Wet Weather Causes Delay in Taylorville Steak and Shake Opening

The abnormally wet weather so far this spring, has caused a delay in finishing the city street which will take customers to the new Steak and Shake just off Illinois Route 29 in Taylorville.

David Bruno of Stuller Inc., the local franchisee for the Taylorville restaurant, says the road underlayment has to test out at a certain point.  Once the underlayment has settled, Bruno says, the road can be poured.

The rainy weather has caused a delay of about a week to 10 days, according to Bruno.

He added that they have the keys to the building, so once the road is surfaced and a date set for the road to open, they'll be able to get their trucks in with the first supplies for both a soft opening date and a Grand Opening date.

Construction on the new Taylorville Steak and Shake began last fall.  Stuller, Inc. also owns and operates Steak and Shake restaurants in Springfield and Jacksonville.
