The Christian County Sheriff’s office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

38 year old Joshua M. Emmerling of Taylorville was arrested Thursday for contempt of court from June 10, 2019.

 

32 year old Christopher W. Barnes of Owaneco was arrested Thursday for reckless driving.

 

38 year old Samuel A. Walton of Taylorville was arrested Thursday for domestic battery.

 

23 year old Derrick W. Wallace of Nokomis was arrested Thursday for driving on suspended/revoked license.

 

24 year old Jamie D. Sizemore of Taylorville was arrested Thursday for driving with a suspended license.

Shelby County Arrests-June

The Shelby County Sheriff’s office reports the following to Regional Radio News:

 

29 year old Martin E. Laughlin of Tower Hill was issued a citation the morning of June 11th, for improper operation of an ATV or off highway motorcycle on the roadway with no valid registration and operating an uninsured vehicle after a traffic stop at the intersection of 1000N and 800E in Tower Hill.

 

41 year old Charles A. Jackson of Charleston was arrested the afternoon of June 22nd for driving while license revoked and no rear registration plate light after a traffic stop at Illinois Route 32 and South 3rd Street in Strasburg.

 

39 year old Melissa K. McDowell of Cowden was arrested the evening of June 22nd for driving while license suspended after a traffic stop on County Highway 22 just east of County Road 1125E.

 

30 year old Jodi Vanuytven of Pana was issued a notice to appear after a complaint was filed on the morning of June 23rd for child visitation interference.

 

47 year old Donald L. Sims of Windsor was arrested Monday evening for aggravated battery after an incident at his residence in Windsor.  

 

21 year old Haley M. Dixon of Rosamond was arrested Tuesday morning for obstruction.

38 year old Andrea D. Rickman of Springfield was arrested Wednesday for contempt of court and a warrant from a charge from 2016.

 

38 year old Angela M. Kohl of Mount Auburn was arrested Wednesday for leaving the scene of an accident and a warrant from a charge from 2016.

 

27 year old Roy H. Timmes of Taylorville was arrested Thursday for aggravated domestic battery.

 

22 year old Dalton R. Gatons was arrested Wednesday for violating an order of protection.


The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

27 year old Roy H. Timmes of Taylorville was arrested Thursday for aggravated domestic battery.

 

The Taylorville police department responded to an accident on Wednesday evening at the 300 block of East Heights Avenue in Taylorville.  A Taylorville minor was eastbound in the 300 block of E. Heights Avenue. The minor said he lost control of his vehicle due to due to a hand injury sustained prior to the crash.  The minor drove into the other lane and struck two parked vehicles owned by Alan Jackson of Taylorville.  The minor sustained major damage to his vehicle which resulted in the airbags deploying.  Both parked vehicles were heavily damaged as well. There were no injuries reported.  Jackson requested no citation be issued to the minor provided that the minor’s insurance company appropriately compensates all damages to his vehicles.

Benjamin D. Buus of Atwater was arrested Monday for driving on suspended/revoked license.

 

The Taylorville Fire Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

There were 11 EMS calls between 10:00 Friday morning and 9:30 Tuesday morning.

 

The Pana Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

32 year old Emily D. Roach of Pana was arrested June 17 on a Christian County Warrant for failure to appear.

 

The Pana Police Department responded to an accident at the automatic car wash on June 16. 38 year old Kami L. Kingery was too close to a moving part of the equipment.  Kami’s chevy silverado collided with a rotating spray arm causing damage to both.

 

The Pana Police Department responded to a complaint of a burglary at Cindy’s Gaming and Pub on June 16th.  The case is still under investigation.

 

The Pana Police Department responded to a traffic accident on the afternoon of June 13th.  Kevin J. Beyers of Pana was headed westbound on 3rd approaching Poplar.  Larry W. Moore of Herrick was headed northbound on Poplar crossing third.  Beyers went through the stop light and struck Moore’s vehicle.  Beyers received a citation.

38 year old Leanna M. Grissom of Pana was arrested Friday for two charges of bad checks.

 

29 year old Michael L. Perry of Pana was arrested Saturday for possession of a controlled substance.

 

27 year old Amanda D. Johanningmeir of Taylorville was arrested on Saturday for driving with a suspended license.

 

31 year old Jeremy L. Gunderson of Hillsboro was arrested Sunday for DUI.

 

47 year old Deborah S. Pfeffer of Taylorville was arrested Sunday for domestic battery and resisting a police officer.

