Officers were sent to a traffic crash on Wednesday at Rt. 48 and South Spresser Street in Taylorville. Thomas J. Bauer, 30, of Belleville said he was stopped at the stop sign behind Melanie E. Tarrant, 44, of Morrisonville.
Bauer thought Tarrant had proceeded through the intersection and moved forward Bauer then hit Tarrant's 2004 Pontiac Grand Am with his 2005 Freightliner truck. Tarrant said she was stopped at the stop sign and then was struck by Bauer.
There were no injuries reported from the accident.
