-year-old Perry J. Pellegrini of Nokomis was driving northbound on County Road 1 on July 9th when a deer ran in front of him. He could not avoid the deer and hit the deer.


38-year-old Damon L. Fronabarger of Taylorville was driving northbound on South Main Street in Taylorville Sunday. He could not avoid the parked vehicles in the roadway. He rear-ended a second car, which took that car into a third car. The driver stated he did not know how the crash occurred and that he did not remember the crash. Fronabarger was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.


82-year-old Harry L. McGhee Jr. of Dawson was driving eastbound on County Highway 2 Monday, turning left onto County Highway 3. He said he did not see the the vehicle of 35-year-old Annisa D. Bartletti of Divernon in the intersection and he turned into the side of her vehicle. No one was injured.


21-year-old Dustin K. Dierker of Edinburg was driving southbound on County Highway 22 Tuesday. At approximately 2650 North, a deer entered the road. Dierker attempted to swerve to the opposite side of the road to avoid the deer but still hit the deer. Dierker then overcorrected and left the roadway slightly on the west side. As he got back onto the road, he lost control of the vehicle, spinning out before colliding with the ditch on the east side of the roadway.


17-year-old Landon T. Bethard of Morrisonville was driving eastbound on the Cherokee Street extension Wednesday when he lost control on loose gravel. The vehicle came to rest in the north ditch.

27-year-old Amber N. Spracklen of Pana was arrested Friday on a Christian County Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $1,500.

 

22-year-old Andrew McDonald of Taylorville was arrested Sunday on a valid Christian County Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $2,000.

 

43-year-old Joseph K. Ruyle of Taylorville was arrested Sunday for Battery.

 

On Thursday, the Pana Police Department reported the following arrest and incidents to Regional Radio News:


Pana Police was notified by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department of a sexual assault investigation involving an 18-year-old male and a 15-year-old female that allegedly took place in Pana as well as Shelby County. The case is under investigation and will be forwarded to the Christian County State’s Attorney’s office.


43-year-old Curtis L. Worker of Pana was arrested Thursday on a Shelby County warrant.


Pana Police and Taylorville Police are investigating the theft of a bank debit card. Fraudulent purchases were made in the Pana area totaling $1,625.85. The case is under investigation.


A complainant reported damage to a sun shading tent at Kitchell Park sometime between 7 p.m. on July 15 and 10:30 a.m. on July 16. The tent was turned on its side, tearing or cutting the fabric. A food serving table was also turned over during the incident. The damaged tent is valued at $110. The case is under investigation.

31-year-old Nicholas T. Abbott of Girard was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine. No bond has been set.


25-year-old David L. Grigsby of Pawnee was arrested Saturday for Driving on a Suspended or Revoked License. No bond has been set.


54-year-old Michael E. Handy of Pana was arrested Saturday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $2,500.


On Monday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:


21-year-old Erin A. Sexson of Taylorville was driving southbound on Route 29 Tuesday when she says a van pulled out in front of her from the north side of the intersection with 1600 East Road. She drove off the roadway to the right in order to avoiding colliding with the van. After going off the roadway, she collided with a sign.


A 16-year-old from Taylorville was driving eastbound on Poplar Street Friday, stopped at the intersection with Webster Street. He began to cross Webster Street and did not see the vehicle driven by 35-year-old Thomas J. Barry of Taylorville. The 16-year-old struck Barry. No injuries were reported.


73-year-old Gerald F. Veach of Kincaid was driving eastbound on Route 104 Saturday when his trailer came unhooked. He ran the trailer into the west bound lane. The trailer struck the vehicle when it hit the ditch on the opposite side of the roadway, and flipped over striking the vehicle.


31-year-old Jayme L. Francis of Edinburg was driving eastbound on County Highway 2 Saturday when she hit a deer at approximately 1350 East Road. She received front-end damage and her vehicle was towed from the scene.


17-year-old Hunter B. Molohon of Taylorville was driving eastbound on County Road 900 North on Sunday when a deer ran out of the south ditch and struck the passenger side of his vehicle. He refused medical treatment on scene.

38-year-old Russel E. Durbin of Taylorville was arrested Thursday for DUI, Failure to Give Aid or Information, and No Valid Driver’s License.

 

22-year-old Kelsie M. Bass of Nokomis was arrested Thursday on a valid Christian County Bond Forfeiture warrant. An additional charge of Obstructing Justice was filed after Bass gave police a false name and date of birth.

 

23-year-old Patrick W. Miller of Taylorville was arrested Friday for Criminal Damage to Property and Disorderly Conduct.

30-year-old William D. Sweger of Pana was arrested Thursday for DUI of Alcohol. No bond has been set.


On Friday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:


21-year-old James C. Luetzow of Taylorville was driving southbound on County Highway 7 on July 3. Luetzow believes he looked down at a message on his phone when he went into the northbound lane and off the roadway. He hit a concrete bridge support head-on, causing major damage to his vehicle. He was transported to Memorial Medical Center for his injuries.


39-year-old Kristy L. Smith of Springfield was driving southbound on Route 29 and 79-year-old Shaun O. Walter of Rochester was driving northbound on Route 29 Tuesday. Smith bent over to grab her cigarette from the floor board when she crossed into the northbound lane. She hit the mirror of Walter’s car, causing damage to both vehicles. Other vehicles had to leave the roadway to avoid being hit by Smith.

25-year-old Roy H. Timmes of Taylorville was arrested Wednesday for Driving With No Valid Driver’s License.

A complainant reported the theft of a paddle boat valued at approximately $450. The boat was last seen on June 25th and it was discovered missing on June 30th. The case is under further investigation.


38-year-old Nikki A. Snow of Pana was arrested Wednesday for Disorderly Conduct.


