Taylorville City Council Votes to Preserve Flagpole at Monthly Meeting

The Taylorville City Council met on Monday for their first meeting of the month. The first item on the agenda was a proclomation of April being named “National Donate Life Month” in Taylorville. Following the proclamation, the cast of Taylorville High School’s musical “Cinderella” was honored as the youth of the month. Before moving on to Committee Reports, Mayor Bruce Barry discussed tornado cleanup efforts, and shares the best thing the public can do to help.

 

 

The council then moved on to committee reports, and the motion was placed to keep the old flagpole at Oak Hill Cemetery in place with a plaque to serve as a memorial to the December tornado. Barry on the councils decision.

 

 

The Taylorville City Council meets on the first and third Monday of every month.
