On Friday the Christian County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News.

 

33 year old Kerry K. Decker of Taylorville was arrested on Thursday on a bond forfeiture warrant for possession of cannabis.

 

59 year old Cathy C. Peters of Rochester was arrested on Thursday for possession of a controlled substance.

 

40 year old Aaron C. Davis of Taylorville was arrested on Thursday for domestic battery.

21 year old  Amelia R. Atkins of Pana was arrested Wednesday for retail theft.   

 

 

On Thursday the Christian County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News.

 

35 year old Kevin M. Purcell of Taylorville was arrested on Wednesday for unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

 

32 year old Sara M. Shehadeh of Taylorville was arrested on Wednesday for contempt of court.  

 

32 year old Michael D. White of Herrick was arrested on Thursday for possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance.  

 

19 year old David E. Dilley of Herrick was arrested on Wednesday for aggravated battery of a child/bodily harm.  

 

36 year old Jeremy R. Masters of Moweaqua was arrested on Thursday for contempt of court.   



 

Area Arrests/Accidents 4/27/2016

On Wednesday the Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News.  

 

On Tuesday at approximately 11:25 pm a Taylorville Police Department officer was on patrol traveling east on Poplar Street  when he saw the suspect vehicle traveling south on North Long Avenue and failed to stop at the intersection.  A traffic stop was conducted when the vehicle pulled into a driveway of a residence on North Chestnut Street between East Vine and Main Cross Street.  The driver/suspect, 25 year old Kevin M. Purcell of Taylorville admitted to his license being revoked and exited the vehicle.  Subsequent to arrest a handgun was located along with controlled substance.  A passenger/suspect, 26 year old Michael T. Morrissey of Morrisonville was arrested for possession of cannabis and failure to wear a seat belt.  The rear passenger/suspect, 23 year old Jessica S. Koonce of Taylorville was cited for failure to wear a seatbelt and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Purcell was transported to the Taylorville Police Department to be processed for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon, and being cited for failure to stop at a stop intersection, failure to wear a seatbelt, and driving with license revoked.

Area Arrests/Accidents 4/26/2016

On Tuesday the Christian County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News.


19 year old Mckenzie C. Coleman of Pana was arrested on  Monday for resisting and obstructing an officer.


33 year old Tawana R. Hall of Pana was arrested for aggravated fleeing.


19 year old Dylan R. Rentfro of Sigel, Illinois was arrested

for escaping and resisting a peace officer.  


On Tuesday the Christian County Sheriff’s Department reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News.


On April 23, 47 year old Gary R. Agney of Assumption was observed off the roadway in a creek. Danny Cameron contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report that Agney had driven thru his planted field.  When the officer arrived Agney had already been towed out of the creek.  Agney was issued a citation for leaving the scene of a property damage accident.


On April 26, 65 year old Vern A. Oller Jr. of Owaneco was northbound on on Highway Rt. 29 just south of 1000 Oller struck a deer in the roadway and received driver’s side damage.  No injuries were reported. 

 

On Tuesday the Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News.

 

On April 24, 47 year old Dwight Rozplochawski Jr. of Taylorville was arrested for a valid Champaign County warrant.

 

On April 24, 24 year old Meghan Rankin was arrested for driving while her driver’s license were suspended.

 

On April 24, 25 year old Joseph A. Leckur was arrested for failure to register as  violent sex offender.  Leckur was lodged at the Christian County Correctional Center.

 

On April 23, 46 year old Christina I. Wilson of Newton and 65 year old Patricia H. Horn of Taylorville were arrested for retail theft and released on a notice to appear.

 

On April 22, 26 year old Devon Newman of Owaneco was arrested for aggravated fleeing/attempting to elude, speeding 101 in a 45, manufacturing cannabis, and resisting and obstructing a peace officer.  

 

On April 23, 25 year old Joseph A. Leckur was arrested for a valid warrant out of Christian County without incident.  While on the stop, cannabis and paraphernalia were located next to the suspect/passenger.  23 year old Brady M. Knight of Taylorville. Knight was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.

 

On April 25, 29 year of Jeremy R. Coy of Taylorville was arrested on a valid Pike County warrant and was transported to the Christian County Correctional Center in lieu of bond.