 

33 year old Breanne L. Larson of Taylorville was arrested Monday for DUI.

 

51 year old Robert L. Meek of Taylorville was arrested for a warrant.

 

40 year old Jeremy Peters of Hillsboro was arrested Sunday for burglary.


The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call on Saturday evening. 21 year old Samuel A. Butcher of Mechanicsburg was headed north on 625 East Road.  Butcher hit water and hydroplaned off the roadway tipping over on the drivers side.  The car was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported. 

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call on Saturday afternoon.  24 year old Macy E. Jackson of Bloomington was headed eastbound County Highway #6 .  While coming around a curve on to County Highway #9, Jackson hydroplaned and lost control of her vehicle leaving the roadway on the left side overturning onto the vehicles side.  Minor injuries were reported and Jackson was taken by Assumption Ambulance.  The vehicle was towed.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call on Saturday evening.  21 year old Zachary M. Bugg of Assumption was headed northbound on US Route 51 near Prairieton Township and struck a deer near the intersection of Township Road 1750 North.  No injuries were reported. 

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call on Saturday morning. 63 year old Denis L. Watson of Kincaid was backing onto 1085 E Road from the east bound lane due to impassable water on the roadway.  Watson struck the vehicle driven by 48 year old Gary G. Drysdale of Langleyville.  Drysdale was turning north onto 1085 E Road and collided with Watson’s vehicle.  Watson was backing up because of the water.  Both drivers stated it was hard to see due to weather.  No injuries were reported.  Watson received a citation.

29 year old RIcci S. Johnson the II of Taylorville was arrested on Saturday for city ordinance violation of public intoxication.

 

34 year old James R. Coghlan was arrested Friday for a warrant.  While the police were letting him close up the shed he was living in, he fled east in the alley on foot.  Coghlan was found later on in a basement on N. Shumway Street. Coghlan was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice, resisting a  peace officer, and the Christian County Warrant.

 

51 year old Robert L. Meek of Taylorville was arrested Sunday for domestic battery.

 

47 year old Debbie S. Pfeffer of Taylorville was arrested Sunday for domestic battery.

 

Taylorville Police Department responded to an accident on Friday morning.  34 year old Brandon N. Fox of Taylorville was backing out of a parking lot traveling southbound on 108 West Vine Street.  Fox backed into a Christian County Sheriff’s vehicle.  Both vehicles were damaged.  

 

Taylorville Police Department responded to an accident on Saturday afternoon.  82 year old Julia A. Johnston of Taylorville was driving south on Webster street near Bryant Street and attempted to merge into the left lane.  Johnston didn’t notice that 58 year old Betty E. Sexton of Taylorville was there.  Johnston struck Sexton’s vehicle.  Both vehicles had to be towed.  Johnston received a citation.

22 year old Tristine J. Hampton of Taylor Springs was arrested on Tuesday for theft.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to an accident on Park Street and Long Street on the morning of Wednesday, June 12th.  A car driven by 22 year old Olivia A. Dyer-Norton of Taylorville was stopped for traffic near the intersection.  A car driven by 47 year old Rebecca A. Russell of Pana was stopped behind Dyer-Norton.  The car driven by 27 year old Nicole L. Erwin Gaynor of Taylorville struck the back of Russell’s vehicle which hit Dyer-Norton’s car. Russell and Dyer-Norton went to the hospital for injuries.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a vehicle accident on Monday afternoon at 1617 W. Spresser in Taylorville. 31 year old Brittany K. Ramey of Taylorville was being taught to drive by her passenger.  The passenger informed Ramey to slow down, but Ramey hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and hit the overhead door.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a vehicle accident on Sunday evening on Main Cross and Park Street.  A car driven by 50 year old Christian D. Collodi was waiting on traffic at the intersection to turn right.  A car driven by a minor from Taylorville struck the back of Collodi’s vehicle.  No injuries were reported.  A citation was given to the minor for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

48 year old Randall C. Smith of Taylorville was arrested Tuesday for possession of methamphetamine.

 

23 year old Dylan M. McConnell of Edinburg was arrested Tuesday for driving while suspended.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a vehicle accident on Tuesday morning.  63 year old Janelle C. Beadle of Decatur was headed south on Illinois Route 48 at 850 East and struck a deer.  The vehicle had to be towed, and no injuries were reported. 

