Memorial Health System is helping those who are recovering at home from COVID-19. MHS is sending monitoring equipment in at-home kits to help health care providers spot potential issues for residents who are self-quarantining.
Nearly 70 patients who were tested at the Memorial respiratory clinic in Springfield received kits to monitor blood-oxygen levels, heartbeat, temperature, and lung function. There is also a peak-flow meter to measure lung function, an inhaler, a thermometer, a spirometer to exercise the lungs, and a battery-powered pulse oximeter. There will also be an instruction pamphlet with space to record readings.
Memorial Health will be giving kits out to Springfield, Decatur, Jacksonville, Taylorville, and Lincoln.
