32 year old Skyler Myers of Taylorville was arrested on Monday on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, retail theft, and driving on a suspended or revoked license.

37 year old John Brilley of Pana was arrested on Monday on a charge of methamphetamine precursor.

43 year old Matthew Harden of Owaneco was arrested on Monday on a charge of theft, and deception.

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests and accidents to Regional Radio News on Tuesday:

22 year old Connor Lingl of Taylorville was in an accident on July 28th. Unit 2, a trailer attatched to a motor vehicle, was parked near the Christian County Fairgrounds. Lingl was traveling eastbound approaching the trailer, and struck the back of the trailer. According to the accident report, it caused damage to the front end of Lingl’s vehicle, and the rear lights and lift gate on the trailer. Upon further investigation, Lingl was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested. Lingl refused medical attention, and there were no passengers involved.

66 year old Janet Grundy of Taylorville was in an accident on July 27th. According to the accident report, there was a legally parked vehicle in the 200 block of West Franklin Street. Grundy was traveling east on Franklin Street and drifted over and struck the parked vehicle. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Grundy refused medical attention, and there were no passengers involved in the accident.

33 year old Daniel Shimkus of Springfield was arrested on Wednesday on a charge of retail theft. According to the arrest report, Family Dollar called to report a shoplifter in the store at 8:02 in the evening. Shimkus was located in the store and arrested. He was transported to T.P.D. for processing and released on a notice to appear. He was also issued a no trespass to the store.

54 year old Steven Lowis of Palmer was in an accident on July 12th at 4:25 in the morning. Lowis was traveling north east on Illinois Route 48 at 1050 North. According to the accident report, a deer entered the roadway and Lowis hit the deer. Lowis continued driving until he got to the Christian County Sheriff’s office for report.

89 year old Rosemary Mundhenke of Morrisonville was in an accident July 12th at 7:16 in the morning. Mundhenke was traveling northeast on Illinois Route 48 when at 770 East, a dear came into the roadway. Mundshenke struck the deer causing front end damage to her vehicle, and Mundhenke’s car was towed from the scene by Larry Auto Service. There were no injuries.

26 year old Maxx Ellinger of Taylorville was in an accident on July 12th at 10:37 at night. Ellinger was traveling south on 1025 East Road at about 1400 North. A deer entered the roadway from the west and was moving east. According to the report, Ellinger hit the deer in the roadway causing a wreck. Ellinger’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Kertows.

48 year old Richard Thurow of Palmer was in an accident on July 13th at 3:45 in the afternoon. Deputy Goebel was called to a traffic accident in Palmer last Friday. According to the accident report, when Goebel arrived at the scene, Thurow explained what had happened. According to Thurow, he is an over the road truck driver and left Palmer on July 8th, and came back July 13th. Thurow said that while he was gone, an unknown person took his vehicle for a drive, and hit a deer. Thurow mentioned that his vehicle was parked in the same place as when he left it on Sunday, and that he did not give anyone permission to drive his vehicle. Thurow left his vehicle at his place of employment, and there was damage on the front drivers side.

84 year old Barbara Jasper of Oreana, and 55 year old Elizabeth Curlin of Decatur were in an accident on July 14th at 10:38 in the morning. Curlin was stopped in the roadway at a designated railroad crossing waiting on a train to pass. Jasper ran into the back of Curlin’s vehicle while stopped at the crossing waiting for the train. There were two passengers involved, both were in Curlin’s car, JT Kramer and Shirley Kramer of Decatur. There were no injuries.

25 year old Samantha Andring of Pawnee was arrested on Friday on a charge of driving under the influence.

43 year old Earl Mack of Baldwin was in an accidente July 11th at 8:35 in the morning. According to the accident report, Mack had turned into a parking lot at 2493 South Spresser Street to turn back onto the roadway. While making the turn, Mack hit a concrete barrier and also dug ruts into the gravel drive. Mack was able to drive away from the scene.

23 year old Sarah Morillo of Taylorville was in an accident on July 14th at 2:51 in the morning. Morillo was traveling southbound on South Cheney Street when she struck Unit 2, who was parked on the roadway in front of their residence. Morillo struck the rear of Unit 2 causing unit 2 to roll into the intersection of Cheney and Adams street. Morillo also caused damaged to Unit 2’s chain-link fence. Morillo was towed from the scene, and nobody needed medical attention. Morillo was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and was arrested for driving with a suspended license, and driving while under the influence.