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a vehicle accident on Tuesday morning.  A car driven by 78 year old Wanda E. Houk of Mount Auburn was headed south on Township Road 1230 E and had stopped at the intersection with Township Road 2450 N. A car driven by 52 year old Daren L. Rudolph of Edinburg was headed westbound on Township Road 2450 N and was stopped at the intersection.  Houk states she looked both ways waiting for two vehicles in order to turn east to pass through the intersection.  After the vehicles passed, she proceeded to turn left on to township Road 2450 and struck Rudolph’s vehicle.  Both vehicles were damaged but no injuries were reported.

39 year old Lloyd M. Rochkes of Taylorville was arrested Saturday.

 

38 year old Vernoica A. Sroczynski of Pana was arrested Sunday for a warrant from 2014.

 

22 year old Robert J. Deere of was arrested Saturday for DUI.

 

20 year old Ezekiel C. Weitekamp of Mechanicsburg was arrested Friday for Driving on suspended license. 

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to an accident on Friday afternoon on Illinois Route 48 near 970E.  A car driven by 33 year old Margaret K. Burke of Chesterfield struck a deer.  She was taken to Taylorville Memorial hospital for minor injuries.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to an accident on Sunday morning at 1775 N on Illinois Route 48.   A car driven by 23 year old Austin W. Dowdy of Stonington stated that he was driving too fast and struck the back of the car driven by 20 year old Colten A. Day of Blue Mound.  Both vehicles lost control.  Day’s car ended up on the railroad embankment and Dowdy’s car ended up in a field.  No injuries were reported.  Both vehicles were towed.  Dowdy received a citation.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to an accident on Saturday morning.  A car driven by 22 year old Robert J. Deere of Pana was headed north on 2600 East Road at about 282 North, lost control driving through a grass yard and into the parking lot of the Pana Bait business.  Deere’s vehicle struck a concrete structure that formed a loading dock causing major damage to the loading dock and Deere’s vehicle.  Medical attention was refused.  Deere received multiple citations.

38 year old Veronica A. Scroczynski was arrested Sunday evening for a valid Christian County warrant.

 

38 year old Billy J. Brown was arrested Sunday evening for driving while license suspended.

 

18 year old Trae A. Fisher and a juvenile male were arrested Saturday evening for retail theft.

 
25 year old Tracy D. Williams of Groveland was arrested Wednesday on a Christian County warrant.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a two vehicle accident on Friday afternoon.  A minor from Pana was driving westbound on Springfield Road near Cheney Street in Taylorville and did not stop in time striking the back of the vehicle driven by 72 year old Delbert M. McCann of Rochester.  No injuries were reported.  The minor received a citation.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a accident on Thursday morning at East Park and Walnut in Taylorville.  58 year old Marty E. Cowgill of Taylorville drove through the red light.  33 year old Nathanial R. Stockton of Taylorville was turning left onto E. Park from Walnut and had the green light.  Cowgill’s vehicle struck Stockton’s causing damage to both vehicles.  Cowgill was given a citation for disobeying a traffic control device.

There were 13 EMS calls between 9:53 Friday morning and 5:08 Monday morning.

 

The Pana Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

53 year old Theodore J. Gannon of Pana was arrested on May 23rd for theft .

 

Pana Police Officers responded to a traffic stop on the early morning of June 11th with 20 year old Kyla A. Brown of Shelbyville and 33 year old Robbie L. Gatons of Tower Hill were on bicycles without proper lighting.  During the investigation Brown was revealed as being wanted for a warrant out of Shelby County. While doing a search, officers found a pipe with possible methamphetamine.  In the search on Gatons, Officers found a pipe and suspected methamphetamine.  Both subjects were arrested for possession of methamphetamine and transported to Christian County Jail.

 

On May 11th, Pana Police Officers were notified of an incident of sexual assault at a house in Pana.  No further information is available.  

 

On the night of June 3rd, Pana Police Officers were dispatched to 317 Kennedy Street for a domestic in progress.  During the investigation, it was revealed that 32 year old Keffery L. Cothern shot her boyfriend with a BB gun causing minor injury.  Medical treatment was refused and Cothern was transported to Christian County Jail.

 

18 year old Lucas R. Cohan of Nokomis was arrested on the early morning of June 5th.  After a traffic stop, Cohan’s vehicle was searched due to the smell of cannabis, and the drivers actions.  During the search, police found methamphetamine on Cohan.  He was placed under arrested and transported to Christian County Jail.

 

19 year old John P. Holthaus of Pana was arrested the morning of June 8th for drug paraphernalia.

