Region 6 Relaxing COVID Restrictions; Moving To Phase 4

As more regions begin to open up, Governor JB Pritzker along with the Illinois Department of Public Health announced that Region 6 which includes De Witt, Effingham, Fayette, Macon, Moultrie, and Shelby Counties is returning to Phase 4 of the Restore Plan.

10 out of 11 regions have moved out of Tier 3 mitigations. IDPH continues to monitor test positivity, ICU bed availability, and the number of people in the hospital with COVID-19. Should data show trends in the wrong direction, some of these regions will start moving back again.

Phase 4 allows for up to 50% restaurant capacity, up to 50 people gathering at one time, and  sports may start practicing again. The push from the Illinois Department of Public Health is to encourage continuing wearing masks, practice social distancing, wash hands frequently, and clean public work spaces.

Region 3 and Region 6 are now both in Phase 4. This is the most open phase other than Phase 5 which is where everything opens up completely.