On Friday the Christian County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News.

 

18 year old Shiloh K. Thomas of Taylorville was arrested on Thursday for possesion of cannabis.

 

21 year old Dylan B. Houk of Kincaid was arrested on Thursday for possesion of cannabis, as well as possesion of drug paraphernalia.

 

26 year old Darci D. Moffitt of Owaneco was arrested on Thursday for possesion of methamphetamine as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

ACCIDENTS:

 

Michael J. Day of Edinburg was was slowing down in the Eastbound Lane on IL. Rt. 29 at 725 East Rd. in a 1999 Ford F150 to turn south. 56 year old Mark W. Sturdy of Rochester was also eastbound on IL. Rt. 29 in a 2004 Ford F350. Sturdy stated that he was not paying attention and didn’t see Day turning. Sturdy struck Day in the rear passengers side. Day was taken to Memorial Medical Center for injuries.



 

On Friday the Taylorville Police Department reported the following accidents to regional Radio News.


On 4-21-16 officers were dispatched to 1617 E. Main Cross for an accident. The caller stated her 6 year old daughter had a bruise, but refused medical treatment. 44 year old Beth L. Denbow of Taylorville backed from the driveway at #2 Hillcrest Trailer Ct. onto East Main Cross in a 2007 Dodge Charger. 30 year old Tiffany D. Steward of Taylorville was backing out of her driveway in a 2014 Ford Hatchback. Denbow went across the eastbound lane of traffic colliding with Steward. Denbow was issued a citation for improper backing. Both refused medical treatment.

On Tuesday the Christian County Sheriffs Department reported the following arrests and accidents to Regional Radio News.

 

31 year old Steven T. Hardy of Evansville was arrested on Monday on a bond forfieture warrant for domestic battery. Bond was set at $5000.

 

38 year old Clifford R. Taylor of Taylorville was arrested on Monday on a bond forfeiture warrant for Domestic Battery as well as Contempt of Court. Bond was set at $15,000.

 

31 year old Steven M. Williams of Kincaid was arrested on Monday on a bond forfeiture warrant for criminal tresspasing to a personal residence. Bodn was set at $10,000.

 

 

ACCIDENTS

 

21 year old Austin L. Metzker of Owaneco was was traveling northeast on IL Rt. 48 in a 2012 Dodge Ram when, at approximately 1850 North, a deer entered the roadway. Metzker then collided with the deer in the roadway.

On Friday the Taylorville Police Department reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News.



16 year old Karlee S. Howell was was sitting in the left turn lane in a 2010 Ford 4 door waiting to turn from Spresser onto Webster. The light was changing yellow and Howell believed 16 year old Marissa N. Perry who was driving a 2007 Pontiac 4 door was slowing down and began to turn left. Perry continued through the intersection while it was still yellow, striking the rear passenger side of Howell. The impact pushed Howell into a Hyundai 4 door driven by 38 year old Jade J. Belcher, which was sitting in the left turn lane on Spresser waiting to turn onto Park.

22 year old Crystal E. Durham of Herrick was arrested on Wednesday for driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

32 year old Brehia N. Alaria of Kincaid was arrested on Wednesday on a bond forfeiture warrant for driving under the influence of alcohol. Bond was set at $2500.

 

32 year old Vincent B. Page of Taylorville was arrested on Wednesday for Meth Manufacturing as well as possession of Meth Manufacturing Materials.

 

36 year old Dustin B. Langen of Taylorville was arrested on Wednesday for Possession of a controlled substance, meth manufacturing, as well as possession of meth manufacturing materials.

22 year old Casey L. Haws of Taylorville was arrested on Wednesday on a bond forfeiture warrant for speeding 31-39 mph over the limit. Bond was set at $3000.

ACCIDENTS

 

36 year old Roslyn M. Tarrant of Taylorville was in traffic in a 2003 Chrysler Van, behind a truck that was waiting to make a left turn. 73 year old Robert D. Travis of Taylorville was driving a 1998 Plymouth Van, and did not realize that traffic was stopped until it was too late to stop in time. Travis attempted to veer to the right to avoid striking Tarrant, however could not avoid striking the vehicle.

26 year old Timothy J. Tish of Decatur was arrested on Tuesday on a bond forfeiture warrant for issuance of warrant. Bond was set at $5000.