 

44 and 20 year old Chad And Quentin Mckittrick of Pana were arrested on the morning of June 9th for Christian County warrants.  Both were transported to the Christian County Jail.
 

Correction To Area Arrests 6/13/19

Regional Radio News would like to make a correction in which it previously stated that 27 year old Nicole L. Erwin-Gaynor was arrested for suspended license. This is not the case. She was arrested for an outstanding warrant. Regional Radio News apologizes for the mistake.
 

Shelby County Arrests May 31-June 9th

The Shelby County Sheriff’s office reported the following to Regional Radio News:

 

31 year old Crystal N. Smith of Salem was arrested the afternoon of May 31st for disorderly conduct and unlawful use of an intoxicating substance.  She was transported to the Detention Center for processing and later posted bond.

 

29 year old Nykki D. McFarland of Pana was arrested the evening of June 4th for driving while license suspended after a traffic stop at Route 16 West of Seneca Street.  She was transported to the detention center and later posted bond.

 

35 year old Brett D. Chapman of Cowden was arrested the evening of June 6th for aggravated domestic battery/great bodily harm after deputies were dispatched to a residence for a domestic in progress.  He was transported to the Detention Center awaiting a court appearance. 

 

28 year old Garrett W. Jewell of Neoga was issued citations on the afternoon of June 7th.  Jewell was cited for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to wear a seat belt and illegal transportation of alcohol after a traffic accident at 235N 3200 East Road.  When the Sheriff’s Office responded the white Chevrolet 2500 pickup was laying on its side west of the roadway after striking a tree and rolling to the bottom of the hill.  Garrett was flown from the scene due to his injuries.

 

32 year old Michelle A. Byford of Greenup was arrested on the evening of June 7th for battery after an altercation at a residence.  She was transported to the Detention Center for processing and alter posted bond.

 

21 year old Hayle M. Smith of Effingham was arrested the morning of June 9th for possession of drug paraphernalia and obstruction after a traffic stop at Route 16 and 1100E.  38 year old Eric L. Miller of Watson was also arrested for obstruction.  They were both transported to the Detention Center for processing and later posted bond.

The Christian County Sheriff’s office reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News;

 

30 year old Erica L. Wessling of Taylorville was arrested Thursday for possession of methamphetamine. 

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call on Tuesday evening.  26 year old Brandon L. Haines of Pana stated he had to stop abruptly due to a white van stopping to turn suddenly on to Lincoln Street.  As Haines stopped, he was rear ended by 18 year old Abigail H. Copely of Taylorville.  No injuries were reported.  Copely was given a citation.

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon.  46 year old Timothy J. Kientzel of Taylorville and 56 year old Craig A. Gorman of Auburn were headed east on Springfield Road.  Gorman slowed down because traffic was stopped in front of him.  Kientzel says he looked away for a second and struck the rear of Gorman’s vehicle.  A passenger in Gorman’s car stated she hit her head on the window but refused medical.  Kientzel was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.  Both cars drove away from the scene.  

Taylorville Police Department responded to a vehicle accident on late Tuesday afternoon on Pershing and East Park Street.  39 year old Jason M. Burkhart of Taylorville was following behind  91 year old Florence C. Banning of Pana south on Park Street.  Burkhart failed to reduce speed and struck the back of Banning’s vehicle.  All parties refused medical. Banning was given a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

28 Year old Danielle D. Guyot of Witt was arrested Wednesday for driving on a suspended/revoked license.

 

27 year old James M. McGuinness of Pana was arrested Tuesday for theft.

 

26 year old Brittany S. Sauer of Kincaid was arrested  Tuesday for aiding and abetting and possession of a stolen vehicle.

 

40 year old Kenneth E. Hannah of Girard was arrested Tuesday for driving on suspended/revoked license.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call on Tuesday morning on Illinois Route 16 and Township Road 2700 E.  18 year old Brailey M. Coulter of Tower Hill was headed eastbound on Illinois Route 16.  According to Coulter she got distracted by her cat in the car, and sideswiped the truck driven by 20 year old Scott A. Myers of Moweaqua. Both vehicles had driver side damage.  No injuries were reported.  Coulter received a citation.

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News;

 

23 year old Faith A. Lozier of Nokomis was arrested Tuesday for a valid Macon County warrant.

 

19 year old Wyatt Batty of Stonington was arrested on Wednesday morning for consumption of alcohol by a minor.

 

20 year old Cole Montgomery of Taylorville was arrested on Wednesday morning for consumption of alcohol by a minor.

