Governor JB Pritzker fired back to the temporary restraining order placed by Representative Darren Bailey from Clay County during his daily press conference. The order which only applies to Representative Bailey, challenges the Governor on his Stay-At-Home Order. Governor Pritzker addressed reporters and highlighted that Clay County is one of the most ill-prepared counties if the virus gets out of hand there, although Clay County is only reporting 2 cases and no deaths of COVID-19. The Governor called it a political stunt.

Governor Pritzker continued, saying that the state is appealing and that this is keeping him from doing his job of keeping Illinoisans safe. 

When pressed further, Governor Pritzker says because of his actions, we are beating the coronavirus.

The IDPH announced 2,219 new cases of COVID-19 including 144 deaths. IDPH is reporting a total of 48,102 cases including 2,125 deaths in 96 of the 102 counties in Illinois.