 

52 year old Anthony D. Clardy of Taylorville was arrested on Tuesday on a bond forfeiture warrant for issuance of warrant.

 

ACCIDENTS:

 

33 year old Brian P. Garwood of Forsyth was traveling northeast on IL RTE 48 at 2200 North Rd in a 2011 Honda CR-V. The other party involved in the accident was described by Garwood as a dark colored GMC Truck. The GMC Truck was traveling east on 2200 North Road and was crossing IL RTE 48. The GMC Truck did not stop and entered the intersection and hit Garwood. Garwood was spun around in the roadway. The GMC Truck never stopped and continued east on 2200 North Rd.

 

On April 6, 2016 22 year old Shelby D. Cohn of Taylorville had overturned and come to rest on the roof of their 2002 Hyundai SUV in the ditch on the left side of 1600 North Road. Cohn and a single passenger was transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

 

On April 6th, 2016, 43 year old Gregory C. Cook of Edinburg was travelling northbound on CR-22 just north of CR-2 when a deer struck the driver’s side of Cook’s 2011 Hyundai Elantra.


24 year old Jordan M. May of Taylorville was heading westbound on North St. in a 2008 Chevrolet Impala approaching the intersection at Main St. 57 year old Deanna K. Chandler of Maroa was traveling northbound on Main St approaching North St in a 2011 Ford Explorer. May stated that he slowed down but did not stop at the stop sign at Main St. Chandler stated how she saw May, but thought he was going to stop. May stated he did not see Chandler, and proceeded into the intersection. May struck Chandler in the front passenger side corner.

Nicolini did not stop at the stop sign and struck a 1998 Dodge Durango, driven by 24 year old Nicholas E. Clements of Taylorville.

Accidents:


On 4-6-2016, 64 year old Christina L. Chrisman of Taylorville was traveling West on Spresser Street in a 2003 Buick Lesabre. Chrisman slowed to a stop for traffic. 18 year old WIlliam H. Richardson of Taylorville was following behind Chrisman in a 1986 Ford Ranger, was not able to stop in time and struck Chrisman, causing damage. Both vehicles were able to drive away from the scene.

On Thursday, April 7th, the Christian County Sherrifs Office reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:

 

On 4/5/16 24 year old Christian E. Crowder was traveling northbound on 2700 East Road in Montgomery County in a 2007 Nissan Quest. Crowder neared the intersection at 00 North Road and 1800 East Road in Christian County. Crowder went through the off set intersection without stopping. Crowder went off the roadway traveling northbound and hit a utility pole owned by Shelby Electric.Crowder came to rest in the east ditch on 1800 East Road and 00 North Road. Crowder had damage to the front end of the vehicle and also the rear end. The utility pole had damage to the bottom of the pole but was still standing. Crowder’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Taylorville Towing. Crowder was given a citation for operating a vehicle when registration is revoked. Shelby Electric was informed of the damage to the utility pole.

 

16 year old Drew M. Pettijohn was traveling Eastbound on 900 N Road and came to the intersection at 400 E Road. Pettijohn stated that he was driving too fast when he entered the intersection, which is a slight incline.  became airborn for approx. 60 ft. Pettijohn then began to slide sideways. Pettijohn slid sideways down the roadway for approx. 195 ft before spinning around backwards. Pettijohn entered the ditch on the south side of the roadway and struck the south side of the ditch with the passenger side of the rear bumper. Pettijohn then spun 180 degrees, facing East, before coming to rest in the ditch.


 

 

On Thursday, April 7th the Taylorville Police Department reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:


On 4-5-16 officers were dispatched to Park at East Main Cross for an accident with no injuries. Upon arrival officers made contact with both parties. 29 year old William D. Thomas who was driving a 2011 Hyundai Sedan said he rear ended 38 year old Corey L. Bland who was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. Neither party reported injuries. Thomas’ vehicle was towed, due to extensive front end damage. Thomas was also cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

31 year old Ronee N Foraker of Taylorville was arrested on Tuesday for retail theft.

 

55 year old Carolyn S Harris of Alltamont was arrested on Tuesday on a bond forfeiture warrant for an issuance of warrant. Bond was set at $3000.

