Area Arrests/Accidents 7-1-13

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Angela M. Rogers, 24, of 1000 Lori Lane, Springfield, was arrested June 28 for retail theft

Michael D. Pettijohn, 38, of 902 Main Street, Palmer, was arrested June 30 for domestic battery.

James G. Tirpak, 28, was arrested June 29 for battery

William J. Coghlan, 35, was arrested June 29 for battery and criminal damages greater than $300

Joshua Westerfield, 29, of 612 North Cottage Street, Taylorville, was arrested June 28 for threatening a public official and public intoxication

Clint A. Emery, 21. of 1212 West Pauline Street, Taylorville, was arrested June 28 for driving with driver's license revoked.

Shane E. Jones, 25, of 350 Central Avenue, Kincaid, was arrested June 28 for theft/unauthorized control

Tilur M. Miller, 19, of 120 Hillcrest Trailer Ct., Taylorville, was arrested June 29 for consumption of liquor by a person under age 21.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On June 28 at 3:18pm, Taylorville Police Department officers were sent to Christian County Mental Health for a male that was threatening to kill a female. Following investigation, Joshua Westerfield, 28, of Taylorville was placed under arrest for threatening a public official. Westerfield was transported to Christian County Sheriff's Office in lieu of bond.

On June 28 at 10:43pm, Taylorville Police Department officers were dispatched to Pawpaw and Poplar Street in reference to a hit and run. The suspect, Lorenzo C. Harper. 23. of Taylorville was located at 304 North Shumway Street. Harper was transported to Taylorville Police Department for processing and was issued two citations: driving wile license was suspended or revoked and failure to report an accident to police. Harper was released on a notice to appear.

On June 30 at 11:39pm, a Taylorville Police Dpeartment officer saw a dark blue Hyundai on Webster and Park with a headlight out. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Park Street. The vehicle stopped in the parking lot of China Pavilion on Main Street. The driver, Steven D. Leonard, 33, of Taylorville was arrested for driving with suspended license. He was transported to Taylorville Police Department for processing and released on a notice to appear.
