Governor Pritzker Answers Questions On COVID-19

Governor JB Pritzker gave a short press conference on Sunday highlighting some of the new numbers but more importantly answering questions about COVID-19.  Governor Pritzker warned Illinoisans that if you’re protesting and not wearing masks, you’re putting everyone in danger.

Governor Pritzker says the whole reason that we’re doing social distancing in the first place is to limit the spread of the virus. There is concern over people not self-enforcing, but Governor Pritzker is discouraging police from enacting on it hoping that people will follow the rules.

When asked what gyms will have to do to stay safe once they are allowed to reopen again, Governor Pritzker said it won’t be easy.

The Governor also urged teachers to prepare for both in-class and E-learning for next year as there is no indication this will end anytime soon.

Governor Pritzker did say that there are plenty of things that the state is doing to help Schools prepare for E-learning.

The IDPH announced 2,126 new cases of COVID-19 including 59 deaths. IDPH is reporting a total of 43,903 cases including 1,933 deaths in 96 of the 102 counties in Illinois.
