State Representative Brad Halbrook Asks The Community About Property Taxes

State Representative Brad Halbrook of Shelbyville is asking residents across the 107th District and surrounding Central Illinois communities to share how high property taxes are affecting their lives.

Throughout the summer, Representative Halbrook will be collecting testimonials from constituents in an effort to highlight what he calls the real-world impact of Illinois' property tax system and to support future reform efforts in Springfield.

Halbrook says Illinois families continue to face some of the highest property taxes in the nation, creating challenges for homeowners, farmers, and businesses alike. He says rising property taxes are making it more difficult for families to remain in their homes, for farmers to stay competitive, and for businesses to expand and invest in their communities.

The information gathered through the initiative will be used to help lawmakers better understand the impact high property taxes are having across Central Illinois. Halbrook says he plans to share the findings with the Governor's Office as he continues advocating for long-term property tax relief measures.

Residents who wish to share their experiences can do so online through Representative Halbrook's website at RepHalbrook.com. For additional information, residents can also contact Representative Halbrook's district office at 217-342-0220.