 

19 year old Levi Durbin of Stonington was arrested Wednesday morning for consumption of alcohol by a minor.

 

The Taylorville Police department responded to a call on Illinois Route 104 and Springfield Road on the afternoon of Friday June 7th.  63 year old Thomas L. Vonck of Taylorville was headed northbound on Springfield road attempting to turn Westbound onto Illinois Route 104. 20 year old Rhett D. Molen of Taylorville was headed southbound on Springfield road attempting to continue south through the intersection.  Vonck failed to yield the right of way and turned westbound colliding with the front end of Molen’s vehicle.  Both vehicles were totaled and had to be removed.  No injuries were sustained.  Vonck received a citation for failure to yield. 

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a call on the afternoon of Sunday June 9th to the intersection of Route 29 and Pershing Avenue in Taylorville.  21 year old Jordan R. Seats of Decatur was traveling southbound behind 51 year old Thomas C. Strawn of Taylorville on Route 29.  Strawn was stopped at the intersection of Route 29 and Pershing.  Seats struck the back of Strawn’s vehicle.  Seats vehicle had to be towed from the scene. No injuries were reported. Seats received a citation.

The Taylorville police department responded to a call on the morning of Saturday, June 1st.  52 year old Lisa D. Stice of Taylorville was backing up from a stop sign on Houston Street and Vanderveer and backed into the car owned by 52 year old Chrstine A. Davis.  No injuries were reported.  Stice received a citation for improper backing.

26 year old Dillon T. Lucas of Kincaid was arrested Thursday for leaving the scene of an accident with vehicle damage.

 

58 year old Donald L. Lozier of Pana was arrested Thursday for violating an order of protection.

 

23 year old Anthoney R. Chavez of Taylorville was arrested Thursday for contempt of court.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call on Thursday morning as a vehicle driven by 44 year old Robert L. Hill of Virden was traveling northbound on Township road 1075 E when he stopped at the stop sign for the intersection of Illinois Route 104.  Hill was going to go west on Route 104.  A vehicle driven by 53 year old Jacqueline L. Waterman was behind Hills car.  Hill stated that a semi truck with trailer was traveling eastbound on Route 104 and was slowing to turn right onto Township Road 1075E.  Hill advised that he thought the semi truck was going to let him turn but the semi truck proceeded to make a wide angle turn onto Township Road 1075 E.  Hill backed up his vehicle to give the truck room, and backed into Waterman’s vehicle.  No injuries were reported.  Waterman’s vehicle received damage.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call on Thursday morning when a vehicle driven by 29 year old Joseph W. Bowen of Pawnee lost control of his vehicle heading southbound on County Highway 11 just north of County Road 1800 North Road. Bowen crossed the northbound lane and entered the east ditch.  Bowen traveled 70 feet through the ditch and struck a utility pole.  It snapped off at the base and trapped the driver inside.  He was extricated by EMS. Bowen was transported to St. John’s Hospital.

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call on Wednesday afternoon when the vehicle driven by 20 year old Jonathan E. Kleckner of Pawnee was westbound on Illinois Route 104.  A heavy thunderstorm was in progress at the time of the crash and there was water in the road.  Kleckner started to slide at 521 East hydroplaning off the road. Kleckner traveled 100 feet in the ditch hitting some trees and resting in a ditch facing southwest.  No injuries were reported.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call on Wednesday morning when the vehicle driven by 64 year old Janet K. Christopherson of Morrisonville did not see the vehicle driven by 61 year old Debra K. Forbes of Morrisonville turning left onto S E 5th street from Lauer Street.  No injuries were reported.

37 year old Caleb Walker of Taylorville was arrested Thursday for violating an order of protection.

 

65 year old Sally A. Tirey of Taylorville was arrested Wednesday on a Macon County warrant.

 

26 year old Dillon T. Lucas of Kincaid was arrested for a valid Sangamon County warrant.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a vehicle accident on Monday afternoon on Illinois Route 29. 91 year old Robert E. Protko of Taylorville failed to reduce speed and collided with the rear end of the vehicle driven by 22 year old Stephanie P. Conlin of Shelbyville. This caused Conlin’s vehicle to be shoved into the back end of the vehicle driven by 26 year old Kayla P. Sparling of Taylorville.  Protko’s airbag deployed and was wedged behind the brake pedal preventing the driver from stopping and Protko’s vehicle turned southbound down a dead end road colliding with a fence ¼ mile down the road.  Protko was given a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.  Sparling’s vehicle was the only driveable vehicle after the crash.  No injuries were reported.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to an accident on Thursday afternoon at 915 West Spresser.  A car driven by 30 year old Nicole L. Bland of Taylorville was waiting on traffic to clear to turn left from the Marsango Plaza parking lot.  Bland stated that the person in the westbound lane waved her out, but as Bland pulled out she was struck by 23 year old Jericho Dickey of Edinburg.  No injuries were reported.