21 year old Broderick Walton of Edinburg and 64 year old Rebecca McPeck of Taylorville were in an accident on July 11th at 5:17 in the afternoon. According to the accident report, Walton failed to yield to traffic while turning south onto Webster Street from Park Street. McPeck was traveling east on Park Street when Walton pulled out infront of her causing McPeck to collide with Walton on the passenger side of his vehicle. McPeck was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital in a Dunn’s ambulance. Walton refused medical assistance. There were no passengers involved.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests and accidents to Regional Radio News on Friday:

Unit one was traveling northbound on Township Road 940 East at approximately 650 feet north of Township Road 1320 North. Unit 1 exited the roadway to the left. The driver’s side tires went into the grass of the west ditch before the driver overcorrected the vehicle. Unit one came back onto the road, and begann spinning in a clockwise direction. Unit one skidded across both traffic lanes before hitting a guardrail on the east side of the roadway. The impact forced Unit one to come to a rest in the middle of the bridge facing south. Unit one was moved south from the bridge, and was parked a short distance from the scene along the west side of the roadway. Unit one had major front end damage, and no injuries were reported.

16 year old Ty Sanders of Taylorville and 44 year old Johanna Reynolds of Auburn were in an accident on Thursday at 4:26 in the afternoon. According to the accident report, Reynolds was traveling westbound on Park Street and had the right of way. Sanders was traveling southbound on Main Street and came to a stop at the stop sign at Park and Main Streets. The report says that Sanders view was obstructed by bushes on the northeast corner of the intersection, and Sanders proceeded into the intersection. Sanders could not see Reynolds, and was hit on the drivers side truck bed by the front end of Reynolds car. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were able to leave the scene. Sanders was issued a citation for failure to yield stop at an intersection.

38 year old Tiffany Sims of Pana and 19 year old Harmston Delaney of Pana were in an accident on July 9th at 8:05 in the morning. Delaney was traveling west on Park Street and stopped for traffic near the intersection of Park and Long Streets. Sims was following behind Delaney and not able to stop in time according to the police report. Sims struck Delaney causing damage. Both vehicles were able to drive away from the scene.

21 year old Broderick Walton of Edinburg and 64 year old Recca McPeck of Taylorville were in an accident of July 7th at 5:17 in the afternoon. According to the accident report, Walton failed  to yield to traffic while turning south onto Webster Street from Park Street. McPeck was traveling east on Park Street when Walton turned in front of her causing her to collide with the passenger side of Walton’s car. Walton refused medical attention, but Broderick was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital in a Dunn’s Ambulance.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests and accidents to Regional Radio News on Thursday:

17 year old Abbagail Hattenbach of Kincaid was in a car accident on Wednesday at 11:39 in the morning. Hattenback was driving southbound on Township Road 300 East. According to the report, Hattenback was just north of Township Road 1000 North when she lost control of her car on the gravel roadway. She skidded from right to left, then attempted to correct which made her car rotate clockwise and landing in a ditch. The report states that after her car struck the ditch, it overturned once landing on its wheels, and came to a rest in a planted cornfield. Hattenbach’s car took damage on the front passenger side and the rear drivers side of the car according to the report. No injuries were reported, and Hattenbach refused medical attention.

57 year old Richard Stephens of Taylorville was in an accident on July 4th at 7:46 in the morning. Stephens was traveling on Main Cross Street and was preparing to turn westbound onto park street. According to the report, Stephens aid that his brakes malfunctioned and he drove onto the median and hit a traffic control signal. Stephens did not need medical attention, but his car was towed from the scene.

83 year old Tiney Walker of Taylorville, 46 year old James Banfield of Taylorville, and 29 year old Lee Wilson of Decatur were in an accident on July 8th at 6:14 in the afternoon. According to the police report Walker was stopped at the intersection of Park Street and Long Street facing north. Banfield was heading west on Park Street, and Wilson was stopped at the intersection of Park Street and Long Street facing south. The report states that Walker did not see Banfield drive through the intersection, and Banfield’s car hit Walker’s. Walker’s car was then pused into Wilson’s. The Police Report says that Walker and Wilson both had stop signs, and Banfield did not. Wilson, and his passenger Jennifer Fasick, 26, of Taylorville were sent to Taylorville Memorial Hospital in a Dunn’s ambulance complaining of neck pain. Banfield said that he also had pain in his neck, but refused medical attention. Walker did not sustain any injuries, according to the report. Walker issued a citation for failure to yield at an intersection, and all three cars had to be towed from the scene.

