Pana Football Team Builds On One Game At A Time

This is part of an ongoing series highlighting some of the area football programs for the Fall:

The Pana Football team finished last year 9-2.  After a tough playoff loss eliminated them last year in a game against Downs (Tri-Valley) the Panthers look to continue on last year’s success.  Coach Trevor Higgins says that most of his offense will be back and are definitely hungry but Higgins says they take it one day, one game at a time.

Higgins also says, despite starting on the road, having a traveling fan base really helps.

The Pana Panthers kick off the 2019 football season on the road against Staunton.

Shelbyville Rams Looking To Improve On Last Year

This is an ongoing Summer Series on the upcoming High School Football Season.

The Shelbyville Rams are looking forward to keeping the injuries away this year. Bill Duckett, hopes that his team can improve on their 3-6 record last year and one way to do that is by keeping everyone healthy.

Duckett says the schedule is tough, but also provides some fun moments as well.  One of those moments is the first game of the season against Seneca.

While there is a lot of football to be played, Duckett says while the Seneca game will be fun, it’s the rivalry games that make the season.

The Shelbyville Rams season starts on August 31st.