 

 

 

On Wednesday the Taylorville Police Department reported the following accidents to Regional Radio:

 

Lisa A. Cunitz of Taylorville was driving a 2003 Toyota Matrix. Cunitz was stopped at a red light on Cheney St facing south. Taylor L. Williamson of Edinburg was driving a 2009 Toyota 4 door, and failed to slow/stop and struck Cunitz in the rear area of the vehicle. Williamson pushed Cunitz through the intersection, before coming to a stop.

 

On 4/1/16 officers were dispatched to Spresser at Cheney for a 2 vehicle accident with no injuries. Upon arrival officers made contact with Kendra N. Snider of Taylorville, who was driving a 2009 Chevy Silverado. Snider stated that she was at the stoplight and had the truck in park. Snider then put the truck in what she thought was drive. It turned out to be reverse, and she backed into Douglas D. Pedun of Taylorville, who was driving a 1999 Mazda Miata. Snider’s vehicle sustained rear bumper damage, while Pedun’s vehicle sustained major front end damage. Snider was cited for Improper Backing, and both vehicles were able to drive away from the scene.

On Tuesday, the Cristian County Sheriff’s department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio:

 

35 year old Kevin L. Montroy of Mt. Auburn was arrested on Monday on a bond forfeiture warrant for driving on a suspended/revoked license. Bond was set at $10,000.

 

55 year old Darryl G. Morganson of Rosemond was arrested on Monday for aggravated battery of a taxi driver, as well as obstructing an officer.

 

On Tuesday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following accidents to Regional Radio:

 

63 year old Byron E Bell was stopped in traffic in a 2015 Dodge SUV. 32 year old Joseph L. Dees was driving a 2001 Saturn 4 door, and was unable to stop in time to avoid striking the rear of Bell’s SUV.

Shelby County Area Arrests/Accidents 4-5-16

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday reported the following arrests to Regional Radio:

 

28 year-old Casey L. Wasson of Cowden was arrested on March 20 for domestic battery, possession of a controlled substance and for an active Shelby County warrant following a domestic disturbance at a rural Shelbyville residence. He was incarcerated in the Shelby County Detention Center.

 

41 year-old Danette Frey of Shelbyville was cited on March 22 for speeding 83 in a 55 mile per hour zone and driving while license revoked during a traffic stop at County Road 2325 East and County Road 1300 North. Frey was transported to the Shelby County Detention Center where she later posted bond and was released.

 

35 year-old Denise L. White of Cowden was cited on March 24 for no valid driver’s license, no insurance, improper display of license plates and operating a vehicle with expired registration. She was turned over to the Fayette County Sheriff after it was discovered she was found to be wanted on a Fayette County warrant.

 

46 year-old Greg Carter of Oconee was arrested on March 28 for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and disobeying a stop sign on Seneca Street in Tower Hill. He was transported to the Shelby County Detention Center and was later released after posting bond.

Area Arrests/Accidents 4-4-16

On Monday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio:

 

23 year-old Justin M. McKay of Taylorville was arrested on Friday for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $20,000.

 

23 year-old Danielle E. Patnode of Pana was arrested on Friday for possession of controlled substance.

 

22 year-old Zachary T. Williams of Williamsville, IL was arrested on Friday on a bond forfeiture warrant for driving on a suspended/revoked license. Bond was set at $5,000.

 

52 year-old Brian K. Pomeroy of Morrisonville was arrested on Friday on a bond forfeiture warrant for an issuance of warrant. Bond was set at $300.

 

18 year-old Chance A. Guglielmetti of Decatur was arrested on Monday for driving under the influence.

 

24 year-old Alexandria J. Moore of Auburn was arrested on Saturday for driving under the influence.

 

On Monday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio:

 

39 year-old Shannon M. Miller of Pana was arrested on Saturday for driving while license suspended and possession of drug paraphernalia. Also during the same traffic stop, 31 year-old Joshua E. Bain of Pana was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

44 year-old Jerry L. Burton of Stonington was issued a citation on Saturday for driving while license suspended.

 

51 year-old Bobby Smith Sr. of Taylorville was arrested on Friday for retail theft and released on a notice to appear.

