Area Arrests And Accidents 3/27/24

The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

3/18/24.  Prentice Frost arrested on a FTA Warrant.

 

3-16-24. Campbell, Robert C of Oconee, was travelling east on 200 North Road.  Just east of 1600 East Road a deer ran into the roadway hitting the vehicle.

 

3-15-24.  Cisco, Joshua A of Mt. Auburn, was travelling North on 800 East Road when a deer entered the roadway.  Driver was unable to avoid the deer. Vehicle struck the deer and Had damage to its front.  No juries were reported.  Vehicle driven from scene.

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

3/19/24


Louquaris J. Sullivan, age 21, of Taylorville was arrested on a Warrant.

 

Blake R. Law, age 24, of Mowequa Illinois, was arrested on a Warrant.

 

3/20/24

 

Trevor A. Durbin, age 23, of Taylorville, was arrested for Threatening a Public Official.

 

Allyssa T. Spinner, age 18, of Taylorville, was arrested for Retail Theft.

 

Alexis N. Christer, age 21, of Taylorville, was arrested for Retail Theft.

 

3/21/24

 

A Juvenile Male, age 16, of Taylorville, was arrested for Fleeing and Eluding.

 

3/22/24

 

Brandon M. Wilson, age 36, of Taylorville, was arrested for Trafficking in Persons and Child Endangerment.

 

Megan M. Wilson age 33, of Taylorville, was arrested for Trafficking in Persons and Child Endangerment.

 

3/23/24

 

Jerry L. Burton, age 52, of Taylorville was arrested for Unlawful use of a Weapon.

 

3/24/24

 

A Juvenile Female, age 17, of Taylorville was arrested for Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

 

3/25/24

 

David W. Moma, age 32, of Taylorville was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.


Cody L. Angeli, age 33, of Taylorville was arrested for Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property.

Arrests

 

3-14-24 Garry Younker, age 49, of Blue Mound was arrested by Kincaid PD for driving under the influence.

 

 

Crashes

 

3-9-24 Nickolas Schneider was traveling north at 800 N. 1250 East Rd in Johnson Township when he struck a deer in the roadway.

 

3-13-24 Douglas Theroff and Tyler Owens were involved in a traffic crash in Taylorville Township. Theroff was traveling northbound on County Highway #1 (Township Road 1250 E), and had stopped at the stop sign, with intersecting roadway Illinois Route 48. Owens was traveling eastbound on Illinois Route 48 and was approaching the intersection with County Highway #1/S. Shumway Street. (There are no traffic control signs for the eastbound and westbound traffic on IL Rte 48.) Theroff stated he stopped at the stop sign and watched two vehicles, heading west, pass through the intersection. He advised he looked both directions again, did not see any traffic coming, so he began to proceed north, across the highway. Owens stated, as he was approaching the intersection, he noticed Theroff begin to proceed. Owen advised he swerved towards the left, in an attempt to avoid being struck by Theroff. Theroff struck Owens in the intersection. All occupants refused medical treatment at the scene. Owen’s vehicle was towed from the scene.

Area Arrests And Accidents 03/11/24

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

Joshua L. Jones, age 48, of Taylorville was arrested for Meth Delivery.

 

Teresa D. Vaughn, age 55, of Taylorville was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

 

Brian Dailey, age 25, of Taylorville was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.3/08/24
 

The Taylorville Police responded to the following vehicle accidents;

 

On February 16th at 8:23 AM at Spresser and Cheney. Bruce Kettelkamp of Taylorville was waiting in traffic at the intersection of Spresser and Cheney facing southbound.  Cassia Brookens of Owaneco was turning north onto Cheney Street from Spresser Street.  As they were making the turn, Brookens slid on the slick roadway striking Kettlekamp's vehicle.  Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene. 

 

On February 23rd at 6:51 PM, on North Clay and West Vine Street, Connor Bilyeu of Taylorville was traveling south on North Clay Street approaching the intersection when they struck a parked vehicle.  Neither vehicle sustained disabling damage. 

 

On February 23rd at 10:56 PM, at S. Washington and West Main Cross.  Both vehicles advised they were backing up from parking spots when Chad Smith of Taylorville said he was hit.  He attempted to make contact with the driver of the other vehicle, a minor.  Smith says the minor left the area.  The minor says that Smith hit their vehicle and left the area also.  The minor went to the police station to file a report.  Smith said that he would be at TPD the next morning to file a report, but officers met at his residence to gather information and noticed some damage. 

 

On February 26th at 9:32 AM, at Route 29 and Route 104, Joy Stafford of Taylorville was traveling westbound on Route 104 and Deborah Watson of Tower Hill was also traveling westbound.  Watson attempted to change lanes and didn't see Stafford and struck their vehicle.  

 

On February 27th at 5:53 PM on Wilson and Webster, there was a two vehicle crash.  Pamela Lees of Taylorville stated that while they were facing southbound stopped at the light, a minorfailed to reduce speed and collided into the back of Lees vehicle.  

 

 

 

Area Arrests And Accidents 03/05/24

The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

Arrests

 

3-4-24 Jarad Challans, age 38,  of Pana  was arrested by Pana PD for disorderly contact and aggravated assault.

 

 

Crashes

 

2-23-24 Desiree Henschen was traveling on US Highway 51 in Pana Township when struck deer that entered the roadway. No injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

 

2-23-24 Leonard Pruitt backed out of a parking space in front of the 6th Street Market and backed into traffic and crossed the roadway. Pruitt hit a parked and unoccupied vehicle on the north side of the roadway in front of the city hall building. No injuries. No tows.

 

2-25-24 Audra Smith was traveling west on IL Route 104 near 785 E. when she struck a deer in the roadway. The vehicle was towed from the scene. No injuries.

 

3-1-24 Gregory Plattner was traveling East on 900 North Road at approximately 1575 East when he struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries. No tow.

 

3-2-24 Dan O Loughlin was traveling northwest on 2675 North Road. It is believed driver had a medical issue resulting in O Loughlin leaving the roadway to the right (North) and striking a tree. The vehicle was towed from the scene and O Loughlin was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Matthew T. Little, age 47, of Palmyra Illinois was arrested for Obstruction of Justice and Resisting Arrest.

 

3/01/24
Amanda G. Mollet, age 46, of Kincaid Illinois was arrested for Possession of Meth.

 

3/02/24
Amber L. Fixsal, age 42, of Taylorville was arrested on a Warrant.

 

3/03/24
Jerry L. Burton, age 52, of Taylorville was arrested for Criminal Damage to Property and Criminal Trespass.

 

Debbie S. Pfeffer, age 51, of Taylorville was arrested Criminal Damage to Property and Possession of Meth.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to the following vehicle crashes: 

 

On February 29th at 2:31 PM, on Route 48 and Shumway Street, Christal L. McClure of Harvel was traveling westbound on Route 48 and was approaching the intersection of Route 48 and was approaching the intersection of Route 48 and Shumway.  Hannah H. Felicetta of New York, New York who was traveling southbound on Shumway also approached the same intersection. Felicetta stopped but then proceeded into the intersection striking McClure's vehicle. 

 

On February 29th at 10:16 AM, Nikki R. Carls of Pana was heading north on Webster Street.  Delores M. Forbes of Taylorville was turning north on Webster Street from Wilson Street.  Carls stated she had a green light.  Forbes stated she had a green arrow to turn right.  There is no right turn arrow at that intersection.  The vehicles pulled into Esther Street.  Forbes issued a citation for failure to yield.
