A former Pana High School Student will serve as Lake Land Student Trustee for 2020-2021. Lucas Duduit will serve as a liaison between the students and the Board of Trustees. Duduit was elected for the position after a vote from the student body. He says voting was down, but he won pretty easily noting that the pandemic really kept voting numbers low but a helpful flyer helped him get his win.

Duduit says that he is looking forward to helping Lake Land Students to make it better than when he arrived. He is interested in politics and is hopeful that he can get into state or local government after he gets his degree in engineering science. 

One of the things that he wants to do as a Trustee is help push through some new ideas. One of those ideas is to be able to have counseling on campus that can help deal with stress from school or at home. Another idea is to put a list of hotlines or phone numbers on the back of ID’s to make them easily accessible to students since they do carry around the ID all the time.

Duduit says he’s honored to be serving during times of uncertainty and is looking forward to what he can do to change Lake Land for the better moving forward.

Lucas Duduit is majoring in engineering science and plans to transfer to the University of Illinois to study electrical engineering.