A 21-year-old female reported a battery she had received from a 22-year-old male. The case is under investigation.


On Thursday, the Pana Police Department reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:


20-year-old Jordon A. Fulford of Pana was driving eastbound on Main Street and 84-year-old Charlotte J. Roark was driving southbound on Poplar Street Sunday. Fulford failed to yield at the intersection and collided with Roark, causing major damage to both vehicles. Fulford was issued a citation for failure to yield at a stop sign.


A 16-year-old male was backing from a private drive on DeWitt Street on Monday when he struck a parked car owned by Adam and Colysta Ladage of Pana. The male’s car had minor rear damage and the Ladage’s car had minor front driver’s side damage.

40-year-old Kayla M. Durbin of Nokomis was arrested Friday on Christian County and Montgomery County warrants.

 

19-year-old Rodney D. Sizemore of Taylorville was arrested Friday for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and cited for Driving with No Valid Driver’s License and Failure to Wear a Seat Belt.

 

30-year-old Kalyn L. Worker of Taylorville was arrested Saturday for a valid Christian County warrant and Methamphetamine Delivery Less Than 5 Grams.

 

42-year-old Sheryl L. Jestis of Decatur was arrested Sunday on a valid warrant.

 

32-year-old Jennifer A. Miller of Machesney Park, IL was arrested Sunday on a Winnebago County warrant.

 

Two 13-year-old males of Taylorville were arrested Sunday for Theft.

 

27-year-old Edwin J. Watson of Decatur was arrested Monday for Driving While License Suspended or Revoked.

 

39-year-old Nicholas A. Durbin of Taylorville was arrested Monday on a Christian County Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $5,000.

On Monday, the Pana Police Department reported the following incidents to Regional Radio News:

 

A complainant reported the theft of two concrete bird baths from a property in the 400 block of W. Olive Street on Thursday. The theft occurred sometime after 11 p.m. on July 5th. The case is under investigation.

 

40-year-old Thomas E. Merrifield of Pana was arrested on a Christian County warrant for Failure to Appear - Domestic Battery.

 

A complainant reported that someone had threw a brick at the windshield of his car and a window on his garage sometime between Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 8 p.m. The case is under investigation.

35-year-old David A. Cole of Tower Hill was driving westbound on Route 29 Thursday. As he approached the curve at Washington, he lost control of the vehicle and slid on its right side, hitting the curb at Washington. He was spun around and landed facing south. Cole was extracted from the vehicle.

On Friday, we reported that 30-year-old Randall L. Hall was arrested on a Bond Forefeiture warrant. The arrest report from the Sheriff’s Office was incorrect and had the wrong name. 44-year-old Ronald E. Hall of Taylorville was arrested Thursday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $3,000.

 

40-year-old Kayla M. Durbin of Nokomis was arrested Friday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $30,000.

 

24-year-old Brittany L. Henry of Nokomis was arrested Friday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $5,000.

19-year-old Rodney D. Sizemore of Taylorville was arrested Saturday for IVC felonies and other driving related charges. No bond has been set.

 

36-year-old Rockie A. Ginger of Sullivan was arrested on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $2,500.

 

24-year-old Blossom R. Plumb of Salem was arrested Sunday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $3,000.

 

35-year-old Dale R. Whitis of Cowden was arrested Sunday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $3,000.

On Thursday, the Pana Police Department reported the following incidents to Regional Radio News:

 

A complainant reported to Pana Police that unknown persons damaged her 2008 Volkswagon while parked at Kitchell Park. The damage occurred on July 1 between 9 and 11 p.m. The case is under investigation.

 

A complainant reported damage to his vehicle from someone prying a door to gain entry while at 715 Lincoln. A pair of sunglasses from inside the vehicle are missing. The case is under investigation.

26-year-old Zach M. Morrissey of Kincaid was arrested Wednesday for Knowingly Damaging Property.

62-year-old Mary J. Lawyer of Taylorville was driving westbound on 1100 North Road on June 26th when a deer ran into the roadway. She hit the deer, causing damage to her vehicle.

 

27-year-old Devin W. McDowell of Pana was driving southbound on County Highway 7 Monday, just under a mile north of County Road 6. McDowell said he lost control on the roadway and rolled the truck twice and ending up on its side in the ditch on the east side of the road. He was transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

 

A 16-year-old female was driving southbound on 1800 East Road Wednesday, just south of 700 North Road. A deer ran into the roadway and she hit the deer, causing damage to the vehicle.

35-year-old Alonzo J. Hoyer of Pana was arrested Saturday for DUI, DUI above .08, Illegal Transportation (Driver) and Improper Lane Usage.

 

41-year-old Daniel B. Mayfield of Pana was arrested Saturday for Illegal Transportation (Passenger) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

 

 

On Monday, the Pana Police Department reported the following accident to Regional Radio News:

 

19-year-old Abby N. Holthaus of Pana was driving westbound on Main Street on June 23rd while 63-year-old Bobby A. Cantrell of Pana was driving southbound on Poplar. Holthaus stopped, but continued across the intersection not seeing Cantrell. She struck him, causing front end damage to both vehicles. Holthaus received a citation for “Failure to Yield at an Intersection”, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

27-year-old Nikki L. Hairston of Witt was arrested Friday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $2,000.

 

34-year-old Kacey D. Burton of Kincaid was arrested Friday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $10,000.

 

44-year-old Melinda R. Elliott of Tower Hill was arrested Saturday for Contempt of Court. Bond is set at $150.

 

49-year-old Thomas A. Elliott of Tower Hill was arrested Saturday for Contempt of Court. Bond is set at $150.

 

23-year-old Alissa F. Long of De Land was arrested Saturday for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. No bond has been set.
