The Taylorville Park Board heard some good and bad news in regards to the Manners Park Pool at their Tuesday night meeting. Recreation Director Bailey Hancock said while the opening weekend was a success, there are some problems that will need to be addressed:

Hancock says none of the problems will cause them to shut down for the pool season but will need to be taken care of when the pool closes in August.

The Taylorville Park Board voted to demolish the Caretakers House if they are approved for a grant that will help cover the cost. The Board cannot have the house demolished prior to applying and being approved for the grant or they will become ineligible for it. Several ideas for what to do with the space include a small pavilion or bathrooms. The Board approved an ordinance to file an amended annual budget for FY ‘14-15.

The meeting adjourned at 7:58pm.
