State Representative Avery Bourne Speaks Out Against New Abortion Bills

Activists from across the state attended a rally at the State Capitol on Wednesday to protest against two abortion bills moving the General Assembly. One of the two bills making its rounds would remove medical certification requirements for staff at an abortion facility, and remove state inspection requirements from abortion facilities. Abortion has long been a heavily debated topic, and many republicans in Illinois have spoken out against the bills including State Representative Avery Bourne.

Bourne goes as far to say that the bill is dangerous compared to many of the policy goals in place.

Bourne spoke, along with several other House Republican’s, about their problems with the new bills.
