The City of Taylorville has claimed 14th place, as Reader’s Digest today provided the initial results from its 2012 We Hear You America campaign, naming the 18 winning communities who are slated to receive funding and promotional support for community projects and civic initiatives to better their communities.
Taylorville Mayor Greg Brotherton talked about how getting money from the Reader’s Digest campaign was a team effort.

Before the money is dispersed it will have to go through the Taylorville City Council. Brotherton does not yet know what the $5000 will be spent on, but he wants it to help everyone in the community.

The next Taylorville City Council Meeting is tonight at 115 North Main Street in Taylorville.
