The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

04-19-24  THEODORE WORKMAN, 55, WAS ARRESTED BY CCSO ON A WARRANT

 

4/24/24 – Jeremy Cagle, 45, of Virden was arrested on a FTA Warrant.

 

 

4/10/24

AUSTIN METSKER WAS TRAVELING WEST ON RT. 104; AROUND 780 EAST A TURKEY FLEW INTO THE ROADWAY. THE TURKEY HIT UNIT 1 IN THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE FRONT WINDSHIELD CAUSIGN MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE WINDSHIELD.

 

4/20/24

TODD KUENZEL, 31, WAS TRAVELING NORTH ON IL RT. 48 AT APPROXIMATELY 1690 NORTH WHEN IT STRUCK A DONKEY. THE DONKEY STRUCK BELONGED TO KRISTA HAYES.

Regina A. Poindexter, age 57, of Aurora Illinois, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine.

 

Theodore Workman, age 55, of Taylorville was arrested on a Warrant.

 

4/20/24

 

Aaron L. Whitaker, age 37, of Taylorville was arrested for DUI.

 

Jared K. Gambrel, age 33, of Shelbyville Illinois was arrested for Retail Theft.

4-17-24 OLIVER, BROOKLYNNE, 28, OF CUTLER, ILLINOIS, WAS ARRESTED ON A WARRANT.

 

4-17-24 LAKE, DONNAE, 50, OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS, WAS ARRESTED ON A WARRANT.

The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

4-15-24 – Cassandra Talbot, 31, of Springfield arrested on a Warrant.

 

Accidents –

 

4-9-24 – Miles Campbell of Taylorville was parked at approximately 105 Hagan Court, Taylorville IL.  When Campbell returned to vehicle after work and discovered it had been rear ended.

 

4/10/24  Lacey Trimble, 30, of Blue Mound, was travelling south near 3075 N 2024 East Road and struck a deer that entered the roadway.

 

4/8/24 Samuel Hughes, 45, of Kincaid, was travelling west on IL Route 104 at approximately 729 East when it struck a deer.

The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

4-8-24 – Justin Bland, 49, of Pana arrested on a Warrant.

 

4-8-24 – Jeffrey Kirk, 40, of Springfield arrested on a Warrant.

 

4-8-24 – Jeremy Cagle, 45, of Virden arrested on a Warrant.

 

 

4/2/24 – Alvivia Kent, 17, of Taylorville And Dawn Zwick, 65, of Taylorville were involved in an accident on 4/2/24.  Kent was turning left onto Kennedy Drive and Zwick was travelling west on Kennedy Drive.  Kent stopped at the stop sign and then started to turn.  Kent didn’t see Zwick because of the sun.  Kent vehicle hit Zwick’s causing damage to both vehicles.

 

4/3/24 – Kimberly Kirkendoll, 36, of Taylorville And Ryan Huttes. 52, of Pana were involved in an accident on 4/3/24.  Kirkendoll was travelling North of Rt 29 and about 1900 East Road.  Huttes was travelling south on Rt 29 and about 1900 East.  Kirkendoll lost control and drove into the other lane of traffic striking Huttes vehicle on the rear drivers side.

 

4/5/24 – Nathan Brown, 37, of Taylorville was travelling North on 940 East Road in Taylorville Township.  A deer entered the roadway and made contact with the vehicle.  The vehicle received damage to the driver side of the car.  The airbags on the driver side did deploy.  No injuries were reported.

 

4/7/24 – Dalton Woodcock, 21, of Decatur was travelling West on 100 North Road.  Vehicle failed to negotiate the intersection.  Vehicle left the roadway and collided with the West ditch.  Vehicle was found facing West in a field a short distance from 2100 East Road with front end damage.  Reporting officer on patrol found the occupied crashed vehicle.  The vehicle was removed from the field by Big Boy towing.  Vehicle was driven from the scene.  No injuries were reported.

 

4/6/24 – Joseph Nolen, 56, of Palmer And Ryan Housman, 21, of Taylorville were involved in an accident on 4/6/24.  Nolen was at the intersection of 5th Street and IL Route 48 stopped at a stop sign.  Housman was travelling West on IL Route 48.  Nolen entered the intersection and struck Housman’s vehicle.

 

4/6/24 – Ronald Cloyd, 58, of Mechanicsburg was travelling East on 2500 North Road when he passed the residence owned by Ryan Atwater.  Ryan’s dog started chasing the vehicle and struck the rear side of the vehicle.

A Juvenile Male, age 15, of Taylorville was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.

 

Area Arrests And Accidents 04/03/24

The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

Accidents –

 

3-29-24:  Whiltow, Rhea, 26, of Taylorville, was traveling East of Springfield St in Kincaid when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree on the south side of Springfield St.  Vehicle was found lying on its driver's side

 

With severe damage.  The driver said the vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason.  The driver was taken to hospital by ambulance.  The vehicle towed from the scene.

 

3-28-24:  Milligan, Jason, 42, of Taylorville, was traveling south on Houston Street.  The vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason.  Collided with and damaged a utility pole.  The vehicle was found unoccupied with severe front-end damage.

 

Deputies later made contact with the driver who stated the vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason.  Driver issued two citations.  Vehicle towed from scene.  No injuries reported.

Kyle J. Krouse, age 18, of Mechanicsburg Illinois, was arrested for Possession/Consumption of Liquor by a Minor.

 

Xena M. Fisher, age 19, of Stonington Illinois, was arrested for Possession/Consumption of Liquor by a Minor.

 

3/29/24

 

Brandon L. Moody, age 27, of Taylorville, was arrested for Driving While Registration is Suspended. 

 

3/30/24

 

Ethan Law, age 30, of Shelbyville Illinois, was arrested for Criminal Trespass to Vehicle.

 

3/31/24

 

Cody L. Angeli, age 33, of Taylorville, was arrested for Domestic Battery.

 

Bradley G. Denning, age 54, of Taylorville, was arrested for DUI.

 

4/01/24

 

Andrew M. Middleton, age 23, of Tower Hill Illinois, was arrested on a Warrant.

 

Taylorville Police responded to the following vehicle crashes:

 

On March 26th at 10:24 AM on South Cheney and West Market Street, Rose M. Coady of Taylorville was traveling south on South Cheney Street and John E. Caraker of Taylorville was traveling north on South Cheney.  Both vehicles were approaching Market.  Coady stated she didn't see any vehicle approaching the intersection and started her left turn on W. Market.  Caraker said he saw the other vehicle but didn't see any indication that the vehicle was going to turn.  The vehicles collided.  No injuries were reported. 

 

On March 25th at 2:45 PM at West Spresser and North Clay. Krystal L. Gatton of Taylorville was stopped in the line of traffic near the stop light.  Gatton came in contact from the rear of the vehicle.  Brian A. Otey of Taylorville advised his foot slipped off the peddle and didn't brake when Unit 1 came in contact with Gatton.  Otey declined medical attention.  Gatton received medical attention for themselves and their passenger.  Otey was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
