City Council Honors Taylorville Food Bank on Monday

On Monday night, the Taylorville City Council held their second monthly meeting at City Hall. First honored was the Taylorville Food Pantry for their continued dedication to help the Taylorville residents, especially in the aftermath of the December tornado. Mayor Bruce Barry says the pantry stepped up during the city’s time of need.

Following that, the council passed 3 motions, including one to extend the completion date for the Taylorville Steak N Shake. Barry says a delay in putting the sewer in contributed to the extension.

Following that, the council discussed committee reports where motions were passed from the Personnel, Emergency Services, Lake and Airport, and Water and Environmental committees were passed. After committee reports, the Council entered a closed session.

The Taylorville City Council meets on the first and third Monday of every month.
