Taylorville Lake Lots are opening for maintenance purposes this weekend. A memo from the office of Taylorville Mayor Bruce Barry reminded residents that the Lake Lot gates will be open from Friday, April 17th through the 19th from 8 am to 4 pm on each of those days. The purpose of the gates being open is for residents to clean and pick up their sites. No campers are allowed. Breaking the rules, or being on the premises outside of the allotted hours will result in automatic lease termination.
The memo also reminds residents of the city-wide burn ban, which does extend to the cleaning of the Lake Lots. Bagged up trash can be disposed of by the city by either taking it to the city dump or placing where the wood chip pile used to be on West Lakeshore Drive.
