The Taylorville Optimist Club will be holding its fireworks display on Sunday, July 4th. The event was unable to be held last year due to COVID.  The fireworks will be shot off at Lake Taylorville across from the Lake Marina at dusk. Secretary-Treasurer of the Optimist Club, Jim Adcock says he is excited to be able to have this event again after missing last year.

There will be food vendors set up at the Marina during the day along with the Municipal Band at 7 PM and the Touch of Class DJ Service.

The event is completely paid for by sponsorships and donations from numerous businesses and individuals in the community.

Some of the many sponsors for this year's fireworks include Bob Ridings Ford, Mid IL Dental Clinic, Peoples Bank and Trust, First National Bank of Taylorville, Milling Millwork, McDonald's, and many others.
