Vacant Mobile Home Catches Fire in Taylorville

A mobile home in the Hannon Trailer Court in Taylorville caught fire late Monday night. Around 11:45pm, Taylorville Fire Department was sent to the Hannon Trailer Court for the mobile home fire. Firefighters arrived to find the mobile home approximately 75% involved in fire. Firefighters quickly took defensive action to protect the other homes until the fire was put out. The fire was extinguished and the scene was cleared just a little after 1:00am Tuesday. The mobile home to the north had smoke damage but no heat or fire damage. No other surrounding mobile homes were damaged. The mobile home that caught fire was vacant and is ruled a complete loss. Taylorville Assistant Fire Chief Andy Goodall said there was no gas or electricity to the trailer. The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation. The State Fire Marshall will assist in the investigation.
