Taylorville City Council Honors FFA at Council Meeting

The Taylorville City Council met on Monday night for their first, of two, monthly meetings. To begin the meeting, the youth of the month was honored. This month it went toward the Taylorville High School FFA who were crowned national champions in January. After that, two ordinances, and 3 motions were carried by the council. The last motion included a motion to bid the position of Working Foreman in the Sewer Department. Mayor Bruce Barry explains the need for the new position.

 

 

 Following the motions were the City Attorney, and Mayoral updates. After that were the committee reports were the street and sewer committee passed 3 motions. Just before the meeting concluded Alderman Bruce Jones announced that the next council meeting on February 19th would be his last as he retires. Barry shared some kind words for Jones despite only being Mayor for just over a year.

 

 

The Taylorville City Council meets on the first and third Monday of every month. However, their next meeting will be Tuesday, February 19th because of Presidents day.
