The Taylorville Tornado Boys Basketball team dropped game two to the Effingham Purple Hearts 39-35. Dillon Clark is named the Brandon Bible Country Financial Player of the Game.

As heard on 96.5 FM The Chill, The Taylorville Lady Tornadoes defeated the Effingham Flaming Hearts 58-46. Kyleigh Heimsness was named the Brandon Bible Country Financial Player of the game.

The Taylorville Tornado Boys Varsity Basketball squad fell to the Williamsville Bullets 48-32 for game one of the 2023-2024 season. Trysten Anderson is named the Brandon Bible Country Financial Player of the Game.

The Taylorville High School Varsity Girls bowling team competed in the Triad Invitational on 11-25.

The team placed fifth overall, with four of the girls finishing in the top 30 individually. Junior Kylie Callaway lead all the THS bowlers finishing in 15th place. Sophomore Kierstyn Diehl placed 19th overall. Sophomore Abby Parry and Junior Macie Johnson finished 24th and 28th respectively.

As heard on 96.5 The Chill Taylorville Lady Tornadoes Improve to 4-0 with a 39-31 win over Mount Zion. They play Civic Memorial Saturday evening at 8 pm. The winner will win the Taylorville Thanksgiving Tournament. 

The Central A&M Lady Raiders defeated the Broadlands (Heritage) Hawks 66-11 on Monday night. Lyndi Woods led the Raiders with 16. The Lady Raiders improved to 3-0 on the season they face off against Argenta-Oreana on the road tomorrow night.

The Taylorville Football Team got together for their annual banquet following the conclusion of the sports year. Coach Jeb Odam along with his staff praised their players including their best offensive player, defensive player, and then of course the Brandon Bible Country Financial Player of the Year.

This year WTIM’s Leroy Kleimola along with Brandon Bible were on hand to present the award to Taylorville’s Wide Receiver, cornerback, and kicker Clark Rahar. 

Rahar says he was honored to receive the award.  

Rahar joked that he got into kicking for the team by accident. 

Brandon Bible, from Country Financial says that Taylorville athletics mean a lot to him and to Country Financial. 

Bible says that Country Financial is proud to sponsor the Player of the Game for Taylorville athletics.

The Windsor Stewardson/Strasburg Volleyball Team was defeated in three sets by Cissna Park on Friday, November 3rd. The sets went, 16-25, 25-19, 26-28. This was the Super-Sectional match-up and Cissna Park moves on to the State Championship. Stay tuned to Reginal Radio News for an update from Head Coach, Ronda Schlechte.

Regional Radio News has received the All-Apollo Conference Teams for Boys Soccer this year.  Congratulations to the Mahomet Seymour Bulldogs on their championship and the first and second team honorees. 

The Windsor Stewardson/Strasburg Volleyball squad took down Cerro Gordo last night in two sets, winning set one 25-16 and set two 25-17, and are now sectional champions. The team improves to 34-5 on the year and looks to the State Championship Series, starting with Cissna Park, on November 3rd at 6:00 p.m.
