It was announced that Christian County State’s Attorney Mike Havera was selected as a top-two finalist for U.S. Attorney for Central Illinois. Mike Havera sat down with Regional Radio News to talk about the announcement and all the prep work that went into being selected as a finalist. Havera says that he was extremely impressed with the process. 

Havera says he had no aspirations about taking the US Attorney’s job but when the position opened up, he said it wasn’t something he wanted to miss out on.

There is no definitive timeline on when this will go but Havera says his focus is completely on Christian County State’s Attorney.

There was too many people for Havera to thank for this whole process, but he praised Senators Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin.
