The Taylorville Chamber of Commerce celebrates the completion of the new columbarium at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. A columbarium is similar to a mausoleum, but for cremation urns. Taylorville City Council Member Megan Bryant was the one who cut the ribbon today.
Bryant said that the ribbon cutting is to commemorate this new columbarium having reached its long-awaited arrival, and that local leadership believes it will be good for the community. Bryant also said it is a well-done job and hopes the community will have a chance to come and see it.
The attendees of this ribbon cutting included Taylorville City Council Member Steve Dennis, the Cemetery Superintendent Mike Tennant, Taylorville Chamber of Commerce members April Wolfe and Mark Wolfe, City Accounting Clerk Holly Cahill, City Clerk Jolynne Richardson, and the City of Taylorville's Human Resources Manager and Loss Control Coordinator Traci Bentley.
