Republican, Rodney Davis was up for re-election to represent the 13th district in Illinois. However, his democratic opponent, Betsy Dirksen Londrigan gave him quite the challenge. Once all votes were tallied, the difference was about 3,600 votes, in favor of Davis. Davis new the race was close, but is thankful for the support he received from Christian County and others.
The big story line nationwide during the election was that the democrats were able to flip the house. Davis things that it could actually be a good thing for republicans.
After the election, it is time for Davis to get back to work, but it sounds like he is looking forward to it.
