width=The Edinburg Wildcat volleyball team chose to make it interesting as they continued their advance in the 1A State volleyball tournament. The Wildcats won their sectional semi-final against a feisty, but young, Harden Calhoun Warrior team.

The Wildcats and Warriors played back and forth volleyball throughout the first set until late when the Wildcats were able to string together a run that put the set away 25-23. In the second set the Wildcats started quickly only to see the momentum slip away as the Warriors captured the set 20-25. With a trip to the sectional finals on the line, the Senior laden team from Edinburg managed to shake off a sluggish start that saw them fall into a 6-0 hole before rallying for a thrilling 25-21 victory.

The Wildcats are in the first year of a co-op with Kincaid South Fork and have advanced further than either team has. Their record stands at 26 and 12 and they will face Jacksonville Routt in the Sectional Finals on Thursday evening at 7 pm. The match will take place at Carrollton High School.
