The US Army Corps of Engineers have been taking care of Lake Shelbyville to make sure that it is a family friendly environment to go to and have a great time.
Sarah Haslett is a Natural Resources Specialist she shares how they take care of the public events at the lake.
Haslett says the Corps of Engineers handles the three largest lakes in the state of Illinois. She compares the other dams to the one at Lake Shelbyville.