33 year old Brooke Declerck of Taylorville, 76 year old Lloyd Williams of Taylorville, and 40 year old Tabitha Hackney of Taylorville were in an accident on July 10th at 3:51 in the afternoon. Declerck was driving southbound on Springfield Road, according to the accident report, when he stated that Williams slammed on his breaks, and she struck his vehicle. Originally Williams stated that he hit Hackney’s car before he was hit by Declerck. However, Williams later stated that he thinks Declerck hit him first, and then he hit Hackney’s car. Hackney says she was stopped at the traffic light at Springfield Road and Bidwell Street when she was rear ended. Declerck was towed from the scene, and was issues a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

82 year old Rosie Wilder of Taylorville was in an accident at 3:41 in the afternoon on Monday. Wilder was heading westbound on County road 1450 north. According to the report, Wilder drove off the road to the right, and clipped a railroad track. She was able to re-enter the roadway, and come to a stop in the middle of the roadway. Wilder’s car received front-end damage, and was towed from the scene. Wilder did not need medical attention, and there were no passengers involved.

41 year old Ryan Buerk of Owaneco and 62 year old Daniel Thompson of Pana were in a car accident July 6th at 8:30 in the morning. According to the accident report, Buerk was driving northbound on Illinois Route 29. Buerk claims that he fell asleep at the wheel and struck the back of Thompson’s car, also traveling northbound. Buerk refused medical treatment, and Thompson was not injured. There were no passengers involved.

21 year old Tucker May of Taylorville, and 17 year old Isabella Thomas of Taylorville were in a car accident July 6th at 3:30 in the afternoon. According to the Sheriff’s report, Thomas was stopped in traffic waiting for the vehicle in front of her to turn. May did not see that the vehicles were stopped, and ran into the back of Thomas’ car. Thomas was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital, and May was not injured. There were no passengers involved.

62 year old Richard Reber and 90 year old Grace Hoffman were in a car accident on July 3rd around 1 oclock in the afternoon. According to the report, Reber was traveling northbound on S. Cherokee Street in Taylorville. Reber said that he stopped at the four-way stop at Cherokee Street and E. Main Cross Street, and did not see anyone. He then turned left onto E. Main Cross Street where Hoffman was walking across the street. The report states that Reber says he hit his brakes, but not before running into Hoffman. There was no damage to Reber’s vehicle, and Hoffman was transported to Springfield Memorial Hospital for treatment.

62 year old Robert Declerck of Taylorville and 47 year old Mary Caraker were in an accident on June 30th at 8:30 in the morning. According to the report Caraker was traveling north on Spresser Street and was driving through the intersection of Cheney and Spresser streets. Declerck was traveling west on Spresser Street, near Cheney Street, and failed to yield at the red traffic light. Declerck entered the intersection and struck Caraker’s vehicle causing damage. Caraker’s car had to be towed from the scene, and she was sent to Taylorville Memorial Hospital in a Sutton’s Ambulance. Declerck was arrested, and refused medical attention.

62 year old Andrew McMahon of Taylorville, and 16 year old Seth Johnson of Taylorville were in an accident on July 2nd at 1:54 in the afternoon. According to the accident report, Johnson was heading southbound on Webster Street, and came to a stop at the stop light located at the intersection of Wilson and Weber Streets. McMahon was traveling southbound on Weber Street, and failed to reduce his speed. McMahon collided with the back of Johnson car causing damage to both vehicles. McMahon had damage on the front winch, and Johnson sustained minor damage to his rear bumper. There were no injuries, and both vehicles were able to drive away from the scene.

Rex Montgomery of Taylorville was in an accident on June 29th at 6:10 in the morning. According to the accident report. Montgomery was traveling Southbound when he exited the roadway due to a medical issue. Montgomery drove through the parking lots of Edward Jones, Maurcies, and Wendy’s causing damage to the Maurcies parking lot and Wendy’s landscaping. Montgomery was transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital in a Sutton’s ambulance, and his vehicle was towed from the scene.

20 year old Michael Nelson of Taylorville was in an accident on June 30th at 1:29 in the afternoon. The accident report stated that Nelson was backing out of a residence in the 700 block of Pauline Street. Nelson backed into a legally parked car causing damage. Both vehicles were able to drive away from the scene, and nobody was injured.