 

Accidents:

 

84 year-old David L. Hawley of Taylorville was driving a 2000 Mercury 4-door, heading eastbound on East Park Street. 56 year-old Bret L. Spencer of Owaneco was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Impala, was traveling westbound on East Park Street. Hawley stated he thought Spencer had his turn signal on to turn right. Hawley turned northbound and struck Spencer’s Impala in the drivers side front quarter panel. Spencer said he did not have his turn signal on and was struck by Hawley. Spencer was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital by ambulance. Hawley was issued a citation for failure to yield while turning left. The accident occurred on March 31 at 12:59 p.m.


Officers were dispatched to Springfield Road at Burnett Drive for an accident with no injuries. Upon arrival, officers spoke with both owners of their respective vehicles: 64 year-old Alan L. Mann of Taylorville, owner of a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado and 73 year-old Thomas D. Rudolph of Mt. Auburn, owner of a 2007 Honda Accord. Rudolph stated he had the green turn arrow to turn onto Springfield Road. Mann stated that he believed the light to be yellow when he went through it, but did not want to go against the other driver’s word. Mann stated his insurance would take care of it. Rudolph’s Honda received major front end damage and Mann’s Silverado had a flat tire with an unserviceable rim. Mann stood by and changed his tire, and Rudolph was able to drive away from the scene. No citation was issued due to the conflicting stories. The accident occurred at 4:23 p.m. on April 1.

On Friday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio:

 

24 year-old Anthony J. Dickson of Taylorville was arrested on Thursday on a bond forfeiture warrant for driving on a suspended/revoked license. Bond was set at $3,000.

 

23 year-old Ryan A. Strohl of Pana was arrested on Thursday on a bond forfeiture warrant for driving on a suspended/revoked license. Bond was set at $5,000.

 

20 year-old Dylan L. Carroll of Pana was arrested on Friday for threatening a public official. Bond was set at $20,000.

 

Accidents:

 

28 year-old Joshua P. Green of Taylorville was driving a 1997 Chevrolet S10, traveling northwest on Illinois Route 29. At approximately 550 North, Green advised he noticed a small animal in the roadway, and stated it was either a raccoon or opossum. Green stated he swerved to miss the animal, then lost control of his S10. His vehicle rolled twice and turned 90 degrees to the right. His vehicle then came to rest off the left edge of the roadway on its top facing to the northeast. Greer was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital, while a passenger in his vehicle was not injured. The accident occurred on March 26 at 9:26 a.m.

 

65 year-old Lynn M. Battles of Nokomis, was driving her 2000 Ford Focus southbound on 2500 East Road. 60 year-old Patricia A. Kime of Tower Hill was driving her 2008 CTS Cadillac, eastbound on 900 North Road. Both vehicles approached the unmarked intersection at approximately the same time and collided in the intersection. Drivers of both vehicles advised they had not seen the other vehicle as they approached the intersection. Skid marks on 900 North Road indicate Kime’s vehicle approximately 10 feet prior to the collision. Upon the collision, Battles’ vehicle was forced off the roadway due to the collision. Once off the roadway, Battles’ Ford Focus rolled 90 degrees and turned 180 degrees before coming to rest on its passenger side in the field, approximately 30 feet to the east of 2500 East Road and approximately 60 feet to the south of 900 North Road. Battles’ was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital by ambulance, while Kime was taken to Pana Community Hospital by ambulance. Battles was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way in an intersection. The accident occurred on March 31 at 4:37 p.m.

 

On Friday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio:

 

34 year-old Justin R. Sherman of Taylorville was arrested for driving while license revoked and for a Christian County warrant. He was arrested along with 25 year-old Brianne L. Hughes of Taylorville for possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Accident:

Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident at Spresser and Clay Streets. 37 year-old Billie D. Nation of Taylorville stated, she was driving her 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix and that 18 year-old Maddison B. Allen of Taylorville, operating a 2006 Jeep Wagon 4 Door, had stopped in front of her and she could not stop in time and struck the rear of Allen’s vehicle. Allen stated she stopped because there was a vehicle that stopped in front of her and she was struck in the rear end by Nation. No injuries were reported. Nation’s Pontiac received front end damage and Allen had rear end damage. Nation was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident. The accident occurred on March 30 at 12:53 p.m.
