With the 4th of July almost here, police agencies are gearing up for saturation patrols and roadside safety checks, and one of their major efforts will be to monitor seatbelt usage.

Christian County Sheriff Bruce Kettelkamp says buckling up just makes sense, as an accident victim in Stonington recently learned.

Police will also be extra watchful for drunk drivers during the holiday period.
