A Shelby County man has died from the coronavirus. Shelby County is reporting their first resident to die of COVID-19 is a 73-year-old male from Shelbyville. He was hospitalized at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon. He tested positive on April 24th and passed away at 10:15 on Tuesday morning.
The man did not have any underlying health conditions and the Shelby County Department of Public Health is urging all citizens to take the necessary precautions to stop the spread of the virus.