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a vehicle accident on Wednesday evening on County Highway 5 near 1840 N.  A SUV driven by 30 year old William J. Davis of Bulpitt was headed south when he hit a deer.  The driver lost control and came to rest after he hit a tree.  Davis was able to drive away from the scene.

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a vehicle rollover involving injuries on Friday afternoon on 1250 E Road near 416 N in Greenwood Township. When officers arrived, all occupants of the vehicle were out of the vehicle that was on its roof.  A SUV driven by a minor from Carlinville was headed northbound on Christian County Highway 1 near 416 North left the roadway to the right on the gravel shoulder.  The driver over corrected which caused the vehicle to lose control.  The vehicle skidded off the roadway and collided with a ditch embankment causing the vehicle to overturn.  All four occupants were transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital with two having serious injuries and the other two having minor injuries.  The driver was issued a citation for improper lane usage. 

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a vehicle accident on Tuesday evening.  44 year old Travis H. Hocq of Pana was headed southeast on Illinois Route 29 at approximately 500 North when a deer entered the roadway from the west.  The driver hit the deer.  No injuries were reported, but the vehicle was towed from the scene.

45 year old Corey D. Beswarick of Taylorville was arrested Friday for driving on suspended/revoked license.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a traffic accident on Illinois Route 16, just west of Pana on Sunday, May 26th at 1AM.  33 year old Joshua D. Johnson of Nokomis lost control of his vehicle and drove into a ditch.  No injuries were reported.  

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a traffic accident on Illinois Route 48 near 1460 East on Thursday morning.  A car driven by 59 year old John P Barry of Taylorville struck a deer.  No injuries were reported. The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a traffic accident on Route 29 near Owaneco on Friday evening.  A car driven by 22 year old Brandon L. Earnest of Highland hit a deer.  No injuries were reported.  The car was severely damaged.  

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a traffic accident on County Highway 22 near Township Road 1400 East near Mount Auburn on Sunday afternoon.  A vehicle driven by 71 year old Harold E. Johnson was headed south when the steering locked up around 2450 North.  The car left the roadway and struck several trees and a ditch.  Minor injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed from the scene.  

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a traffic accident on US Route 51 near County Hwy 6.  A vehicle driven by 62 year old Sandra A. WIlliams of Owaneco was stopped at the stop sign and proceeded through the intersection on county highway 6.  She stated she did not see 22 year old Zachary D. Stroud of Dalton City.  Williams struck Stroud’s vehicle on the drivers side.  Both units received major damage.  No injuries were reported and both vehicles were towed.

29 year old Yori N.D. Duckett of Florida was arrested Thursday evening for criminal damage to property over. 

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a vehicle accident on Friday morning on the intersection of Park Street and Webster Street.  A car driven by 34 year old Ashley R. Koniak of Taylorville was turning right in the right turn lane onto Webster Street.  The vehicle driven by 21 year old Aiedan M. Estrada-Drum of Charleston failed to reduce speed and struck the back of Koniak’s vehicle.  Estrada-Drum was given a citation.  No injuries were reported.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a vehicle accident on Webster Street and Wilson Street on Thursday morning.  Vehicles that were driven by 75 year old Delores Showalter of Sherman Illinois and 77 year old Linda K. Cole of Springfield were stopped in traffic.  A vehicle driven by 91 year old Monica F. Grant of Taylorville had a medical issue and did not stop in time striking Showalter’s car who then struck Cole’s car.  Cole’s car was able to be driven from the scene both other cars were towed.  No injuries were reported.  Grant received a citation.

46-year-old Joseph C. Gipson of Fillmore was arrested on Monday for battery and contempt of court.

 

34-year-old Rachel S. Duncan of Taylorville was arrested Monday for burglary.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call last Monday.  35-year-old Travis G. Scott of Mount Auburn was traveling south on County 7 in May Township when Scott hit a raccoon with the front end of his car.  The raccoon caused damage to the motor and front end.  The vehicle lost fluids from the engine and had to be towed. No injuries were reported.
