Conference Committee Set to Meet on Farm Bill

The Conference Committee tasked with handling the Farm Bill is set to meet in Washington and has till the end of the month to come up with something that both the House and Senate can agree to pass.

Congressman Rodney Davis serves the Illinois 13th District and he is on the Conference Committee now for his second time. He says this is a big deal, he doesn't want to have to extend the current bill and is looking forward to being the voice of Central Illinois on the matter at hand.

Davis says the agriculture side has been neglected in recent Farm Bills and he is hoping to fix that this time around, specifically looking at ag research to keep the ball moving forward in the field.

Davis appeared as a guest on the Newstalk WTIM Morning Show.
