Taylorville Park Board Adopts 2015/2016 Budget

The Taylorville Park District adopted the 2015/2016 budget during their regular monthly meeting on Monday night at the Park office. The estimated income for the fiscal year is approximately $770,000 and the estimated expenditures match that same amount. It was pointed out that the budget was essentially the same as last year with some additions to the New Equipment and Pool Maintenance Repair line items in anticipation of the purchase of a new truck and some necessary concrete and paint work at the pool.

The board also approved the purchase of 2 commemorative benches to honor Wayne Orr, Sr and past park district trustee Wm. Beck. It was noted that Orr had, every day for many years, fed the ducks at the park. Beck was a former park district trustee and avid golfer. His bench will be located at the golf course, while Orr's will be located at the pond in the park. Permission was given to purchase a new single flume water slide for the pool in the amount of $10,478.

In her report, Recreation Director, Bailey Hancock, announced that she had begun to receive applications for summer help. She stated that she had received many but was in great need of Lifeguard applications. She also informed the board that the Day Camp information was posted on the website and that the life guard stands had arrived.

Park Maintenance Superintendent Gary Brown shared tha the remodeling of the park offices was complete and that the furnace in the restrooms had been repaired with the replacement of a blower motor. The new picnic tables for the pool had arrived and been assembled.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30.
