The Christian County Historical Society is reaching the end of its summer concert series.  The final show for 2026 takes place this Wednesday at 7 p.m.  It’s set to round out a series full of uniquely themed shows.  Co-President Jodi Heberling says the most recent show was an interactive one geared towards kids. 

The Historical Society is now turning its attention to a busy late fall.  The schedule then begins with the annual Persimmon Party on Saturday, November 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

On Friday, November 20 at 6 p.m., community members will be able to take part in a Christmas decoration creation event at the Historical Society.  Participants will learn how to create “half-wreaths,” which they can then use as home décor. 

The Historical Society is also hoping to host a square dance event.  Part of their aim is to attract a younger audience than they have for other events.
