As heard on Newstalk WTIM 96.1FM, 107.5FM, Galesburg defeated Taylorville by a final score of 61-42 to take 3rd place in the 6th Annual Taylorville Holiday Tournament.
Taylorville boys basketball will open up action tonight in their own holiday tournament against Rochester at 8:30pm. The Tornadoes are currently on a 2-game skid and have not played since December 13th.
Head coach Ryan Brown says this tournament will be well received for a THS team that has been in limbo for the past 3 weeks.

Shelbyville boys basketball fell in opening day of play today at the 45th Annual Vandalia Holiday Tournament to Patoka, 53-47. The Rams are now 7-2 on the season and will look to take on the dreaded “double day” tomorrow at 10am against Flora and then at 6:30pm versus Father McGivny High School.

Central A&M girls basketball got a nice non-conference win over Arthur 53-36 last Tuesday night. The Lady Raiders will be off until the first week in January where they will take part in the Macon Co. Tournament.
Head coach, Tom Dooley says that the bounce back win after a buzzer beater loss to Tuscola the night before, was much needed.

Taylorville boys basketball fell to St. Teresa of Decatur last night 56-47 in a non-conference road match up. THS turned the ball over 15 times but forced 17 turnovers themselves, however it was not enough to overcome the great offensive play of the Bulldogs.
Head coach, Ryan Brown was unavailable for comment after the game but assistant coach Stile Smith visited with Newstalk WTIM's broadcast team after the game and says the Tornadoes just did not take advantage of certain aspects of the game.
Coach Smith also said this loss will prove to be a learning experience for THS.
The Bulldogs used 3 quarter scores of double figures (17, 14, 16) to hand THS their 2nd loss in a row.

Tornadoes girls basketball fell to state ranked Civic Memorial High School last Saturday afternoon by a final of 82-38. THS moves to 5-4 on the season after their red hot 4-0 start to begin the year during the Thanksgivig tournament.
